As a new dude to board games, this was a great video for folks like me. We got just enough to ignite the interest of each game. Your personality, knowledge, voice, and production are amazing.
I also recommend the Mistborn Deck building game. It's a fun solo game, but also works great as a coop and competitive game depending on the situation.
I was about to write another super positive comment but then I realized that I've basically just been glazing you for almost all your videos since I subbed
Have you tried: Beyond Humanity: Colonies? A colony building game, much in a video game. By default the game is intended semi-co-operative where each player is aiming to be the best for this colony without letting the funding get cut because the colony is unable to sustain itself. The game can be co-operative which does remove the being best aspect, and does make the game more of a casual puzzle/planning game. Not saying easy, just there is less holding back, and potential sabotage. Solo puts the entire stress onto one player and I feel it's done very well. They are three slightly different experiences in how to play this game. Bios: Megafauna? Running an ecosystem that you evolve to thrive on a planet with shifting lands, and changing climate. It's main function is a competetive 2-4 player game. Solo varient (within the game) has you trying to succeed at life on a possibly alien world. Apex Theropod Deck Building Game: Collected Edition? Primarily a solo deck building game playing as a species of dinosaur trying to overthrow the chosen/random apex predator before extinction occurs. This game was built for solo. The multiplayer aspect is imo rubbish (it's unbalanced, very much tacked on). Return to Dark Tower? Running around in a world doing tasks to gain access to the boss hiding within a tower so you can finally put an end to their evil. Playing this solo is equivalent to play co-operative. The default play of this game is semi-co-operative, but every play style works well. Figured I throw in a few I have from my collection to check out.
Im sure as an Ark Nova fan, Terraforming Mars might be obsolete to you, but I love that game solo. Especially the Ares Expedition version. Set up and tear down are so fast, and the gameplay is great. Usually after I finish I have to play at least one more game. I love it. I really wanna try Monumental now after watching this video. Love me some civ building games!
This was an awesome list. Some games that are new to me. Marvel Champions is my favorite solo game by far, but I’m very bought into it. Also, a good term to differentiate is “deck construction” for when you aren’t deckbuilding in game. I asked for Dune Imperium Uprising as my main Christmas gift hoping to play it ton solo when I get it.
Hey, super enjoyable video! Insta-subbed. I own and love 5 games from your list: Dune Imperium, Cthulhu Dead May Die, Final Girl, Marvel Champions and Spirit Island. I adore Mage Knight, you should try try it. You sold me Monumental. Looks pretty amazing, Other great solo games imo: Imperium (Legends, Classics, Horizons), The Lord of the Rings LCG, Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island, Tiny Epic Defenders (specially with Te Dark War expansion) and Lost Ruins of Arnak (specially wth the app campaign). Cheers from Ecuador, South America.
Mage Knight is very high atop my "To Try" list! Haven't given tLotR LCG, Robinson Crusoe, Tiny Epic Defenders, or Arnak a play yet either, lots to try! Thank you, cheers!
Poor Neb! 😂 Out of your list I've only played Final Girl and CDMD, both of which are definitely favorites in my collection. I will add Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein, Deep Rock Galactic, Halls of Hegra, Iron Helm, Keep the Heroes Out, Legacy of Yu, Machina Arcana, Oak, Obsession, and Rococo as some of my current solo favorites. The list changes almost constantly depending on my mood. 😅
Jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja this is the first video I've seen of yours and I liked it!!! First thumb up 😊👍🏻 I'll watch some more. Cheers from Argentina!! 😊
Nice list! For me Final Girl and Marvel Champions are at the top. I prefer Spirit Island two player and don’t like playing multiple Spirits solo. If you like Paladins then I’d recommend Viscounts of the West Kingdom solo. Totally different game but same art and icons, it’s my favorite. The AI is easy to run and there’s different ones to play against.
I just actually bought the Steam app for Ark Nova! Really looking forward to diving in and learning the game that way. My physical is just sitting there unopened menacingly.
