thank you!!!! love it! thank u very much i understand the message with you''re talking about the musculature in the exercises, it's so important, i got it! thank you again. FROM CHILE
Thank you Mr Du. While I understand that as an adult learner, I could never have the same muscle strength and flexibility as a professional dancer, the principles of using muscles remain the same :) I really appreciate your detailed and easy-to-understand video tutorials.
Thank you - at least one ballet teacher in the internet did understand and teach these steps right! It’s all about coordination. When you teach this way, even 8 years old girls (or boys) can do assemble battu next day! The same with jete - I even would teach this little jumps first day out of space (lateral) - this is a bit easier. I’m a Vaganova - educated Teacher, who is teaching ballet and Pas de deux already for 54 years at a lot of the greatest professional schools in Europe and over the world and I see so many wrong explanations for jumps, turns, point and lifts, hindering young talents in there success… All the best for your work! Greetings Prof. Hans Tappendorff
I’ve watched your shorts for a while and now watching the long form ones. I’m an adult getting back into ballet after doing it as a child, I also do salsa, bachata, and pole dancing. My goal is to get en pointe and so I want to make sure I don’t learn anything in the wrong way and I get every detail correct, especially after noticing that my teachers at the moment don’t make certain corrections that I want. I very much love your teaching style, you clearly know what you are doing, I love seeing your students very open to correction instead of getting frustrated that says a lot about you and them as well. ❤
The mechanics of assemblé and jeté were explained so well - very helpful :) I particularly found the idea of the legs joining acting as a '2nd thrust' in a jump. Thank you for putting out such good content :) A video with tips to increase the number and quality of fouetté turns could be really helpful
I wish you could be my teacher l love how you explain, I love your intensity and precision, you’re exactly what I need, thank you for doing these videos you’re amazing ❤
I believe, (and this is what I teach) retire is the action of retracting the work foot up the leg and passe is the act of passing through the position. It can also mean the high knee is the position at which to are able to pass through to any high develope extension. For example right leg front in 5th, retire the leg up to the the passe position moving into a develope front. Often times teacher will just say passe/retire meaning the position of the working foot up at the knee, but technically a retire is the "road" and passe is the "roundabout" to the final "destination" (devant, a le second, derriere).
Thank you! 67 and learning. Love ballet very much but my brain needs this type of emphasis! Thank you so much❤

I would like to ask, if there is any differences between Retiré and Passé? Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Good question. I asked myself that too

I agree with you
Thanks. Now I understood. Very well explained.
So helpful!!
Yes, I’m learning at 34!
Mr. Du - can you make a video on how to properly do a brisé? Thank you!!
Super helpful. Thank you
Thank you.
Mr. Du, this is very helpful. I always make mistakes, as you talked about in your video. Can you show us how to practice on the barre again? Thanks!
Will work on this, Pete. Thanks!
There is second position only to be fixed in the air in petit pas jete, not fifth!!!
