Nice little character beat for the Foundation itself.
Its particularly interesting when you realize that Natasha has to get authorization from the O5 council itself, a process that within the Foundation can take several weeks. The fact it only takes Natasha a few seconds is not a reference to her speed, or the readiness of the 05s: its a reference to the fact that their entire conversation takes place over the span of many months, due to the fact that the new Gaia processes thoughts very slowly.

This was amazing to watch and read along with, goosebumps and ninjas choppin' onions in here. Also, early 90's being the timeframe, I could only think of Captain Planet and the Planeteers and Gaia being the most obvious reference and inspiration for the "...public education programs for children which present the idea of a benevolent 'Mother Nature' or 'Gaia' as a metaphor for natural ecosystems..."
Archon is such a seriously underrated containment class to work with, likely on account of it taking a certain level of creativity and writing chops to get down properly.
That was fantastic! Whoever wrote that really crafted an emotional, captivating scifi story and Volgun showed why he's the best SCP channel on RUclips.
I’ve been binging on SCP videos for a few days now. They’re all insanely entertaining and thought provoking…but wow….this video made me feel something beautiful in my heart. Thank you for making this.

I wonder all that pseudoscientific telepathy jargon has any meaning within the SCP canon, ie: the “icarus/halcyon type constructs”. If it does that’d be super interesting to explore if you haven’t already :)
So if humans were to travel into space and terraform other planets will the foundation need to make a Gaia for each of those planets? Or will Earth's Gaia travel with humanity to those other planets?
"...comprised of base instincts - primarily urges to feed, fight, flee, and/or mate. Beyond that, an underlying constant pain can be detected in the consciousness." OMG it's just like me fr fr

As enjoyable, as novel, as inventive and strange as each s.c.p is to me in marathon listening as a night janitor, I never thought one of these would bring me to tears. Such willful beauty was invested in this story, such a potion of both hope and fear, my heart is briefly broken and then revived. Whoever wrote this, thank you.
Hey, remember that time The Foundation let Mother Earth die, then made their own, worse version using its corpse, killed it, and then made one out of a person? Good times.
Contrary to what one might assume, The Foundation knows all too well that even in their clandestine world of the anomalous, there is a sad truth to that old "Man was the real monster" cliché.
Some are yes. But most are just sheep lead around by emotions not contributing to anything but themselves. The problem with casting "mankind" as monsters that most people doing it dont realize is that they are only showing who they are with that statement not everyone else. Most of the people on this planet are trying to survive like every other living creature. Once they have that worked out to a reasonable level if they are lucky they can then start to help others. Which is why we are still around. It's always easy to point fingers and collectively push blame on everyone because then it allows that person to not have to take it upon themselves to actually fix what they can in there own life.
@@seththomas1119 Hopefully that completely meaningless thought you just had keeps people comfortable up until we all die as everyone's idiotic desperate attempt not to survive but to have more than others kills us all. Cause that attempt at waxing philosophical you just tried fell flat on its face. Cuz the billionaires fighting desperately in order to turn the Alaskan wildlife refuge into Swiss cheese to find just a little bit more oil they can exploit for even more billions of dollars definitely aren't doing it to survive as they multibillionaires. The fact it only takes Natasha a few seconds is not a reference to her speed, or the readiness of the 05s: its a reference to the fact that their entire conversation takes place over the span of many months, due to the fact that the new Gaia processes thoughts very slowly.
"It's the new mother nature taking over! It's the new splendid lady come to call! It's the new mother nature taking over! And she's gettin' us all! And she's gettin' us all!"
-The Guess Who
That beginning was sick, strike that, the entire file is, also the big surprise was noice
Or as Arthur C. Clarke might put it, the new planetary consciousness was not sure what she was going to do first . . .
"But she would think of something."
You're an incredible SCP themed creator. The dialog/script is paramount in any SCP interpretation, by my honest opinion. Most "illustrated" SCP creators I have evaluated, are prone to digest and regurgitate their content in a manner that takes me out of the narrative.
it’s an nice detail that you can see the coffee cooling over time, the attention to detail in these videos is so impressive
Come on I can’t be to only one who was crying and feels guilty during the end...? I mean yeah its just an SCP story but... its the reality of our world
Yup
They nearly caused an sk dominance shift scenario instead of i dont know actually trying to fix the planet and this thing is a hypothetical asshole considering there have been multiple extinction level events in that past that it either caused or did nothing to prevent
🧡
@@apexhunter935 Yeah thats the thing about people who idolize mother nature they ignore the fact shes killed and caused more extinctions then humanity could ever DREAM off and she if she was a godlike or living thing did NOTHING about it basically were a show on a sheaf of her skin and she gets mad when one of her puppets actually starts spreading in ways she cant controll in real life anyway maybe she did try in the scp universe
Except in the real world we unfortunately can't just magically fix things with telepathy.
As much as we wish we could.
Why do I get this feeling and everytime I listen to an SCP article this seems more truth Than Fiction
Because this is the SCP Universe. In fact, it goes far beyond that.
The stories are fiction, but all good stories draw from truth, and so the result is truth wrapped in fiction.
The reader decides which SCP articles are true and which are disinformation. You can theorycraft as much as you want, and it’ll feel real. It’s fun stuff.
Multiverse theory: This is real in some other universe.
I got randomly recommended this and had time to lay back and watch it, It was so good! Major props to the original writer and to Volgun & the voice actress!
Gotta love when you can find or make the time to relax and appreciate art. This could easily be its own short in a film festival.

