No one believes victims/survivors anymore because of the law. Victims struggle to come forward because of age and/or being overwhelmed and distraught by what they’ve been through and/or they don’t think anyone will believe them.Hopefully that’s changing a bit now but it’s impossible to stop. It didnt make her stand up back on her feet in fact it made her rebel more and make this persona. Its not a normal education system if the staff fondles thighs while students are sleeping, sexually assualt them, rape them, make sure they dont speak with their parents, isolation, bad diets, there was a review on it and one of the people who commented said a girl was on solitary confinement there and because of the bad diet there the student turned yellow and something else. This is hard to listen to . When I was teen I was really skinny. My older brother was bigger ( 6’4”, 300lbs ), and took out all his penned aggression from football and school out on me, literally beat me constantly. He was the football player my parents took up for and bragged about, so they did nothing to stop him. I stayed away from home on my bike and then car until early morning and then wouldn’t go to to school because I was tired from not sleeping. My dad was a judge, and had U.S. Marshals come in my room in the middle of the night, put me in a caged prisoner transport car and take me to an out of state “ re-hab “ with chronic drug abusers, alcoholic kids, etc. , and the Dr. diagnosed me with paranoia and depression ( I was getting the shit beat of me at home ), of course I’d be a nervous wreck. The Dr. there would diagnose whatever the person’s insurance would pay for, and say you’re ready to go home when the insurance ran out. So going back to the same situation, it was a repeat cycle of this FIVE times. I finally got my GED and joined the military at 17 just to get the hell out, and prove to myself I wasn’t crazy, but the middle of the night snatching me up, has severely affected me in the military with insomnia and fear of going to sleep when it was crucial that get rest to continue our missions. My parents fuckd me up bad mentally doing that shit, and it was almost like they thought it was the thing to do to label me as mentally ill because didn’t go to school, never addressing I was getting beat up, so I stayed away from home until morning and then slept through the school hours from exhaustion. The hardest thing is one time when I was a teen, my dad went to a car dealer friend’s business, and the guy asked my dad “ this isn’t the football player, this is your trouble son ?” . How in the fck would you feel as a kid knowing that your parents had said that about you to their friends? It’s like they are promoting you to become a trouble kid, or convincing you to think you’re crazy. I can identify with this %100, and yea the Army became a closer family to me than my own. It fcking suks. . .

    My name is Jenna Young. I was at Provo Canyon School with Paris. I disagree on her statement. The staff was not abusive. If you didn't follow structure you had disabling. And she didn't follow the rules a lot. I was there for a year. I was the only place that change my life around. With structure, therapy, rewards, and if you misbehaved they put you on a chair and you looked at the wall and thought about what you did. I don't feel Paris has the right to judge. She wasn't there for long. God bless.

    About a week after my arrival I had a staff member at that school pull an entire unit of kids into a back room and told them to jump me because of an alleged stolen Barnes & Noble gift card which was later found in his desk. This happened immediately after the same staff member threatened to break my guitar over my head, but instead just broke it in front of me, I was also charged with restitution for the damage to the building he caused. This was in '09 at Provo Canyon School.

    I 100 percent believe her. My ex who is either a Narcissist or Psychopath attended boarding school from i think 7 and i think he graduated from there. I never asked. I was too afraid to ask because it was starting to become evident that if he indeed had attended from age 7, he was severely emotionally neglected and or abused, which would explain his mental illness. He's a scary, potentially dangerous Chamelion. Not saying she is that...not at all. But when one is traumatised in childhood, it can set them up for sabotaging behaviors or worse. This is a fact. You can trace many mental health diagnoses from childhood, sadly.

    The thing is that whenever you’re at any school like, public private or boarding any abuse can happen.
    I was turned to an emotional wreck every school day all because I was screamed at, lied about and emotionally bullied by school teachers; the sickest parts about it was
    1. I was around the age of 5-7 and it happened at the infant/junior school until I moved.
    2. Because it was Christian their slogo was “Every child matters to God.”
    They really had a twisted way of showing it to me.
    One thing that kept me staying was my friends but no one should stay in a hell like that just for friends.

    My parents sent me to boarding school in a remote area because they didn't want me to be a day girl (Weird, because my three siblings attended secondary school from home). From the moment I stepped foot in that place, it was hell. Have you ever seen that movie The Magdalene Sisters? I went through some similar sh*t. Everyone was abusive, the senior students treated us as slaves, and the teachers didn't care much. The food they gave us couldn't feed an unborn foetus (Amazingly, the seniors were allowed decent portions despite paying the same amount in tuition). They physically punished us for the flimsiest of reasons, and I know for a fact some girls were sexually abused (One girl mentioned how a senior lured her into a private room and forced her to count her pubic hairs). I swear to God, that school turned me into a person I no longer recognised; I began to steal money from people to survive that place, and my parents knew but did nothing - my mother even said "I don't care if boarding school kills you, you'll remain there even if you die there." Years later, and all these stories are emerging, yet people have the nerve to tell me "It happened, you're not the only one... Deal with it." F*ck these institutions, I'm with Paris. They thought they were making us tough, but they damaged us for life. F*ck them.

    It’s sad, sickening, maddening and so much more that compassion and empathy can be hard to find now a days especially for victims/survivors because no one believes until the laws say so. But the law is often not right. And there are more victims who don’t report than those who report. Victims struggle to come forward because of age and/or being overwhelmed and distraught and/or they don’t think anyone will believe them and/or they don’t want to relive their trauma. Hopefully that’s all changing a bit now the more a famous victim/survivor brings it to the public but it’s impossible to stop. It’s like expecting a world of peace. No matter what the public believe, a good support system for victims/survivors is crucial. It’s time people learn to listen well way before they even think about judging.

We are trained to deescalate situations and no one is ever touched unless they are harming themselves or others. I have a great rapport with my students and they know I genuinely care about them and their welfare! There will always be bad apples, that is the exception, not the rule. You should hear and see what we deal with everyday, and after being called every foul name in the book, death threats, spitting, scratching, we still do not put hands on. She's very intelligent and was obviously putting on a show and being a character..people are sadly very quick to assume that what you see is what you get. They rarely look deeper. And it's funny that back in the day Paris was considered slutty and everyone talked so much shit about her, but now days she would be considered on the classier side amongst popular females. I also respect when celebrities stay pretty low key like her, Nicole Richie, and Hillary Duff. Love them all.

    How deranged must the parents be to put their kids into a school like this? I thought their mother was a caring and doting stay-at-home mother and wife but apparently she was just a lazy good-for-nothing lie about... how do you miss a thing like that? Your child talks to you every 3 months for 2 minutes and you think that is normal? Unless, there is smth Paris is not telling, which would be that she was a very badly behaved rebellious teenager breaking all the rules for a long time and they put her in this military-style reform school to straighten her act and not overdose on drugs.

    • @leenut91
      @leenut91 4 года назад +1

      I kind of doubt she was that bad. We didn’t hear anything about her being wild until after she was 18 and doing her own thing. I’ve seen it before. There are plenty of parents who will send their kids away for the smallest thing if it disrupts their vision of perfection. Even if it’s just a normal teenage rebellion. Mormon families are a great example, I’ve known them to tie up their daughters and drag them to a facility in the middle of the night for what they think they’re doing (sex, pot, etc.). Regardless what she did or didn’t do, it doesn’t warrant the abuse she suffered. That kind of treatment doesn’t help anything and if a kid actually is troubled, that won’t get to the heart of their issue. It’s obvious, especially in her case, that it causes more problems than it solves.
