@@Sarah-bp8gc ..and that's a good thing. And it's an even better thing that there are still 'unshazamable' tunes. Even if they get fewer and fewer.. however this beautiful tune is in the shazam database..
now that so much house and techno is produced to sound 'cool' it's so nice to have a song to come back to that isn't afraid to bare it all. it doesn't get more real than this
The sampling in this song is simply amazing. The fast break patterns are quite jarring at first and build a lot of tension but as the song progresses they become more and more in sync with the rest of the tune. So fucking original man.
Moodymann is king no mather what, he has more soul then a sock with hole. His music just makes you smile and realize how good life is. Thank you moodymann for giving us the taste of that kinda music. this is for life!
Who needs vices..Hell the art of beautiful sound emersion is the most hypnotic feeling in our great universe..Not knocking another ones swing, but I swing like this.
its 2020, corona pandemic has hit the world and my beloved Cape Town South Africa. This odd time has brought me too Moodyman, i hit the blunt and zoned into these amazing beats, isolation aint so bad anymore!!!! BEAT BLUNT AND ME LOVING MOODYMAN TRACKS
Ridge view - Same Same story and moment sat here in the UK your sentiments are mirrored as I type and listen in my headphone MOODYMANN escape. Prince actually brought me to MOODYMANN. He dj’ed in a LIVE stream last night from a Prince after party from Paisley Park after the launch of some new work from ‘Vault’ wearing roller skates whilst in the mix. WOW
Damn. I would like to call myself a die hard Kenny fan, but I was reading an article by Prequel (a great artist, check out his tunes) about a mix he did to commemorate KDJ. They linked this track in it, and my god. Arguably my favorite moody record of all time, surely in my top 5 house records of all time. Like so many comments keep saying, the track just gets deeper than you would ever imagine. For all the heads just finding Fred right now, if you are searching for where Fred finds his inspiration, look no further than Kenny. This, Thief, are 1A and 1B for me. The GOAT.
What a sorrowful, soulful peace of music. Very progressive in all accounts but still house music to me. It's strangeness goes with the melancholic theme.
Nathan Galante the term house music refers to the music they played or i guess would have played at the chicago nightclub, warehouse, in the late 70s early 80s where frankie knuckles was the resident dj. when people were looking for the records he was playing they would ask for the house music.. or so the story goes.. in saying that im neutral on the genre statement.. this certainly isnt rock or country music so i would say they are different genres.. but then i hear alot of artists saying they are not out to create a certain genre because they get inspired by a range of things so its rough to tell them what they created. but like everything else the masses label it and i guess when you are describing an artist to someone who has not heard them before you have to use some sort of description?
Which, a description can be so full of descriptors! Let's use our beautiful language to describe music. Genres just make a very general and vague description of music. There's feelings, instruments, intensity, members, loudness, volume, origin, influences, ambience, purposed audience... should i continue?
sample culture still has room for innovation. black people still have something to contribute to electro music. people still feel the warm vibes listening to vinyl and tape compressed soudn. nice moodyman
I am so in love with this track! Just found it (unbelievable since I have an unbelievable diverse taste when it comes to house) Anyway this will be my start song In my next liveset “scamazon” hope enjoy it . ..
This completely tangential but whenever Eureka Seven would end it would always conclude with 'To Be Continued'. This kinda makes me feel like that, the feeling that you want more.
Anyone else still coming back to listen nearly 10 years later? A true masterpiece 💜
Yep crazy feeling but timeless.
aw hell yeah my duderino

Almost a decade after this comment and how right you are
There’s something so raw about this song. The way fades in and out, almost like it’s a living being with a heart beat lol.
The sampling in this song is simply amazing. The fast break patterns are quite jarring at first and build a lot of tension but as the song progresses they become more and more in sync with the rest of the tune. So fucking original man.

Good shout, funk genres.
