Beautiful mission, I was there one time about 60 years ago for a fourth grade field trip. It seems to look much better now!

My grandfather lived in Gilroy and would drive to this mission and attend mass every Sunday. It’s a beautiful mission and the San Andreas fault runs right behind it.

San Juan Bautista is the original name of the island of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico was the name of the town founded at the bay.

For being so relatively closer in proximity to the San Andreas [Geological] Fault, I am aghast at just how well the mission church buildings have withstood earthquakes; both milder and more severe alike 😀😀😀😀😀.
