I cannot thank you enough for such informative video, I like both the content of the video and your calm personality and relaxing voice as this topic is a bit tense for us new mama to be
wouw 👏🏼👏🏼 This is a great video. I’ve watched many videos of medela machines and No one talking about their lifetime. I was looking for a good pump and I’ve seen many negative reviews about this machines stop working after 6 months or so. Now, I can understand why they don’t work anymore.
This is a great video. I live in. NY and our private insurance covered our old Medela pump. It was the boxy one, noisy and quite old. We gave it away after using it. Now pregnant with baby#2 the insurance covered another pump. We were able to upgrade to the freestyle for an additional $242. Haven't used it yet. But I think I made the correct choice
Sorry for the delay in replying to your message! Have you had a chance to use the pump that you upgraded to now? You are lucky that you had the coverage in your insurance to get that upgrade! Would love to know what you think of the freestyle?
does the freestyle not switch over to expression mode in its own? also are the connectors (plastic pieces) not interchangeable with the pump and style and the freestyle?
Just had a question about the lifespan hours...if the flex has 250 hrs x 60 mins, /45 mins is 333 days. Where you said the pump in style is 45 mins a day for a year (365 days) would mean the PIS is actually a longer lifespan?
do these pumps have the "vibration" feeling like the spectra? I am trying to find a newer pump that does not do that motion similar to how the old instyle was more of a smooth pump or how the ameda platinum pumps (but smaller)
Hi Drew, I am not sure what you mean by the vibration feeling, as we don't have the spectra here in Canada as yet so I cant comment. Did you make a purchase in the end?
Thank you for this video! Is there any difference on pumping between the two? Maybe that the Pump In Style can get more milk or anything that differentiate both of them in that sense?
Hi Claudia, You are most welcome, we love making these videos! The amount someone will be able to pump will vary from person to person hugely based on multiple factors so it's not as easy to differentiate them in the way you would like us to. We have identified the main factors that you should be aware of in the two pumps to help you make your decision. One of the things that makes the most difference in the volume you can pump is often the correct breast shield/flange sizes. We have a separate video on our channel for that.
@@newmummyco. has that video been done? I’m curious freestyle flex vs sonata! Also, for the freestyle flex if the battery is low can you plug it in to charge and pump at the same time?
Do you mean in comparison to the Flex in the video or the Symphony pump? Just wanted to clarify as you commented on that video too. The hospital grade pump is really the only hospital grade pump that Medela make. In terms of the pump in style, it refers to the technology they are using in the new pump in style but as an entry level double pump it is a little like comparing oranges and apples when you compare the pump in style and the symphony.
Hi David, thank you for your feedback. The older pump in style was a real workhorse of a pump and incredibly popular mainly due to its reliability and overall use. Unfortunately the old pump in style is no longer available for purchase and we would not recommend purchasing a second hand pump in style.
@@hannahburke6056 that is correct. I repair breast pumps for company in maryland Meleda symphony medela classic Ameda SMB. Ameda ultra all the true hospital pumps . Have been doing it for many year.s.

Good info, but I think you mixed up the bags? The links you posted show the grey bag to the pump in style, and the black to the flex?
Thanks for pointing this out Jodi, the bags were mixed up! Simple human error!
Hello,
My “pump in style” stopped working. The orange membrane inside does move, the motor makes the noise though. How can troubleshoot it?
It's not clear if they are both portable pumps. Are they both portable? Or do you have to stay plugged in with the pump in style?
does the freestyle not switch over to expression mode in its own? also are the connectors (plastic pieces) not interchangeable with the pump and style and the freestyle?
Yayy Canadian video
Greay Information ! Being a new parent., This will help us a lot
Thank you and huge congratulations on your new baby! I hope you are all doing well!
I think you switched the bags. The nicer bag actually comes with the pump in style max
Old video, it may have been the case when they originally came out.

I had the exact same question. The only thing I could find online is that is has 1 year warranty.
Same question. Which one is longer lifespan?
Same question, when I did the math the PIS had longer lifespan.. helpful video but really annoying she doesn’t compare apples to apples
Thanks for the useful info (and for the pronunciation by the way). Greetings from Chile!
Exactly the video I was looking for! Thanks
Thank you! So pleased that this was able to help you.
Thanks❤
Are both have the same amount of power pump?
Very helpful info, thanks )) does the suction of these compare to medela symphony?
Hi, is the suction quality the same across both pumps?
Hello. The pump In Style Max Flow has a very effective pump.
she mixed up the the Max Flow and Freestyle at 15:34

How different between maxflow and sonata? Hope that it has one clip to show this different

Hi great video. The Pump In Style says it has a hospital performance so how it's the other one in comparison? Thanks

Helpful 💯
Thank you! So pleased that its had a positive impact for you!
I have the first one the noise don’t bother me
dont buy either. Low suction volume and low suction strength waste of money if you want pump in style buy the older P.I.S unit. works better. Fact.

I would expect an response like that from you. Its all about you making sales $$ not about what works best for the user.

You mixed up the bags
Hi Laura, yes there was a mistake with the bags! We will have a new video coming soon where we can clarify the bags that come with each pump.
Dude, the video is good but do you really think breastfeeding moms want to spend 25 min watching review?