Great video, i like you twists on Ben move and Bent termination. For some of these games, it’s not clear how the game can bed played single, they look like multiplayer. Some multiplayer have much better single player mode than others, some Automata are just nice and some others aren’t. For instance I was very disappointed by the automa version of Expeditions. I missed that review in your video. Not a critic, just a recommendation to improve to increase the quality even more.
Great choices. Right in league with my own. I’m bummed I never did jump on Uprise, but you can’t own them all. Another couple I would like to suggest if you have not tried is Maximum Apocalypse, and Fallen Land 2nd Edition.
I'm not totally sure what you mean-I've only played the official version (I did realize while editing that I only set up the board with one character which is incorrect, it's 2 characters for solo)
I'm new to finding your channel. I definitely am already playing some of these games, but you did show me other games I haven't heard of either. I'm curious if you enjoy Marvel Champions more than Arkham or Lord of the Rings? Or have played the other two? I probably enjoy Marvel and Arkham equally, but thwy both feel different enough to me to enjoy collecting both. And I just ordered the revised core for Lord the Rings last week. Have you tried Mage Knight? Or Voidfall for solo? I have not given Mage Knight the attention it deserves. I've only attempted a full scenario twice so far after half a dozen plays of the tutorial scenario. I don't play spirit island enough either. I am self teaching with Horizons true solo for now. But I own all the expansions and core game now thanks to Prime Day deals. I started a campaign of Dorfromantik in October as well. But my most played solo right now is Dwellings of Eldervale. Something about it has me hooked. So I am really looking forward to trying Andromeda's Edge when my pre order arrives.
I've played Arkham and think it's excellent, haven't tried LotR. I haven't tried Mage Knight yet, I feel like it's always on my "if I see it on sale" list and I just haven't pulled the trigger! No Voidfall for me yet, I want to try before I buy (it scares me a little) Dorfromantik looks great! Andromeda's Edge is on my Christmas wishlist... fingers crossed it's under the tree!
I have! I like the original a little more, but I think I like the computer game more than either, it’s just so quick and you don’t have to shuffle 3,000 cards!
I knew Spirit Island would be number 1. Totally sick of seeing that game on top 10 lists. Very overrated. You know you have a great top 10 solo games list when it doesn’t feature Spirit Island.
Thats your reason to sneak out of the social humiliation, really? Being a wussy about loosing? Wtf man, just say you like complicated and Difficult games and teaching people who just like Cards, monopoly and pandemic for 3 hours is a waste of your time... Or something else like that, idk man... That opener was so weak.
these are all absolute masterpieces of games, but they are not games intended for solo play exclusively, (with the exception of final girl)... sure, they provide a good solo experience, but I strongly recommend you also try some games that are designed to play exclusively solo: + Mage knight (sure yeah, you can play it with more players, but you really don't want to, solo is where it's at, this one is yhe ULTIMATE solo experience) + witchcraft (spiritual successor to resist!) + Warp's Edge + Black Sonata + Under Falling skies + Conservas + after the virus + Friday + Oniverse series of games (specially cyberion and onirim) + coffee roasters + lost expedition + For Northwood (the only one player trick taking game) + Hadrian's Wall + Maquis + Legacy of Yu + washed ashore (from fate flip) + unreliable wizard + Button Shy games like Rove and Food Chain Island + " SOLO game of the Month" games (that's the actual name if the Comoany) if you can find them, like: Rome fate of an empire, Hunted Kobayashi tower, Hunted mining colony 415, Dieson Crusoe, quest over coffee, etc. + "Wraith of the Lighthouse" is an expansion to imperial settlers empires of the north, which allows you to grab any faction from any of the other competitive expansions, and play a solo campaign, killer! I hope you can enjoy some of those recommendations ; )
I didn't say it in the video because I'm a FOOL but subscribe if you're not already! Give me your souls!
Mmmmm... Souls.
Such a good video! Good luck, man!
Thank you muchly!

