  • Basically kept the factory resonator which is free flow, removed the heavy boat anchor stock muffler (about 35lbs.) Installed a free flow 1 chamber muffler and exhaust pipe in its place and finished it off with a nice exhaust tip. Results, deep rumble, improved throttle response, power, torque, fuel economy and all on a very reasonable budget. The muffler cost me $25, tip cost $25, exhaust pipe and welding it at my local exhaust shop $70, altogether, a great deal at $120. Full cat back exhausts are usually anywhere from $350 and up. I really like the sound of my custom exhaust, plus you can pick your favorite muffler and tip and set it up your way.

I've removed the cat from my 99 Ford Ranger 2.5L I'll be replacing the original muffler with a Cherry Bomb 12 inch Glass pack. I cut a big opening in the air box. It's helped a lot. Thank you for your guidance.

I got the Cherry Bomb glass pack put on this morning. Lost about 12 pounds of weight and she flows loud.

I love my ecoboost but holy crap that sounds terrible. Please put the stock exhaust back on. Guys putting these stupid exhaust systems on an ecoboost is why the v8 guys cant ever take us seriously, even though we can smoke 'em.

Turbo response is much better without that boat anchor exhaust

@@TTATurbochargeThemAll sorry but that was just a placebo effect. you took off a straight through exhaust and replaced it with a straight through exhaust. And yes the factory mufflers are straight through. Unless you cut out the cats and put larger downpipes and true dual exhaust you didn't gain anything whatsoever, and even that is minimal.

@@molonlabe287 It worked with my 2014 eco-boost F150 all I had was an intake and exhaust, The video is on Budget Boosting where I dyno tested it and I made much more rear wheel horsepower and torque then the stock specs at the crank

And since I just change the muffler and left the stock resonator which was free flowI only paid less than $100 and made more power than those expensive aftermarket cat back exhaust I just remove the bottleneck and nothing else simple to the point and Budget better fuel economy better power better torque win-win

I recently drove from Nevada to San Francisco including the steep Donner Summit and averaged 27 1/2 miles per gallon pretty damn good
