I've been a HUGE Uaena (Fandom Name)for 5 years now. She sold out the Olympic Stadium un Seoul for 2 nights, for her Golden Hour concert (Recommend it) She is probably the "Taylor Swift" type of influence in Asian countries. She writes all of her songs too.. When she makes a comeback, everyone just steps aside and listens with amazement. She is also an accomplished and Award-winning Actress, "Hotel Del Luna" is not to be missed. Love how you guys like her too.

But she is known as 'Korea's Little Sister' because of that sweet vibe she puts off. It really seems like she is ALWAYS a sweetheart, a gentle soul, never a negative thing to say about anybody (maybe about situations but she does not point fingers directly at specific people, really). She's easy-going and apparently really easy to talk to. Seems like EVERYBODY just loves her after meeting her. Lots of Actors, Soloists and Idols stan her (BTS V and JK among MANY). :)

I'm so glad to see you reacting to IU. To me she is the Greatest KPOP singer ever and it's not even close. Her voice is full of so much emotion and it just hits you when she sings. My favorite song by her is Hold my Hand which was actually the first song she personally wrote.
Because of this episode of "Killing Voice" in Dingo, it's very easy to know why IU is called "Nation's Treasure" there. She is the only one under 45 years old in the 20 people "The Best Singers of Our Era" list selected by main music critics "IZM" in Korea. Besides this, she is one of the best music producer, lyricist, and model in Korea. She is also famous by compose the song of herself. And, she has unusual social influence in young generation, many people under 40 years old consider her a mental instructor.

You should listen to IU singing live, her live singing is even better than the studio version. It's a reason why her concerts are sold out within minutes & you get your money worth as her concerts can last more than 5 hours with encore & re-encore. For re-encore she changed to her comfortable clothes, talk to the audience like a friend & sings requests.
iu is the most genuine, adorable human being ever. she’s such a badass when she performs but if you watch her like behind the scenes stuff (there’s a treasure trove of content on her yt channel under “iu tv”) you’ll find out that she’s just a slightly awkward, super sweet, sometimes clumsy little dork. there’s a reason why everyone who’s worked with her always sings her praises.

I discovered IU in 2015 when she released 23. I was into KPOP for about 2.5 years at that point. I immediately dug into her previous work and fell in love with her Modern Times album. I played it over and over for weeks. At that time Ailee was my favorite solo, but IU took that spot. IU never lets me down, but surprises me with songs like Bibi and Coin. Her live performances are to die for.

15 years later and still absolutely the top of the game, at least in Korea. One of the few people that is maybe more adorable at 30 than she was at 18. Carefree attitude is standard for a diva, and she is THE kpop diva. Just a really sweet and adorable one.

It's a reason why her concerts are sold out within minutes & you get your money worth as her concerts can last more than 5 hours with encore & re-encore. For re-encore she changed to her comfortable clothes, talk to the audience like a friend & sings requests.
iu is the most genuine, adorable human being ever. she’s such a badass when she performs but if you watch her like behind the scenes stuff (there’s a treasure trove of content on her yt channel under “iu tv”) you’ll find out that she’s just a slightly awkward, super sweet, sometimes clumsy little dork. there’s a reason why everyone who’s worked with her always sings her praises.

She is a great story teller. And she uses her MV's to add depth and meaning to the story beyond the lyrics. That being said her live performances are stunning and sound as good if not better than the recorded version.
Some of her stories encompass multiple songs, like You & I, Above the Time, Blueming and Strawberry Moon which takes you on the journey of a young constantly separated by, time, dimension, barriers. The story starts in 2011 as IU completes the Time Machine her grandfather started in order to go forward in time to when her guy is out of his coma. The date she sets is Dec. 31st 2019. In Dec of 2019 she released the song Above the Time from her Love Poem album which also contains Blueming. In Sep on 2021 she released Strawberry Moon which completes the story.
EIGHT is perhaps the saddness song with the most upbeat sound EVER written. It is about IU's struggles dealing with the suicide deaths of 3 close friends. Junghyun of Shinee in 2017, Her very good friend Sulli in the fall of 2019 just as IU was starting her Love Poem tour and Goo Hara around 30 days later. IU found out about Goo's death during her concert and had a difficult time finishing it. But in true IU style and class as she talked to her audience she expressed concerned for her fans and urged them to take care of one another.

I discovered IU in 2015 when she released 23. I was into KPOP for about 2.5 years at that point. I immediately dug into her previous work and fell in love with her Modern Times album. I played it over and over for weeks. At that time Ailee was my favorite solo, but IU took that spot. IU never lets me down, but surprises me with songs like Bibi and Coin. Her live performances are to die for.
