Absolutely LOVE this foundation. I have dry skin with a somewhat oily t-zone. I do need to blot the t-zone during the day but it is so worth it. One of the only foundations that doesn’t feel drying on my face by the end of the day. This is also great for my sensitive skin with no fragrance or alcohols! It is slightly dewy on my skin and remains somewhat tacky if you mind that sort of thing. I don’t and am in love. I am a pretty good shade match to Shelly but maybe slightly fairer. I wear shad 213.
It amazes me how expensive some drugstore foundations are.... considering how Wet n Wild, Essence etc. can keeps their prices so low. I am also not a fan of skincare in makeup because I want to have more control over the percentage of actives going on my skin! (I have super sensitive skin, so I've worked hard on my skincare routines.) But, I always love a new foundation video, so thank you!!
My absolutely favorite new foundation (of drugstore, high end, and luxury). Looks gorgeous, last forever. Perfect! I have 113 probably because of the cool undertone!
You’re truly an amazing person with the best personality! One of a kind. Also- I’m 44yr and use to west the old original formula in my 20s. They changed the formula and I haven’t went back since. I’ll give it another go. Luv ya chica!
This is my new favorite foundation! I have oily skin so I have to set it a bit but I love it! The finish is definitely glowy or illuminating on my skin. Is sooooo not matte on my skin not even after I set it with powder. I'm fascinated that it's matte on your skin!
I love the CVS carepass for that reason, too. You also receive 20 percent off CVS brand products, like pain relievers. I couldn't figure out which shade to purchase. I am a cool-neutral to cool-pink, and I go warmer. Seeing what this shade looks like on you, I plan to buy that shade. Also, I really love the eyeshadow. Complements your hazel eyes.
I’m late to the party, but I got my bottle in the mail today and I am so excited to try it. I did swatch it and it’s so glowy so I can’t wait to actually get to use it. Thanks as always for your review!
Ziva clearly approved this one and that’s all I needed to go buy it! Lol seriously though, excited to try it, used to love their older formulation but it wasn’t hydrating enough for my retin a- dry skin. Thank u Shelley for another solid review🥰
I love your hair, Shelly! And of course your eye makeup is beautiful as usual. The foundation looks great on you, especially outdoors. I hope Revlon is going to bring it to the UK soon.
This is the review that convinome to give it another try. I was matched to the shade that you wore and it was ghastly on me, though it lasted through my 15 hour workday. I kept looking in person and using color matching tools, and then was matched to 213. It leans a wee bit cool, but so far the color match is decent. I do like the subtle luminosity this gave. I really wanted to like this foundation and your review convinced me to try again. Thank you.
I went and got color matched at Sephora for the first time the other day since I was buying the Haus Labs foundation. I always thought I was neutral leaning cool, but I am actually neutral leaning warm (a hint of yellow, they said 🤯). So it turns out I’m not your color twin. I always thought I was! (I’m 220 in Haus Labs, which blew my pale mind. Of course, my face and neck are two different colors. My neck is much paler.)
That tool they used to use to scan your face (I don't know if they still do it!) always put me at either 1Y03 or 1R03 (basically neutral, leaning either way) but I prefer the look of slightly cool on me. So I buy neutral shades for summer (because my arms do lean more neutral when they get a little sun and I'm usually attempting to match my shoulders/arms in the summer) and neutral-cool for winter.
Honestly Sephora has no idea what they doing when they colour match. They put me 2 shades darker with yellow undertone but any warm toned foundation makes my face look pale or orange. I use neutral cool and it matches me every time. Also the colour saturation is important. I use cool foundations but if they are visibly red or dark pinkish they still doesn't match me.. It needs to be pinky beige/ivory for me to work with. Tone (warm or cool) Saturation (how much yellow or pink it looks) Brightness (light or dark) And also addition or grey or olive also affects the foundation match.
@@CrimsonWing67 I agree with you. After wearing the foundation in real life a couple of times, it’s just too dark. It makes me look so tan. They might have been right about me being a little yellow, though, but I see a lot of pink in my skin, too. So weird.