Yeah I hate that it’s the worst to get praise
Great video! I liked that you took the time and effort to put out the actual game on the table
My favorite solo game is Mage Knight. I'm going to be trying Frost Punk soon, so maybe that will be an excellent choice. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video, enjoyed the reviews as well as the extra effort creating the clone story line, unanticipated and cool!
So many twists and turns!
Happy to see Project Elite on here!! love this game.. not solo but still very underrated IMO
Great Video overall!
Thank you!

I’m mostly playing TM with the computer game version but I do love it!
Really good video ! You deserve more subscribers for sure !!
I won't tell anyone if you make a million accounts!
Awesome video. You're bits are hilarious
No YOURS are!
Great stuff! Was totally expecting the name of one of those clones to be Jeff, ha! Too Many Bones is my #1 solo game.
TMB is great! Probably my 11!
Spirit Island IS fantastic

I have played 0 of those! My solo game to-play list grows…
My brother, print out the ARNO automa for Ark Nova, it makes the solo play at least 10 times better.
Good list.
TEN TIMES? Heading to my local library now

It is truly way too hard to shuffle the physical cards
Uprising and Paladins - pretty fun looking
Nice to see Uprising on a list 😊

Love "Duniverse"
Great list.
Looks like I'm going shopping.
Denis Villeneuve needs to write that one down!
Great list! My current favorite solo game is Imperium:Horizons
Ooh I’ve played Classics!
Great choices. Right in league with my own. I’m bummed I never did jump on Uprise, but you can’t own them all. Another couple I would like to suggest if you have not tried is Maximum Apocalypse, and Fallen Land 2nd Edition.
I have not tried! I will look them up!
lol!!!!! You had me laughing immediately. Subscribed!!
Frostpunk and ISS Vanguard. Several of your listed ones I would like to add to my shelf.
ISS Vanguard looks gorgeous! I gotta check that one out!
A lot of overlap on our top tens with this one - never thought to try Project Elite solo but you may have convinced me here.
It's a nice break from the more brain-burny options!
0:38 had me crackin up lol 😂
Love Paladins!! What’s your thoughts on Wayfarers of the South Tigris solo? I think they are a tied on my list.
Well now I’m intrigued! I haven’t tried any of the South Tigris games yet!
I see that TMB trove chest behind you!! ... Did you forget about TMB??
I didn’t! It’s my number 11 (and could easily get on the list if I had made it on a different day in a different mood)
The problem with project elite is that it's imposible to find 😢
Wait what?? That sucks! I think I got it from Miniature Market a year and a half (ish) ago, hopefully they do another printing!
Love Project Elite I also solo it
Stupid Jeff!
A major development in the lore, huzzah!
Don’t get me started on Jeff
Neb looks like a never-nude. But also, he is really good at board games.
I always have cutoffs, just in case.
How did you make Project Elite work with the official solo rules?
I'm not totally sure what you mean-I've only played the official version (I did realize while editing that I only set up the board with one character which is incorrect, it's 2 characters for solo)
Have you tried sentinels of the multiverse? It’s by the same game company that made spirit island
I’ve gotta get it on tabletop simulator or something, I’ve heard so much about it!
I’m kicking myself for not grabbing Monumental when it was discounted on Amazon a few months ago.
Keep an eye out! I got it for a slight discount on Boardlandia, I believe

I really like your channel. Lots of funny bits.
I do it all for you
@@boardandsaviorgames no one‘s ever done anything for me. Let alone make a board game RUclips video.😂
What if you lost a solo game and it turned out to be designed by Jeff?
Arson
I love Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition solo. Wonderful game. Have you played it?
I have! I like the original a little more, but I think I like the computer game more than either, it’s just so quick and you don’t have to shuffle 3,000 cards!

welcome
Cthulu isn't actually an Elder God. He's a Cleric of the Old Ones. Think less deity, more Bishop 😎👍
Thank you for this, I love me some lore!
No Space Hulk Death Angel?!? I'm not mad, just disappointed. *heavy dad sigh*
You have to know that's worse! Get mad, please!!
Why not add the names of the games to the chapter list? I usually subscribe to game channels that do this.
I prefer not to, but if that makes you decide to keep away, no hard feelings!
Duneverse😂😂😂😂
I knew someone would appreciate it haha
Pfff seeing marvel champions as number 8 instead of number 1 🤦
I’m so sorry mabos555
I knew Spirit Island would be number 1. Totally sick of seeing that game on top 10 lists. Very overrated. You know you have a great top 10 solo games list when it doesn’t feature Spirit Island.
Hell yeah you tell ‘em
That’s right, baby cakes!
I agree. I tried and tried but never experienced the greatness that others do.
@@donnakeferlis1649 I literally quit and got disgusted a little more than halfway through my first game. Immediately sold it.
I agree

+ Mage knight (sure yeah, you can play it with more players, but you really don't want to, solo is where it's at, this one is yhe ULTIMATE solo experience)
+ witchcraft (spiritual successor to resist!)
+ Warp's Edge
+ Black Sonata
+ Under Falling skies
+ Conservas
+ after the virus
+ Friday
+ Oniverse series of games (specially cyberion and onirim)
+ coffee roasters
+ lost expedition
+ For Northwood (the only one player trick taking game)
+ Hadrian's Wall
+ Maquis
+ Legacy of Yu
+ washed ashore (from fate flip)
+ unreliable wizard
+ Button Shy games like Rove and Food Chain Island
+ " SOLO game of the Month" games (that's the actual name if the Comoany) if you can find them, like: Rome fate of an empire, Hunted Kobayashi tower, Hunted mining colony 415, Dieson Crusoe, quest over coffee, etc.
+ "Wraith of the Lighthouse" is an expansion to imperial settlers empires of the north, which allows you to grab any faction from any of the other competitive expansions, and play a solo campaign, killer!

Quite a bunch of those are on my list! Thanks for the comment!
