That’s sick dude, man y’all 12v guys have it so easy with the turbo setups, my 7.3 has no room for easy swaps like that
Nah man check out dps turbonator i have a s369sxe vgt on my 7.3 awesome turbo
@@steezy7.3eazy76 how much did that cost you to do im considering that on my 7.3 excursion
Idk why but nobody has put 6.0 turbos on 7.3’s I feel like there’s a reason they can’t / don’t do it.
@@zaxfourtrax bc they are too small to be effective on a 7.3 powerstroke
@@Dieselfan1997 the housing was 1500 sir and it is insane what it did to the powerband 100% recommend
Not even intercooled, nice. This is the kind of bolt-on that I live for.
That’s a different noise it sound like 6.0 but with a cummins instead. I LOVE IT!
Very impressive, I have a 6.0 powerstroke with a titan 9 blade turbo. When I sell the truck I’m gonna keep the turbo and put it on a 12 valve. I believe a 12 valve with 9 blade vgt turbo may break the internet
I’m not a powerstroke fan but I do like their turbo whistle.
That sounds so awesome. I would love to hear a drive by of it
Wow almost sounds like a 6.0L 😂 that turbo whistle is something else!
Dude that’s sweet. How did you wire up the VGTs ?
Buddy showed me this, it sounds so deadly almost just like a 6.0L
Could you give me a run down on your fuel regulator? Where did you find the banjo fittings? How well does it work?
6.0 turbski is the nicest mod..add an intercooler and call it a day.
That’s friggin’ sweet! Curious how you setup the VGT switch.
Probably just power to it, you could use a brake controller to control the voltage going to the turbo so it slowly closes the vanes as you brake turning it into an “exhaust brake”
I was going to say I think I saw this truck for sale a while back on Facebook marketplace in florida. Then I saw the dash and knew it was the one I saw
Let’s see what you did for that vgt switch!
Yeh need to see that. I would do this
all we did was wire it to a toggle switch ,so the vanes are either fully open or fully closed, we will make a video explaining how we wired it soon and plan on making the vgt vanes sweep automatically
@@dannersweldingandfabrication BAHAHAHA. I have always wanted to do something like that and everyone called me crazy. Put a thumb throttle on the wheel to control the vane position and play it by ear. Get a drivepressure guage and reference the boost until you get a hang of it. Not to mention, off the throttle, pushing it in all the way is an easy way of getting an exhaust brake. Is the vain control of the 6.0 turbo PWM driven with a duty cycle?
Add a guitar volume knob to the VGT and you can control how much power the vanes get so you can slowly open and close them and thus control how open they are
@@mattheweggert2090 If it used PWM control, I don't think a potentiometer will be of much effect. Maybe there might be some other driver that can be made or repurposed?
I've had a few 6.0's have 1 now and I was wondering about using one of their turbo's on a 12v. I guess you answered my question.. lol Can you get it to engage as an engine brake?
I don't even know what to say. I am usually a stickler for cross breeding but am actually very impressed to the point of wanting to try this myself. Wow. Talk about ingenuity.
I can't help but laugh at the homemade dash with no speedo and the lack of intercooler. I say that with all due respect. I admire your square body Ram and loved this build brother. Keep up the good work!
Simply beautiful.
Do you have any info on EGTs, boost or how you wired the VGT?
Thanks 👍
Lmao i appreciate it was just an experiment
I don’t have the vgt wired up but rn the turbo is wide open and soon I’ll be hooking up my egt gauge to see what it reads
How did you do the solenoid switch? Please help because i want to copy your build on my 98 12 valve. Thank you in advance and much love all the way from Hawaii!!
How did you wire the VGT pig tail? I’m really interested in doing this now😂
Well done with this. 👍
Hey what size is the v band on the turbo that is goes to the manifold or the adapter you used if you bought it, I’m looking to do this swap on a 24v
It SCREAMS LOVE IT!
How are you controlling that turbo??
12v rules and il love the turbo off of a 6.0
Broo! That's a badass truck👍
That thing sounds amazing
This sounds so wierd Oml definitely the first time ive ever seen a 6.0 turbo on a 5.9
Curious to know what your egts are after installing the 6.0 turbo with no intercooler.
How much boost were you making, and do you make the adapters for the t3- powerstroke turbo?