@JPMJPM the way I ended up finding my undertone was taking exactly same foundation with warm or cool undertone like the dior foundation and comparing the three (cool, neutral, warm). However that also is tricky sometimes because they write that it is a warm/cool but different brands differ in how cool or warm they are. You just have to get samples from a lot of different brands. Otherwise, good way for me to know was taking a red lipstick, one with a very strong blue(cool) undertone like ruby woo and then comparing it with something like chilli (brick red with orange undertone) and seeing which one looks less disturbing.
Hi Shelley this one seems to be getting some good reviews and that's a good thing as Revlon were struggling in 2022. They've been around such a long time and have some really good products (their liners are some of my most used), so it would be a shame to see them go. I like the streak of teal in your hair btw and best wishes. x
I specifically looked for a video that was reviewing the new Revlon illuminance foundation. I just bought it a couple of days ago. I am 67 years old, blonde hair and light skin. I found this at Walmart for $14. I originally tried 117. But it surprisingly was way too light. I found that 213 was almost a perfect match. Which I never would’ve guessed looking at the color in the bottle. I found that using my fingers gave me the most skin like finish. I had tried with a brush and with a sponge. But went back to applying with my fingers. I didn’t find it to have a matte finish. I really liked my finished look. I did not set it with powder. But did use a setting spray and a primer before applying. I used a setting spray after also. I kept touching my face all day because it felt incredibly soft. But I will have to say at 13 1/2 hours, there was not a speck of foundation left on my face. Perhaps a setting powder would have increased the longevity. But I liked the natural finish. I got without setting powder. Tomorrow I will have to check periodically to see how long it is actually holding up on my face. But I really like this foundation. I am super picky. I don’t like anything heavy anymore. I used to buy high end. But I am going with the drug store brands now. They are just as good.
These days drugstore brands have gotten so good that I could never say anyone needs to spend more. One of my favorite foundations is still the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator and I haven't checked lately but last time I bought it, it was $6!
@@goowI just bought the WNW Tinted Hydrator this week based on reviews and it is so, so good. I couldn’t believe it. I haven’t purchased or been interested in a Wet N Wild product since I was in high school, and I’m 49! I agree about drugstore quality being much improved in the last few years. And Shelly, you have me seeking out products with squalane now too! Love your content and reviews so much 😊.
Yes we love the cat cameos!!!😍😅 but I am really impressed because you always review every foundation, every bb or cc cream, every concealer etc etc, your work is really good !!
You are looking great. Have recently tried the Fiera luxury concealer. Thought that I was spending money on something that wasn't going to be good but really happy with it and not so expensive as By Terry
Hey Shelly! I'd love to see what you think of the L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable foundation. It's getting some good reviews, but your skin is the most like mine and I trust your reviews. I usually have pretty good luck with L'Oreal foundations. Hope you and your family and the kitties had a good holiday and are doing well 💜

I love the CVS Carepass too. For $5 you get $10 to spend online, free shipping, and you can layer multiple coupons. I can buy something for $20 and end up spending about $4.
Yep I always wonder how they make money - but I'm guessing not everybody realizes how you can stack all of their discounts and coupons so there's probably a lot of money left on the table.
So, I'm from Ohio and I am known to be Very Sarcastic, especially to my southern hubby; but, just wanted you to know I pick up on Each sarcastic thing you say,,, and it makes me Laugh out loud happy! 😎
Ok so I just got the one in 109, light ivory. It seems to be the only fair cool shade (according to the chart on the CVS site). I've only swatched it on my arm so far, not the face. You and I are often similar in foundation shades. It's a pretty good match for me right now in winter as far as lightness, but it's just a smidge too pink in some lighting. Just a tad. Once it's on you may not even be able to tell. 🤷♀️ We'll see. Could be another shade to check out if you are interested in other shades. :)
Great video and info as always, thank you! This foundation has been on my "I-think-I-want-that" list for some time, now, and yah... pretty sure I do want it (still trying to resist, though). Wishing you, Ziva, and your household a wonderful week!
