@@TomiPVideos I see you well educated
i got to go to a Home free concert a while ago, i was actually invited by Adam Chance. He came to my work and asked if i were going and i couldn't bc no money and this man said "i got you" and gave me 2 tickets for free. So i know how powerful Tim's bass really is
I’m a bass so of course I love it
I have no idea how I didn't find this sooner, but it let me sing an F#1 so I'm not complaining
0:09 that sounded cool
Hello! Are you ever going to continue with this series? These two initial videos were very helpful, thank you!
I don't actually know, but if I have time I'll look into it. Glad you liked it!
10:45 That's so DAMN GOOD!! This guy is really blessed!
We love you Tomi!
Thanks a lot for your video. These are a kind of tips that I've searched for and couldn't find.
As far as I can know, you're the only one making this so sharp, so clear and so useful video.
The intro to dis vid is on point
Thanks for the advices. Cool editing tomi 👍
Great video, great examples! That's the Tomi I know!💛
I'm excited to see your next video about bass singing tips!
Waiting for it :)
Caraaaaa todo o tempo sem o Tomi foi um desperdício...aprendo muito com ele!!!
Amazing tips!! Thank you!!
Thank you for the video! Can't wait for the next video (:
Thank you ! I could sing very low notes that I knew weren't chest notes but I still could here the pitch so I thought it wasn't vocal fry neither ! I couldn't find anything about it on the internet so I really didn't know what I was doing... But now, I know that I was singing chest-fried notes thanks to you ! I will then try to master this technic so we don't hear much fry in it !
Again, thank you Tomi ! :D
Am new to your channel tomi and you've encouraged me. You are doing a nice job you are helping me keep it up ☝
19:47 just so I can replay
very good video I was waiting for this video just when the first came out :))
Thank you very much for this video. I hope we can see the next tip vide soon.
Thanks a lot for this video! I had found the beginnings of some of these techniques on my own (e.g. glissando from chest into fry to make the fry sound better), but it's very nice to know these are actual techniques and not just one-off weird things I'm doing to my voice :) And I'm always a fan of having good names for everything, because it makes it easier to talk and think about things, so having words for the different variants of chest-fry combinations is much appreciated. Please keep doing these videos!
Thanks for the help I always have had a bit of trouble with fry
I still need lots of practice but I'm getting better
Diky za tipy, budeme trénovať 😊
I am not kidding with subharmonic I can only hit an Ab1. Kinda sad. But then again I’m the only tenor in my school that could sing bass😂
3:35 roast em tomi
That Intro😍
Thanks for this video. Chest-fry mix is my main bass technique, and it is so helpful to know it's legit. I appreciate you referencing Paul David Kennamer as a success story for this technique. It's encouraging, especially for us baritones who wish they were basses!
I know it's been a while, but if you made another video in the series, I would be thrilled. Very few people explain the process as well. Thanks!
0:09...Awesome!!!
After this vid I had to sub 💯💯💯🔥
Home free concert is amazing I went twice

Konečně někdo kdo tuhle techniku umí pořádně, já se to snažim naučit ale nějak se nemůžu dostat ke kloudnému zvuku.
In the next video can u pls teach how to do the inhale notes and subharmonics pls
Amennn
Make a video about strohbass, im trying to learn, im wondering which note i could reach, if have a g2
Dam T you got low low low but Tim is insane
Amazing video, this really helped me along.
Also, was wondering if the discord server is still active? If it is, then the invite has expired.
Great video.
I came here to say that I discovered my chest fry yesterday. I am so happy!
But I have a question. Will it get louder and stronger with time? My B1, A1 and G1 is not that strong.
Edit: I am still improving it. It's not easy to sing in chest fry, especially when the song is faster than normal. Hahaha
But ok. I am enjoying the journey.
I just found your channel like a day or two ago, and I've probably accounted for 20+ of the views on your Witcher video, that was earth shaking right there. Quick question, my chest voice only gets to like C2 on a good day, usually C#2. Any tips on how to make it lower over time? (I've only watched a minute of the video so far so I don't know if you cover it)
I don't sing in a choir or anything, I just do it for goofs
I'm so used to doing subharmonics, and I am struggling to do fry. Do you have any tips to prevent that?
Same problem
Got any tip on how to control your subharmonic and pitching it?
@@whitesheep7304 I think it's mostly practice
Granted that you can control your subharmonics' pitch, that's a nice problem to have...
Subharmonics is actually one of the two types of vocal fry registers. There's controlled fry (subharmonic phonation) and uncontorlled fry (basically very poor phonation, like Tomi said because fundamental frequency is diminished too much by the harmonies). So basically less air + less phonation = screetchy door effect or the regular vocal fry :)
👌🏽✨