This is one of the best SCP Readings you have ever done Volgun. Lumi and yourself created one of the most enthralling readings I have ever heard of an SCP. 4043 is amazing. Thank you for sharing this and thank you for creating this incredible video :)
Claire going to Borneo hits home, it's my parents collective homes, Sabah and Sarawak respectively. It's so touching in a way I didn't expect
Well that just left me with a big dumb smile on my face and a warm feeling at the end. Thanks for this one Volgun, and Lumi, this was pretty damn wholesome all in all.
I don't know if you read all your comments, but if you do, I hope you feel appreciated. We can all tell how much effort each one of these videos takes. Thanks for the premium-quality content
This was amazing to watch and read along with, goosebumps and ninjas choppin' onions in here. Also, early 90's being the timeframe, I could only think of Captain Planet and the Planeteers and Gaia being the most obvious reference and inspiration for the "...public education programs for children which present the idea of a benevolent 'Mother Nature' or 'Gaia' as a metaphor for natural ecosystems..."
this has been the first time I have actually cried in year, Jesus Christ this hits like a truck

Yeah that was great. I bet alot of ppl right now irl are saying the same thing.
I laughed pretty hard at this. Couldn't agree more
Agent Yen: It's "she" not "it"
Researcher: Oh no, anyway. How is it?
Both The Volgun and Lumi really did an amazing job with this one, I was genuinely so immersed right the way through. Well done :)
A 48 minute SCP, XK-class, great voice acting, and a very serious one at that? God bless Volgun, god bless him.
This is such a beautiful scp, I love scps that aren’t inherently scary. It’s scary.. but gorgeous
I'm so glad you did this one! I've been waiting for this for so long, this is one of my favorite SCPS on the forum!
I’ve been binging on SCP videos for a few days now. They’re all insanely entertaining and thought provoking…but wow….this video made me feel something beautiful in my heart. Thank you for making this.
me: Gaia is the goddess of earth if she dies.......well i dont want to think about it.
Kain: Drops a Tiberium shard.
This is surprisingly beautiful coming out of the scp universe. From beginning to end I was hooked, and the resolution was absolutely wonderful. Definitely gonna have to listen again sometime
That's a possibility but SCP-2001 poses a threat to that. I just uploaded a video on SCP-2001. Go give it a look.
This was beautiful and touching. My favorite SCP along Sacrosanctum.

