Making a Leather Money Clip Wallet
The money clip wallet is a classic design adored by many - today we're making our own money clip wallet with Weaver Leather's new Lexi top grain leather in a beautiful red color! Our DIY Money Clip Wallet also features a nice pebbled tan leather with a nice spring loaded money clip along the middle to hold cash.
This leather money clip wallet is made with saddle stitched seams and finished with hand burnished edges - it's a nice little design!
Stunning. Simple, clean, beautiful.
Another neat, simple project to try!
Thanks guys!
I would of put the red on the inside personally but good work, I like it.
The skiving skill on the side are flawless
I really like the texture of the leather. Very nice build, as always! Cheers!
I would love the pattern for this one. Will you be offering it on your site? If so when? Thank you I enjoy your work and video style.
Between your beautiful videos and designs combined with Chuck Dorsett's great series I've become a customer of Weaver. Thanks!
I got some of that pattern material but haven;t used it yet. This really helps!
What a cool color combination! Never seen a wallet like this before 😮
Thank you for educating us on your profession with words in making something great.
Pattern not on website. However, Thank you for all the freebies. Liked . Subscribed.
Very good...
No music best video
This is great and the link to weaver amazing but where do we purchase the clip from????
beautiful
This looks like a great design to try. And I have the same amount of money to boot!
Very nice....your 2 tone works are always beautiful. ..
Pleasantly look at your work)), thank's
you do such good work and I learn every time I watch. Will this pattern be available to purchase? (I looked on your site but didn't see it but my wife says I can't find anything by myself so that's not surprising)
Feeling satisfied watching this and great leather work with so much of perfection ⚡⚡🔥
oh wow, that's a clean wallet. i'm gonna have to look at putting one (or a few) together. very nice!
What a beautiful project! Love your videos and they way they are put together. Thank you for the content!
Being sorta presumptuous, but I keep noticing that you have trouble removing the stitching irons out. I found on RUclips a video where they took a dremel tool with a buffing wheel loaded with polishing compound and buffed the teeth on the irons shiny...tried it myself and found a great improvement! Just a thought. Nicely done project!!! Really appreciate and enjoy your content.
Ron Fleecs thank you. I have a very hard time getting them out. I will give this a try.
Would you please share the vidéo you're talking about ?
@@sanpedro5018 I'll try to find it and share. Busy this morning, but I will look.
Hello, I cannot find the pattern on the website? Did you take it down?
I can't find the pattern :( Nice wallet !
Looking for this pattern in your shop but not seeing it. Would like to make one for myself.
Tried to purchase the patter for this project but could not find it in the website. Any help?
Excellent !
I would like to purchase this pattern but it's not listed in your pattern website. Do you plan to offer this pattern anytime soon?
Pattern available for purchase?
Would have liked to have seen the part where you cut out the thumb slot. Inside curves are often the most difficult cuts to make cleanly. I assume you used the Xacto knife on those cuts as well?
yep, just cut them very carefully with a fresh xacto blade :) we've got other videos where we show cutting thumb slots if you want to go through our back catalogue!
Does anybody know where to buy the actual money clip "clip". I really. like the clip open-close design, but I can't find it anywhere
I can't see pattern for this wallet in your website
What is that money clip thing called and where can I get one?
Absolutely love your videos and this wallet in particular! Will you be offering the pattern for sale on your site?
Отличная работа👍
Очень красивая работа! МОЛОДЕЦ!
What is the red piece you hammer into and what is it called i am having no luck searching for" the thing you hammer into when stitching Leather." Thanks and awesome work as always
Where did you get the cool money clip? Can’t find it at Weaver Leather.
You can find them on ebay pretty cheap
Отличный зажим получился 👍
Вот если бы ещё и выкройку в описании добавил бы...
Can i get this one
Olá. Meu nome é Bruno, sou brasileiro, adoro os seus videos. Gostaria de saber como faço para achar essa parte de metal? Estou estudando como fazer essas carteiras. Em breve já começo. Parabéns pelo seu trabalho.
Nice work. Could you tell us where to buy the clip from?
Ok, you like my comment, but could you answer my question please?
Camilo Aquino - they are available on many different sites, but I believe I’ve bought them from Rocky Mountain Leather Supply. In a few different colors.
Also to help:
I normally do a google search for a product then hit the “images” tab to search with my eyes.
A few other good sources for hardware etc is “the buckleguy” and AliExpress if all else fails. Hope this helps?
not good, beautiful.
Where do you buy your leather supply from? I’m looking for Chicago skrews with the length of 10mm. It’s so hard to find! 😳
We use Weaver Leather for most things!
This is not a technical question, but how many blades do you go thru?
What are you using to trace the pattern onto the leather?
Hi. You did not show where to get the clip
No coat edging the side?
It seems like you're skiving edges in the last few videos, which you haven't done before. Why the change? How difficult did you find it to use that Japanese knife and the French skiver?
we wanted to keep it beginner-friendly in the beginning, now that it's been a year and a half making videos we're adding a few more advanced techniques :) that being said the last two videos were also projects that absolutely require skiving edges. I don't think we've done any projects before that which did the same, you can usually plan your thicknesses carefully and get away without it.
I prefer skiving with a knife because that's how I've always done it, but the french skiver is very nice for doing spines and for folks that don't have experience with a knife! Just gotta keep it sharp
@@Corter thanks!
Nice project but I wouldn't have chosen that color combo ...
that's the beauty of leather work -- you can choose any color you'd like!

Do you have any tips on how to shape colored leather? Thanks
We might! What do you mean by shape?
Corter Leather well i have a piece of leather that is quite soft and flexible and I would like to harden it by soaking it in hot water. But I‘m a little anxious that this might destroy the color of the leather...
Hmm, that's a bit more complicated - it would depend on the type of leather, how it was tanned, etc. If it's drum dyed it probably won't ruin the color, but if it's not the right tannage soaking it wouldn't firm it up
Corter Leather alright hahaha I guess I‘ll just have to try out because I found this leather in a bag on the street so I have no clue how it was treated.
Corter Leather also how would you clean or sterelize soft colored leather?
Make it look so easy by skipping the edge sanding and burnishing process. That's where the real time is spent.
Uau. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

not sure if you care about your subscribers anymore i was your subscriber but you dont even answer any questions must be too many or too many subscribers i guess