The 2 guys staring at 5:53 lmao 🤣
Love that whistle
I would like to know how you wired up the vgt??
Sounds amazing
How did you clock the turbo? I have mine torn apart waiting on a rebuild kit for mine before doing the swap. And I’m looking at it, the front housing will only go one way because of the slots, and the exhaust side has the VGT setup and looks like there’s only one way for it to go on. I’m just a little confused I guess on how you clocked it
i had to clock the compressor housing but i was running into clearance issue so i had to grind the back of the compressor housing to clear the vgt solenoid.
@@dannersweldingandfabrication awesome, thank you for the reply! I found out that they had different styles of compressor covers throughout the years I guess, the first turbo I pulled off a 2006 e-450 bus had a housing that could only be clocked certain directions. Then I found a 10 blade on marketplace for cheap that the front housing was totally different and could be clocked whichever direction needed. I swapped my turbo on my truck Saturday night and have some kinks to work out. Keeps posting videos man I like the content!
@@AKRINIST no problem anytime and thank you i appreciate it.
I just got done doing this swap....it doesn't work worth a shit ....no turbo whistle only sounds like a shop vac makes 15 psi with the switch on but at 15psi the turbo flutters and truck pours black smoke egts skyrocket and truck won't accelerate at all .......no idea?
Sounds like the vains are wide open
Hey man I’m getting all the stuff together to do this to my 1st gen. Can you tell if you bypasses your inner cooler. Or is there a way to keep the inner cooler.
I by passed the inner cooler cause mine didn’t come with one from factory but I recommend using the inner cooler to cool down the egts and it makes the engine alot better
Sounds good like beautiful
Tried this today i cant clock turbo where it connects to the manifold and crossovers to the intake manifold
I can’t find the flange adapter did you make it?
Nice 👍
Can a turbo be adapted in a none turbo international 7.3 1994 ?
Sounds nice 👍 bro
Hey bro thats awesome,is there a way you could send me all parts you used l would really apreciated!
How wiring a turbo controller please thanks
I need to know how you wired it please
This is awesome!!
Where did you buy the adapters? Got any part numbers?
We custom made an adapter out of 6.0 up pipes and a t3 flange.
Did you add a support or is it hanging from the v band?
just hanging off the v band.
How is switch wired
Nice
so badass!!!
How did it affect the torque curve on the Dyno?
I’m not sure but i can feel that the truck has more torque at the lower rpm where as before the torque was in the middle but i have more speed at the top end
@@dannersweldingandfabrication
I wonder how much more boost you can get with the VGT without blowing it up. LoL
@@dannersweldingandfabrication
Torque seems to peak after the torque converter locks up then plateaus until 2,400 RPM.
What is that gauge to the right of the injection pump?
that is a fuel regulator cause I have an electric fuel pump that was supposed to be for a 5.9 v8 but someone converted it to a Cummins and the they put the fuel regulator on it to turn down the pump pressure
SICK!
How many lbs of boost, and how quick does it spool
we don't have a boost gauge on it right now, but it spools really good
@@dannersweldingandfabrication you got me on market place looking for a turbo, it
Looks like they put out 24-27 lbs stock witch isn’t much more than my hx40 w so I’m on the fence about getting it purely for sound. But it’s sounds supper nasty.
@@TurboMotorsports It doesn't make a huge difference in the performance, we mostly did it for the sound haha we plan on putting a boost gauge on it in the future.
i have a2007 6.0 that will idle drive then just shutdown
Love it
Whats the gauge at 05:10 ???
my fuel pump regulator cause i have an electric fuel pump
@@dannersweldingandfabrication you mean lift pump or you replaced p pump???
@@ΙωάννηςΛαμπρογιώργος my cummins used to have a mechanical pump but its been converted to an electric fuel pump but i have add a regulator and turn the pump pressure down, cause if I don't ill blow out my throttle shaft seal on my VE pump
❤
Love itttttt
I want to put this turbo on my 24valve
Nice bro keep grinding
thanks man
your oil drain tube shouldnt be bent like that my dude
Qwantoz hp??
“Cummins”
5:03 why tf would you do that? Lol
Lol my hand was no where near the belt lmaoo
😢
damm she sounds damm good
Where is a support bracket. That thing looks heavy
There’s no support bracket
Where you get the t3 to v band adapter
This dude over here jb welding returnlines an shit jesus
sounds amazing