Hi Tomi!
I am practicing my fry for some time now but I have trouble finding my fried chest mix. I actualy learned singing subharmonics before trying this, and now every time I go from chest to fry I just keep slipping into subharmonics.
I could be wrong about this, but after hearing some examples I feel like chest fry mix might use fry the same way subharmonics do. With the difference that the fry part is fried chest and the chest part being lower than usual subharmonics.
Can you confirm this or am I completely lost?
Love youe videos and tips! :D
Hello Tomi big fan how’s your day going
Me, most definitely a high soprano: *interesting*
Still don't understand fried chest :/
My vocal teacher thinks I use it for my low Cs and Bs but I can't even use chest fry and I certainly don't think I add any fry for those notes because I don't naturally flip to fry after my chest voice. If it helps I do practice my fry register and subharmonics.
Yo Tomi! Where is the 3rd video? 🤣
My friend Ben who is a Bass ll, can hit a C#1 with chest-fry mix.
@Aaron Anderson not all Bass II have those deep low notes. He does however have a very strong and well projected Bb1 and A1. Definitely with more power then a Bass I off mic.
@Aaron Anderson he is a Bass II. And what did I not claim? And I never said *he* didn’t have those lower deep notes, he just has a strong and well projected Bb1 and A1. I said not all, but I never specifically said he.
@Aaron Anderson 🤣, it’s all good.
Can Beat Boxing with your vocal chord helps in getting good placements, resonance, stability, and breathe control?
Cuz of your accent I thought you're my Polish bro, but... okay, I wasn't that far 😂
0:50 hmmMM i wonder whos been watching it for the past 6 days hMMMM
But is chest fry mix the same that subharmonic singing?
so like..my acapella group had some issues and broke up and I was wondering if anyone knew of any ways to find a new one to join?
does anyone know if you can subharmonic a chest-fry note? its kind of a dumb question but im just confused as to what the extent of subharmonics is
I don't know if you've heard of pentatonix but can you please check out Avi (the bassist) from pentatonix? You can react to their version of hallelujah. Trust me, you won't regret
hi tomi, how to distinguish chest-fry mix from just chest. Like there’s a changing place of my range, it’s a D2. From D2 and lower to B1 I feel like my resonance is mostly in chest but little bit of fry. Is that count for chest-fry mix?
Holy... i thought paul david was one of the lowest bass voices and this guy is a baritone? :o
Any tips on clearing throat of excess phlegm?
sucking on a lemon is the best i've heard but otherwise try not to eat before singing and drink water
How does water help?
I figured it out myself so I searched for 2 vocal fries at the same time 😅
I have deep bass voice, what to do with it. Even Deeper
21:52 wtf
Marcello Berry 😂😂😂💯
Hello i just can’t get subharmonics to work on high notes. Ik it can be done. I’m a rock vocalist i wanna mask high notes with subharmonics so they sound low . Could you have any videos on how to get subharmonics and take them higher
Still waiting for the "next time"
"it's G -7 f*" 😂
When I do vocal fry I always feel it in my chest, never in my head. Did I just get lucky or am I doing something wrong?
Yeah, actually, the resonance could be in the chest, in the head, in the middle.
It really varies from person to person. If you have it in your chest, good for you! Mix is gonna be much easier for you :)
I don't really understand the difference between vocal fry and subharmonics. I mean, in theory I kinda know that they're two separate things which use different vocal folds and stuff like that, but because I started using subharmonics before knowing vocal fry, now I'm not able to do it.
Hey bro, basically.the difference is the subharmonic register is caused by 2 notes sung at perfect intervals aka a perfect fifth (C3 chest and G3 fry) which causes the note heard to be a octave lower (in the 1st register) so its a combo, but fry is just the clicking or "pulsing of your chords that is unsupported.
@@josephwilkinson-mackie9744 thanks, mate! But what I meant is that I know theoretically what the difference is, but I'm not able to differentiate practically between the two because every time I try vocal fry I slip into subharmonics. But yesterday I practiced a bit and maybe I'm starting to get it. Maybe.
Can everyone learn to sing lower bass
the link is not opening for me :c

Subharmonics - B1
Growl - F#1
Inhale - D#1

@@badamb401 Come on, you got right the first chord and the inhale 😁
@@TomiPVideos When I listened it again I heard the Eb3 and B1 but I don"t know if I have a bad headphones or bad ears but I really can"t hear any growl there xd

It's an Eb1, the chord makes it sound like a B.

C1
I'm not a bass but... Can I sing like you for example???
I'm a tenor singer
If you have the range...yes
I can’t vocal fry.... that’s why I’m here
What’s the difference between chest fry and subharmonics?
In vocal fry, the chords are close but relaxed and they vibrate with an aperiodic cycle: they touch each other twice and then they take a small break. In the normal vocal fry, this aperiodic cycle is not accurate, and this creates the strange popping sound full of overtones. Chest-fry is just your vocal fry but with chest (instead of head) resonance, so it resonates in the mask and you can feel the vibration in your chest. This makes the fundamental louder than in normal fry. Conversely, in subharmonic singing the aperiodic cycle is accurate, and this creates two notes at the same time: a fundamental and a subharmonic (one octave lower). This notes are compatible, and so their harmonic series add together, creating a very clear fundamental note. When you train your subharmonic singing, is easier if you start from your modal voice and you slip into your vocal fry, because if you slip into your pulse register maintaining the same vocal folds adduction that you had in chest voice, you will create the subharmonic. However, I don't really like the term "subharmonic singing", because kargyraa generates a subharmonic too. So, I prefer calling this technique "strohbass". Finally, the difference between chest-fry and strohbass is the accuracy of the aperiodic cycle, but they are both created with the M0 mechanism.
@@gianlucaranucci_ Speaking of throat singing, I feel like fried chest is right in between vocal fry and Khoomei. That's at leats how I found my Khoomei register. What exactly is going on there? Is Khoomei fried chest with more pressure on the folds?
@@mr.infinity6628 Absolutely not. Are you talking about khoomei style or kargyraa?
@@gianlucaranucci_ only Khoomei, yes. For what it helps, its the Tuvan style I'm doing.
@@gianlucaranucci_ I totally could be doing the wrong fried chest, but when I normally vocal fry I add a little pressure to get into what I believe isy fried chest to than really push to get into Khoomei. Latter I am pretty confident of doing correctly.

In vocal fry the main sound is made by false vocal folds vibration , 99% of ppl ignore that .
Like NOT. 🤦♂️

My tenor is sound like girly that why I hate it and stick to the bass voice. Especially when I hit G and F in bass I can't do it sometime when I sing a song of pop music and etc rather than in my choir I hit it

The pops are super annoying. Almost makes one wanna stop the video seriously :)
Your voice is so low it's getting me off
