My skin is similar to yours, but I am a decade older. This is my never fail foundation. Most people think I don't wear make-up - just have great skin. That is a huge selling point for me.
That foundation looks beautiful on you. It’s actually one of my favorites! Nice amount of coverage but still looks natural. I never hear people talk about it so I’m glad your reviewed it.
I got this foundation as a free gift from Ulta and honestly, I didn't have high hopes. Boy, was I shocked. First of all, I am able to find my perfect shade match which NEVER happens. Secondly, it's just no fuss. It always looks good and wears well. I love it. It has quickly become my favorite foundation.
Have been in love with this foundation for almost a decade! So glad you enjoyed it too!! Goes to show it’s a truly beautiful foundation for everyone!! 😄💕💕
You’ve just coined what should be a book entitled “Life with Ziva.” You’re more than generous! The foundation looks great, especially after a full day. I need the dew seriously give me that dew! Thanks for the chatter, info, Ziva, and an “A” in the books. Have a great weekend ahead. Much love and kisses to Ziva and Co. 🐈⬛🐾🐾
That foundation has a beautiful look! It looks so fresh, glowing & healthy. I think it will makes my skin look younger, so I am going to have to give it a try myself!! I hope my skin looks as good !
100% This will help your skin look dewy and healthy. I have never received compliments over my “glowing” skin until I started wearing this. Best of all, I really think it has actually improved my skin health and texture. I cannot say enough good things about it. Oh and I have super sensitive skin and my skin loves it. (I’m about the same age as she is) Try it!
I just tried this for the first time in January of this year and it quickly became my favorite. Absolutely stunning on the skin and I feel blurs my fine lines. I can’t believe I had never tried it before but so glad I did! It looks best on me when I blend with my fingers.
You’re on a roll with reviewing the exact products I’ve been eyeing. I’m on the hunt for a foundation that will be my friend. They all just really age me lately. So I either go barefaced and deal with redness or wear foundation and look older, and that’s no fun.
Wow, that one held up amazingly well! It looks practically as good as when you put it on! Fab make-up day plus Ziva the Diva cameo equals excellent video in my books - what's not to love?!
that foundation was my favorite for quite a while yrs ago, very hydrating, a solid medium coverage, and at a reasonable price, but then I went cruelty free and I obviously didn't repurchase, but I really liked it... your skin looks great 👍 say hi to Ziva 😸
Hello, i'm cruelty free too and my old cruelty free foundation don't work anymore. My skin became dry and foundation accentuate wrinkles and dry zones.Would you have some recommandation please? Best regards
@@Lighttriumphs hi there! I too have dry skin and lean towards more hydrating foundations, I don't know what finish do you prefer, I like natural or glowy finishes, the IT Cosmetics CC Nude Glow's been my go-to since it came out, also the Tower 28 tinted sunscreen, both leave a glowy finish, but for really humid days when tackiness doesn't help much 😁 I like the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better + Skincare (those names 🙄) it has a more natural finish... hope it helps 🤗... greetings!
Dear Shelly, I would ask that you "add" this comment to everyone of your videos. You are the most fun, "no judgement", kind, honest and caring best friend that everyone wish they had. Your investigations and evaluations of foundations are so thoughtful, thorough, honest and detailed. I trust them and you 100% and take it to the bank. In addition, you can't help but notice what a kind, warm comfortable and loving home that your cat's enjoy. Thank you for all that you do and provide to your viewers. I look forward to each and every video. As to this video, I have found that "Clinique" products are practically perfect! (though pricey, but definitely worth it!). Thanks for this review.
Hi Shelly. I love this foundation. I also like the even better refresh which is more hydrating but fuller coverage so I just sheer it out. I’m also going to try the even better glow. I love Clinique, it really doesn’t get enough credit for its products. Xxx
Thank you for always giving us a really close close-up of the foundations. It’s so helpful. ❤ This foundation looks really nice on you. I’m thinking of buying it thanks to your review, but I’m still uncertain of what colour I should choose.
What a lovely and fun video! A great foundation (long-time favorite of mine) AND some Ziva-time! My tube of "Even Better" is long-expired; you've inspired me to repurchase. Thanks!
It Looks Awesome ❤ Makes You Look More Youthful And That Glow…I Love It On You 🎉 I’m Shade 104 Toffee And I Was Matched Around 11 AM…Fell Asleep In It And It Still Looked Good Around 3 Am 😂
Clinique has some excellent foundations! I agree with you on the shade names. I wear Cream Chamois in Clinique which is also very fair but in reality, I’m solidly just a light skin tone.
