      I have a 2010 audi a5, and I have the same P0010 code, I've changed the oil and change the camshaft position sensor, but the code still comes back up after resetting it. What else should I look for

      @@ItssTroyy First, understand the code. Open Circuit. Your CPsensor and OCV may be in perfect condition...same with oil. BUT the electricity is not flowing to the item/s. So, you need to find out WHY you are getting no juice. I believe you should be getting 12 v reading at terminal B of your OCV. If not, then check your wiring.

      My husband just replaced the timing chain in his 08 Ford Expedition EL and it’s still sputtering. He hooked the code reader up to it and got a P0010 code, but our friend said that the timing is off a little, thus causing it to not idle correctly. I’m just curious here on this video. What does the oil have to do with timing? Walmart changed the oil in this vehicle last month and when we picked it up, it sounded like it was going to fall apart!!!

    I have 2010 Pontiac G6 2.4 ecotec. Showing P0010. How do I know the difference between a faulty camshaft oil control valve (OCV) and faulty variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid? They both throw the same P0010 code. Can I clean the VVT solenoid? Can I test the VVT solenoid? Thank you

    • @nondainc
      @nondainc  2 года назад +1

      Hello, you should know that your OCV is faulty when you notice a burning smell in your car and if you are experiencing a low acceleration or poor brake performance. A decreased fuel economy is sign of a faulty VVT. With regards to your question if you can clean the VVT, yes-cleaning could be a solution and testing the voltage is suggested.

      Hi Tiberius, kindly check the wiring/connectors if frayed/damage and repair them. Once repaired, clear the code and rescan to see if the issue will still persist. Check the resistance of the bank 1 intake camshaft VVT Control solenoid if the error won't go away as this could be the source of the issue. You may replace this part if the result is out of specification.

    Hello! I own a 2011 Chrysler 200 3.6L throwing a P0010 code. The problem is that the check engine light turns off for awhile but then turns back on again. I recently had my oil changed so I don’t think it would be dirty oil. What should I test first? Should I pull the solenoid?

      @nondainc  3 года назад +2

      Hi Calista, kindly inspect if there are broken/damaged wiring going from the solenoid to the ECM. Check the condition of the camshaft if synced well to the crank, and try cleaning the actuator solenoid. Hope these helps!

      This is similar to my issue. I was told P0010 code meant I need to replace the VVT Solenoid (bank 1.) After replacing, check engine light cleared but came back on next time i started it. I cleared it again & it came back in again. Same code. I also recently had an oil change, but i think the engine light was already on before that. Could this mean it is the camshaft? What do you think? I would really appreciate your insight!

      Hi Brett, once you have put fresh oil in your vehicle's system, kindly clear the code and test drive your car. If the code comes back then there might be a need for an OCV or Solenoid valve replacement.
