- I made this a little tribute video to one of the greatest bands ever in history.
Hope you like it.
Elo live in cologne/germany 1982.
It is really amazing how similar jeff lynne´s voice sound.
"Acroos the Universe" and "A day in the life"
5:05 when Jeff sings "He didn't notice that the lights had changed" it sounds like he's crying. :(
There are a few other times, but that one is the most noticeable.
Jeff''s is singing this song with so much passion that you can feel it. So beautifully done!
They could have played 3 ELO songs instead, but they didnt. They did an amazing tribute to John instead. Much respect! The 'TIME' tour was amazing. Too bad no official Live video or audio is out there. A shame! Despite not having the cellos, the band was tight and they approached the 80s with an amazing album.
Can you imagine the sound was taken by a cheap cassette recorder from a fan in the crowd. Well done Mr. or MRS. Fan.
I love Jeff Lynne's version of Across the Universe and A day in a life.
"It is really amazing how similar jeff lynne´s voice sound." Only in YOUR HEAD and I think it's because it's Lennon's lyrics. The mind plays tricks, you know. I love both John and Jeff, but sorry - they are each their OWN vocalists. George Martin remarked that when John sang this (or he listens to the tape) "It sends a chill down the spine." Now Jeff sang a change in "You Took My Breath Away" with The Travelling Wilburys that I just absolutely LOVE. Check it out when you can . . .
LOVE JEFF LYNNE & ELO.
LOVE JOHN LENNON & THE BEATLES....
Heaven!
There both initials are JL strangely.
Wow! I never thought about that. On the Eldorado album Jeff Lynne's voice is very similar to John.
Super well done jena4!!!! Thank you!
WOAH JEFF WITH NO MUSTACHE!?!? I didn't think that could happen!
This tour was my first ever concert - the John Lennon tribute was a highlight
ok am jealous
3:05
Why have I not seen this earlier I’ve missed so many things because I was born in 2006, Love you Jeff and we all miss you John
They are The Beatles from Outer Space & don't you ppl forget it! lol Cool upload jena4. You sound like you're related to Judy Jetson..lol
0:09 Imagine
2:03 Across The Universe
4:23 A Day In The Life
Jeff is perfection in “A Day in the Life.”
Thank you so much for this awesome ❤
,,,I was there, Buffalo, 1980, Time Tour ........................ amazing!
Love it, thanks Jena4.
ELO and Jeff Lynne are out of this world in talent!
My favorite song done by my favorite artist. Thank you, Jeff.
Across the universe.
...
I grew up with the Beatles, their music and sound like no other, John was my hero, then along came elo, wow no comparison, two great musicians, like going back in time, two voices one sound 👍🎸🎸❤️❤️
Jeff Lynne has a very similar sounding voice as the Beatles members did. He is on the same level as talented as any of the them.
no, he doesn't sound like John, but he sings it in the same exact way and manner, hands down.
Wow! I always remember hearing this at the NEC in Birmingham on the Time Tour. We went twice because we had the worst snow ever on the night of the first show and ELO put on an additional concert a few days later at half price for those that couldn't make it the first night! Never thought I'd hear this again. Thanks.
I'm thinking you did a good job on this Jennifer!
Love this , Beautiful Tribute , Jeff was Heavly influenced by the Beatles , as we were , THANKS jena4 . PEACE
"He didn't notice that the light had changed," Poor Jeff's voice cracking there is heartbreaking.
FY troll
@@classicrockfan8034 I think he meant it in generosity that he sounded sad.
I SAW THE TIME TOUR IN 1981 IT WAS THE BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. JEFF LYNNE HAS A NEW ALBUM TO BE RELEASED AROUND JUNE 2011
If this was the Time tour in 81 at Wembley Arena, I was there, what a moment, sent shivers down your spine, superb, unforgettable, I have so many memories from 76 ( my first concert ) to what will most likely be the last and my 8th, Birmingham in April 2016, can't wait, love you Jeff. Xxxxx
Stella Smith we're going to see John and George in the Kingdom, here on paradise earth.
I know this is 6 years old but you're right on that we will see John and George again in the Kingdom on Earth someday
This is so beautiful, Thank you for sharing this treasure!
