I graduated from Council Rock, and I was on hand for the grand opening of BCCC. I recall a picnic at the Indian Council Rock house. I recognized so many names of the 18th and 19th century farmers and knew many of their descendants in Newtown and Richboro. I ran many miles on the Tyler Estate, and it's great to see it again! Next time I'm in town I'll walk the estate!
Wow this brought back memories. First visited Tyler in the 80s on a CYO trip, day of canoeing and horseback riding. A decade later, I moved to Newtown (there for 10 years). Lived close enough to Tyler that I could bike there daily. I could practically ride those trails blindfolded, I knew every hill and curve. Good times. Thanks for a (beautifully done) enlightening video and allowing me to reminisce.
If you went horseback riding in the 80s you probably rode one from Sunnyfield Stables, my first job being a trai guide at 12 or 13 years old. Many good memories ❤
@@julieneild4505 Yes! I don't know why I kept thinking 'Sunnybrook' lol. My first time on horseback and the horse's name was Buckshot. He was appropriately named, too, haha.
Very interesting! I spent many hours horseback riding through the park. It's been years but I can still hear the echoing clippity-clop of my rented horse's hooves walking on the covered bridge. It was the most peaceful sound ❤
Wonderful video! I grew up across from Tyler Park and still enjoy walking and hiking there. It’s such a shame many of the homes are vacant and in need of repair.
I have hiked almost every inch of this park and still do at least 2x a week. It's a fantastic place and there are plans to continue the preservation of the park by the State of Pennsylvania and Bucks County.
I remember back in the day just before it became a state park (can't remember when) we would go fishing near the creek dam. We used to have to dodge the cops, but it was all no big deal, as everybody knew what was going on at the time. Also I remember riding our bikes up a long road in a cornfield to an old house somewhere on the property. Now, I'm sure, everything must be totally different in 2024.
If you ever need a voice over artist for your next video please let me know. I’m professionally trained and I used to live in Newtown. It would be my pleasure to do it for you.
Thank you for creating this video. Beautiful
Thank you it was much enjoyed.

I had no idea the expanse of the park and how many farms. I wonder how Tyler was able to convince them all to sell to him.
It took him 10 years to acquire all of the farms. It appears that the offers he handed out were more than generous.
Could this be where Richard kilkinski took his marks?
The first fact is wrong. It's 1,711 acres, not 17,000.
Thank you for catching that. That's a big error on my part.
Love it, but why the AI narrator?
Unfortunately, my accent and voice are not up to par.
The pronunciation of Neshaminy was interesting 😊 very well done though.