Ah yes, the 4 F's of basic instinct:
Feed
Fight
Flee
Mate
Fornicate
Not only is this a SCP I overlooked, but it was narrated and presented Masterfully. Beautiful work as always.
Goddamnit!! Why have I been sobbing since like... Three minutes in?!?
Wow this was friggin good!! Probably the most hypnotic, heartbreaking, heartwarming, esoteric SCP I’ve come across to date! Beautifully done.
This was amazing the repetition in the files left me feeling uneasy not annoyed it was so well executed.
Volgun...! That was effing epic. Congrats to all the voice actors involved it was very engaging.
This might be my favorite one so far. Incredibly well done.
I’m speechless, you’ve come so far and I feel lucky to have been subscribed for so long , the quality and article choice just gets better and better
"...comprised of base instincts - primarily urges to feed, fight, flee, and/or mate. Beyond that, an underlying constant pain can be detected in the consciousness."
OMG it's just like me fr fr
Holy shit. This was so well done props to the writer, Lumi, and to you Volgun for making this such an incredible story. As a nature lover, this story made feel such a range of emotions. A round of applause for everyone involved.
If this is the future of this channel then god damn... I'm gonna have to do it...
Yeeeaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Boi? There's Kratos again...
It's been awhile since I've watched your videos Volgun. But when I do come back, I get a gem such as this. Thank you for your work.
@@seththomas1119
Hopefully that completely meaningless thought you just had keeps people comfortable up until we all die as everyone's idiotic desperate attempt not to survive but to have more than others kills us all.
They are obviously just simply trying to have more than others at this point.
dude how aren't you at one mil yet? these videos had me up later then normal! not out of fear due to SCP stuff usually being horrific in nature, but out of enjoyment. I'm definitely going to continue binge watching/listening in the morning XD.
HAPPY EARTH DAY EVERYBODY!!! AND GIVE LUMI AND VOLGUN A ROUND OF APPLAUSE!!!
@TheVolgun, I want you to know how much I love your videos. I’ve made a playlist of all your readings and I always listen to them as I sleep. You’re amazing. Please keep up the great work!!!
Hands down your best work yet. Such a good SCP as well. The thoughts of horror and how bleak things look when such events happen as they did here, only to have such a heart-warming end.
This is my favorite of all of your SCP article narrations. It's so well done.
"Males are expendable"
Whoa there that's not very equality-minded of you.
Here's your draft papers, ma'am.
After having watched every one of your videos, and being sometimes intrigued, more often scared and sometimes even utterly spooked I gotta admit: I had tears in my eyes at the end

This was an excellent video, and I'm really loving NATASHA, mostly because that was the name of my childhood dog...

The production value and quality of this is insane. And the article was beautifully written. Well done volgunn.
I love the format of this video and I’m honestly disappointed in RUclips that it took a month for it to get to my newsfeed
This is beautiful. Genuinely brought tears by the end. And a lot of emotion. Great work puting this together. Love your content. Continue making great things volgun.
I kind of want to see what the manna charitable foundation would have done if they found it this is so up there alley
man this has been one of your best videos by far it was edited lovely, great voice acters and a dope ass moving background that keeps my adhd ass's attention on the video XD
This still makes me cry every time I listen to it. Both in current existential despair, and later, in desperate hope for the future.
the video is neat but i'll be honest this scp is silly, since SCP's with an enviromental theme to it are now so common im feeling preached instead of reading something interesting, helping the enviroment is a good thing but lets not act like nature is better than all civilization nature will chew us up and spit us out just like it does to the animals and some plants (lets not lie ourselves humanity is not the only source of suffering for animals and vegetation) and civilization is not cold a and gray perpetual monotony like most people seem to belive
the world is getting better human civilization is getting better were not butchers or killers of this planet we are mere inhabitants of it who have a mess to clean
This was marvelous man, I dont mind waiting longer if the vieos are this good.
Pretty generic "humans bad nature good" story with a twist that you can predict from the start. Definitely a fan of the longer video format and voice work though
Did you watch it? Because it literally ends with humanity and nature together need to be balanced, because without humanity "nature" is just fighting, feeding, and fucking.
And you saw "Psychic girl becomes manifestation of Mother Nature" coming? Uh huh. You must be just so very smart, just like your mom tells you.