Oh yay, Shelly! I was just going to ask you to review this because I thought it was ✨new✨(me, behind the times) and I want to try it. I have a neutral undertone and close to your skin tone. You got 117 light beige. It looks wonderful on you! I can't tell if I have warm or cool leanings. How do you figure that out? Now I have to figure out if I should go ivory or beige. I'm older (67) and my skin looks way older than your's. Gotta work with what I've got. 🎣
You should keep a ranking of foundations as you try them over the years, however, something that worked for me 5 years ago doesn’t work anymore, so the fact skin needs change, it might make it harder. Which concealer? I recently bought The Ordinary Amino Acid serum and the Resveratrol serum and they have completely wiped out my flakes. You should try them if you haven’t. I don’t think I’ve ever seen faster better results that don’t break me out that helps heal and soothing my skin than these two products. I tried them on a whim and already have backups.
Hi Wendy! I do have all 300 of them ranked :) but you're right that over time my skin changes and some products do change in how they work (or not). But by then I'm usually moved on to newer things... lol Here's my ranked list! geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/
I'd say they are very similar - maybe a smidge more coverage from the Revlon. Though I think I like the L'Oreal just a smidge better (slightly more dewy finish). But both of those things would be preference and not performance ratings.
I find it hard to compare anything directly to the MAC Studio Radiance because the MAC formula is so unique in that it's lightweight like a tint but incredibly well wearing in terms of how long it stays looking nice and its general feeling on the skin. I'd say the MAC is lighter coverage but it's hard to make any other direct comparisons. The MAC is definitely unique!

Just landed on your channel! Love your crown! Idea, I small black fabric headband that doesn't really show, and then put the crown over it ;) I have super ultra dry skin uggg it sucks! I haven't been enjoying those sponge applicators, they take 2000+ pats to apply... irritating. Such a small amount of the sponge touches your face at a time. I have a foundation brush, its easier and way faster. Years ago, I did use those triangle sponges, they had a (better!!) texture. I wonder if you can still get them. This foundation doesn't seem to have enough luminosity for me, and it's too heavy of coverage. Today I tried Neutrogena Serum. It didn't seem to go on smooth but it evened out by the time I finished the rest of my makeup. It seemed good.
Those triangle sponges were great!!! I was at Sally Beauty the other day and I saw something that looked like them. I almost bought them! I wonder if they're the same as I remember.
I have a collection of ducks that is probably nearing visibility-hazard-levels on my dash now 😂 and a giant bag of ducks in the back seat for ducking other Jeeps!
Several companies have done that lately and I really don't understand it! Some say that it's probably meant to describe the skin care effects, but that's just so odd when the naming convention is typically to describe what the foundation looks like on the skin.
Oh wow - interesting! I've had requests to try the Mario one but I'm so MEH on celebrity/makeup artist/influencer brands right now lol. I haven't bought it yet.

Added to my buy list! Thanks, Jen! =D
I don’t wear concealer either I don’t have dark circles . Just fine lines
Same here..
what brand of nail wraps are you using?

Thanks from Melbourne Australia Shelley, you always make me smile. Your highlighter game in this video was on point! Please, more kitty cameos!
I really thought the kitten would jump in more videos (because she jumps into EVERYTHING else!) 😹
I own 2 of those LOL. I love it!
I just found this on crazy sale and bought it. Then I thought, "oh no! What does Shelly think?" Whew. 😂
🤣 yep this one is a thumbs up!
You are supposed to do some touch ups during the day.
I feel like the cat is just concerned as to why you’re always talking to yourself 😅😂😂😂
😹😹😹
I 💚💙 how your hair matches your Jeep! Have you gotten ducked yet? My sister-in-law did and she drives a Nissan Rogue. 😄
I have a collection of ducks that is probably nearing visibility-hazard-levels on my dash now 😂 and a giant bag of ducks in the back seat for ducking other Jeeps!
I wonder why they named a matte foundation ILLUMINANCE?
Several companies have done that lately and I really don't understand it! Some say that it's probably meant to describe the skin care effects, but that's just so odd when the naming convention is typically to describe what the foundation looks like on the skin.
💕💖💕
Apparently its a dupe for makeup by Mario's new foundation 🤔.
This is probably better
Oh wow - interesting! I've had requests to try the Mario one but I'm so MEH on celebrity/makeup artist/influencer brands right now lol. I haven't bought it yet.
Cruelty free for years now.. Nice clip
💜💕🌺
That primer isn’t Revlon, you silly girl. 😉
