You will not go wrong listening to more IU. She is so eclectic in her musical styles and can be serious or playful, and a lot of her music is autobiographical. As you said at the start she has plenty of songs that sound like they've been plucked straight from a musical. Also... there are some IU songs that Kerry will not be able to handle. Seriously moving and emotional.

You might be interested in checking out her latest album "The Winning" - it's a mini-album and she released 4 MVs, it would be good introduction as well since the genres are very different and showcase her range. This is lee Ji Eun the woman behind the IU phenomenon an uber presence is Korea's entertainment industry. She sings anything live and in studio like an angel, she composes she acts. I think I prefer IU live than studio and I'm hardly alone. Nominated to around over 320 awards winning "only" about 130. Including best album, best song, best artist, best new actress. having the most perfect all kills ever with 22, the 2nd in the list has 7. I could go for days, cause she's a philanthropist, entrepreneur and ambassador for many brands and private initiatives and she's the bravest person I have seen this century. You should hear her sing love poem. There is something called a PAK (Perfect All Kill), where one song is #1 on iChart (a Korean music chart aggregator) at the same time for the real time, daily, and weekly charts in Korea. She has the most songs with a PAK in Korea, 22 songs, and second place only has 7 songs to put it into perspective!