Former Clinique consultant, here! Even Better was always in the "Top Ten" products, year after year. I had boocoodles of customers who wore only that foundation, and would become seriously irate if we didn't have their shade in stock when they needed it. Those were the days! 😂 It looks very pretty on you- be sure to check out the serum, too!
Ooh I've heard great things about the Serum version of this too! It's the one in a funny looking bottle, like a fat cone shape with the corners very rounded off. I know The Fancy Face here on RUclips really likes that foundation, and she has super oily skin - but I've heard others with normal or dry skin like it too! Both these Clinique foundations are on my To Try list 😁
This is my go to old stand by foundation for over 10 yrs! I try new ones and like them but this one is my favorite. The Clinique Even Better Serum foundation is amazing also especially as I get older and in the colder months.
Thanks for trying this, now I know I should add it to my list.. Still searching for a great, more affordable foundation, as opposed to the pricey designer ones that seem to get the most praise.
Hi Shelley this one looked great on you and wow an A lol. I really struggle with the shades in Clinique, which is a shame as I would have tried this one. Their lightest "cool" toned shade is not that light nor cool - at least not enough for my pasty white Scottish skin. I just can't get anything that matches and I really hate having to mix my shade in more expensive foundations (plus mixing does alter the performance). I went to Edinburgh yesterday and hit the makeup counters, as I'm looking for a new foundation. Swatching I found 5 I think might work shade wise and got a sample for each, so I'll be trying them out over the next several days. Some of them are not new releases, but are foundations I haven't tried as yet. I think the Givenchy and Nars are the newest (both in the lightest shade available lol), but I also got the Shiseido, Tom Ford and UD. So many others I swatched were far too dark in the lightest shades eg Kosas, Rose Inc, LM, BB, Chanel, YSL, Anastasia, Huda, Hourglass, by Terry, Fenty, EL, Clinique etc - lots of swatching lol. I really enjoy foundation reviews, but so many I think might work from a formulation standpoint just don't have shades for the palest folk I'm afraid. Most brands are getting much better at having good deep shades and more diversity, but the palest of us out here are not being well catered to. I went to Boots, John Lewis, Harrods beauty and Space NK for my samples btw. I did enjoy my wandering around all the makeup counters and my poor partner stood outside each store as I did so (he's not that keen on shopping lol), but we did go for dinner before going home (also a couple of coffees to break up the shopping). Hopefully one of the samples I did get works really well for me. They have reformulated an old faithful (the Lancome teint idole) and discontinued my shade 008 Beige Opale. The lightest shade in the new version is very yellow and the lightest cooler shade is far too dark. My local rep gave me a bunch of samples of my shade (they were going in the bin otherwise), so I still have a decent amount of it however it is gone and what I have won't last forever. best wishes.
Love this one, only just got a sample of this one and in the same colour and like you mentioned, I give it an A 🎉 I forgot to mention, I’m in late 50’s and have dry skin.
I've been interested lately in the foundations that are standing the test of time. Love it when I find my magical back up. Always organized in a logical location, then lost and I can't remember what my thought process was. Hehe Thanks!
The current items lost in my world are my Jones Road balms and What the Foundation. I had the 3 jars stacked and I kept knocking them over, so I found a great place to put them - and now I can't remember where they are and I can't find them. How is that even possible?? There aren't that many places I can reach from my vanity chair and I wouldn't put them out of reach because I use them a lot. Seriously. Where did I put them?!?!?!? Only I can lose stuff in like a 3 foot radius.
I've had good luck with all of the ones I've tried except the Beyond Perfecting - the other 3 I've tried scored B+ and this one I'd say is a smidge better than those :) I have to update my spreadsheet with this one but if you search Clinique the other ones and their scores will come up - geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/
I always get the winter results when I do those tests! (though I've never done a proper one with a real color consultant, just the online free versions).

Hi Shelly! You and I are the same shades in your foundations.. thank you so so much for sharing all of your beautiful videos and taking the time to do all of your reviews! I have a question about the Clinique even better foundation :). You say you wear Ivory. Is this the shade you wear year round or do u wear another shade in the colder months?? If you do… which shade do you wear in those months?? Thank you!!!
Did you set this with anything? I do t think you did, I usually set it with Laura Mercier and it breaks up sooooo much worse around my chin and upper lip. Do you think just letting it be without setting it will give a similar result to how it wore for you? Or is there a lighter powder you would suggest
I didn't set it (I try to avoid setting with powder if I can - it's more like a last resort for me) though I have been playing around with the Jones Road loose powder and it doesn't dry me out.
The Clinique doesn't do that thing... that sort of grippy thing that the MAC does when applied with fingertips.... the MAC may be a little longer wearing but I think the Clinique is easier to get a smidge more coverage out of. I love them both so I don't think there's a bad option here!
