- In this video I give the rear valance of my 2007 Saturn Sky a fresh coat of paint. It makes it look much better and newer.

Came out nice.
Paint booth is to GM.. standarts..love it
norms fiberglass makes a nice aftermarket.. i have one on my car..
I subscribed to you a while back because I had a pontiac solstice and I liked seeing the mods you were doing. And hoped to do them on mine. I sadly wrecked mine and totaled it. But I will remain subscribed because you’re videos are very interesting and good. Keep up the good work
Tanner Crawford. Dude. That sucks. I hate hearing when a Sky or Solstice gets totaled. It keeps getting us closer and closer to extinction. But I do appreciate you staying as a subscriber and hope that you'll be able to own another Solstice some day.
Nice looking though I recommend just using a strong Plastic Restorer that have UV protectant to bring it back to new while also protecting the piece from further fading. I had no need or desire to paint this piece.
Looks good, I'm installing the rk sports version of it, it's fiber glass
Nice. RK Sports has some good quality products. I also like their wing.
Yeah but it's expensive haha
I know. All this stuff is freaking expensive :)
The RK wing really makes this car, as silly as that may sound. Much nicer looking than the smaller one that was a factory option. Money well spent, I'd say.
need to paint my gxp valance back to black, black trim resto ect... works but weeks later back to ashy dual black
Yeah. Back to Black doesn't last long. It looks good at first, but you have to keep putting it on.
Hi Mike,
Sorry to bother you again with dull questions, I seem to recall either you
or a friend of yours under the car disconnecting the old exhaust system......did you
install the dual one yourself and I noticed on this and other videos you use
jack stands. I was thinking of maybe getting four strong ones and having a go at
the exhaust myself. where do you usually place the stands after you have the car
jacked up as high as you need it, any solid spot you can find?
Thanks,
Lance
Mike where did you get the piece of looks like carpet ,That you lay down on ? instead of a creeper ??? What is it called ?
It' looks 👍 good.😅
Hi Mike. This question is a bit unrelated to your restoration of the valance (turned out nice), I just bought a Magna Flow dual exhaust for my Base Sky and I was wondering, is yours a Magna Flow and if it's from a Redline, is it 3 inch or 2.5 piping? Did you have any computer problems or error codes after the install. I'm going to have mine installed in a week or two when it warms up a bit. Mine has 2.5 inch piping.
Hi Lance. I swapped my base single exhaust for a Redline dual exhaust. It is the 2.5 inch and was a simple bolt on. There were no error codes that came up, however, I did get a tune because I changed the exhaust the same time I did the Stage 2 kit (which included larger fuel injectors and a high flow cat). I don't think you'll have any issues with just swapping out the exhaust. However, if you have a base model, keep with the 2.5 inches, otherwise you won't have enough back pressure which may cause performance issues.
Thank you very much Mike. Mine is the 2.5 inch one. I really appreciate these videos you do. You do a great job on them. Do you find that the larger injectors improve the acceleration....use more gas?
@@LanceIs55 Yes, the larger injectors, high flow cat, and tune does make a difference. I basically picked up 30 HP and 13 ft/lb of torque. Here's the dyno results of my before tune and after tune. Stock
Before
127.3 WHP @ 4950 RPM - 144.5 torque @ 2650 RPM
134.8 WHP @ 4950 RPM - 149.1 torque @ 4150 RPM
133.8 WHP @ 5050 RPM - 145.9 torque @ 4700 RPM
After Stage 2 Tune
154.7 WHP @ 5300 RPM - 157.4 torque @ 5000 RPM
158.5 WHP @ 5300 RPM - 161.7 torque @ 4950 RPM
161.1 WHP @ 5400 RPM - 162.5 torque @ 5000 RPM
Thanks for the numbers Mike. I will look into that for my next project. I found a new Redline Valance here in Canada. Around $300 U.S. I was thinking of getting one from Norms but in the end I decided to buy the genuine GM part and maintain the factory look.....and it was less expensive than Norms without having to paint it. Cheers!!
@@MikesHouseOfModswhich tune do you have? Thanks
Hey quick question, where did you buy the rear redline bumper piece to install the diesel exhaust. I have a base 2.4l auto transmission but I’m wanting to switch the rear bumper to go with the fuel exhaust
Is your reverse light tinted?
No. That's the way that it was when I bought it. I'm not sure if it's because it's a 2007 base model or not. I like it that way, though.
Mike Martin My 2008 saturn sky redlines reverse light is as white as snow. After seeing yours I think I should tint it to have it match the bumper a litter better
Saberease Era Wtf why do u blab so much and you keep dragging and saying pointless shit. Just get to the point and make your videos short and to the point please. I have a redline sky and watching how I can do stuff to it yet you really need to stop blabing pointless stuff. Your videos should be 5 to 7 minutes max and speak clearly. Cuz you are boring me and pretty much depressing me with your tone. Now this is my feedback and maybe this is why you get low views. Just get to the point and show us.
Rachy Goody that escalated quickly. 🤣
Have you ever had a problem with low coolant levels?
No I haven't (crossing fingers).
I have 2007 Sky with 59k miles and I have had a low coolant notice but no leaks that I can find and no overheating but it is running a little warmer. I was wondering if you had encountered this before.
Danny Presley its the sensor in your reservoir.. its corroded and needs to be replaced..
it happened to me
Thanks!