SIMPLY SENSATIONAL....
HUGS FROM BRAZIL,
ROSANGELA D'ORO
Awesome!!!
I was there
Must have been great
What concert was this recorded at?
Oh my goodness, You were blessed to have been their live!
@lovencare62 whoops, you were right... I just checked, he calls em son of the Beatles!!
7 thumbs down can't imagine what their lives are like
Ya you cant
Jeff Lynne = God
Agreed! And Telephone Line is very like How, Mr Blue Sky like A Day in the Life, etc, etc! But it's all great! ELO were the Beatles of the 70s!
lovencare62, do you know when/where he said that the ELO was The Beatles' son?
Fabulous! I'd forgot about this, I had it on a crappy bootleg casette I bought at a record fair, but this is miles better. Thanks for uploading, much appreciated!
There were two song writers on this song! Dismissing Paul was an unnecessary insult to the man! Very sad, indeed!
As a Beatle MANIAC I can say that Jeff Lynnes voice doesnt sound that much like Johns... but Jeff if my second favourite artist(after John) so of course, he did a pretty awesome job... good vid!
Jeff once remarked that 21st Century man from the Time album was a kind of dedication to John Lennon.
Even though it made me cry. Love me some John Lennon.
The Beatles has influenced the whole career
of Jeff Lynne. ELO´s Mister Kingdom is
very similar to Beatles´ Across the Universe
in some places !
me too.. almost :) the moment were Jeff sings "I read the news today, ooooh boooy" is awesome!!!
oh my gooooood I luuuuuv it.
ELO brother of BEATLES
The awesomenest keyboards I have ever heard..I wanna be there..:'(
Very nice. Would be great with a little digital clean up of the background noise though...
Impossible it was recorded by a fan on a cheap cassette recorder
Jeff Lynne forever!!!
Amazing... first time I've heard that live since 16 December 81 in Edinburgh - my first ever concert. Great sound quality.
Was at that very same Ingliston show... heavy snow on the way home?
@@TheDickola The locks on the car had frozen by the end of the concert... plus the pipes had burst at home!
@@NicholasSadlier will always associate freezing weather with that night - superb
so what if he got some wrong this tribute is beautiful
4:57 Jeff playing left handed?
He did! When he was guest DJ'ing on an American Radio show just before introducing ''Showdown'' in 1974 I think it was
good stuff
@lovencare62 I think his actual comment was "son of the walrus" - I have it on tape somewhere... then he mentioned one of his favorite songs was ELO's "Showdown"... he was very complimentary...
This sounds good ! I hope Jeff Lynne would have done a song about John Lennon those days. I´m sure it would have been great.
great share mdog.... gets to a guy alittle what a time we were all so lucky.
I thought his voice sounded alot like John's. Either way its a very nice tribute.
magical... emotional...amazing
thankyou for posting Jena:)
so what if he got some wrong this tribute is beautiful
Rfor, what year was that concert? The Time album?
God Bless you John 1940 -1980 ... 30 years on
Thank you! Let's get him in the Hall of Fame.
Wonderful video - awesome!
Too bad, ELO never visited Finland. Great tribute ! Jeff Lynne sings A Day in the Life
exactly like John Lennon.
They did !
Wundervoll. Sie sind groß. Danke
john would have been proud.
Wow!!! Thank you, es genial!!!
Very very well done.
@norwind that's forty lo
beaucoup de recherches ...bravo cela me plait
Makes me cry, really.
nowhere man
nowhere man
Bliss !
It is very strange that Jeff Lynne has never made a Christmas song for ELO to present. Or maybe an album ! Perfect timing for an ELO Xmas album would have been in November 1978 to release.
very cool ! i've heard about this for years but never heard it. of course it sounds amazing. if only john lennon and jeff lynne could've worked together. at least he got to work with george harrison and we have "when we was fab".
+Brian Carter And also the Anthology! Jeff was respoonsble for the singles Free as a Bird and REal Lovel
+Brian Carter Not to mention the Travelling Wilburys ;-)
офигенно
...ELO is son of Beatles, john lennon said.
This sucks
You suck!
