What terrifies me most of crocodiles is their patience. In Australia tourists are told not go near some waters at the same time & place each day. If you keep a routine a crocodile will see this and take it's time to be in position to strike at the right moment.

@titus they are not “considerably” larger, however they are larger. They are absolutely not more “aggressive” than Nile crocs though. A lot more recorded attacks per year on humans from Nile crocs than Salties. Yes, you can say villages from Africa rely on the water much more, but that still doesn’t make my statement any less true.

I don’t think Thunder Dragons is out on DVD in America these past many years. That goes double for a dozen in a half of the other National Geographic Documentaries on Modern & Prehistoric Animals I have in mind that also have yet to be released on DVD in America after all these years as well.

This is great to watch but the Nile croc is fairly predictable in the sense that it's known what rivers they're in so you can avoid them for the most part, assuming you have access to clean water elsewhere. I'm not taking away from the fact that they are a very deadly predator and given the chance, you kill and eat anything it can. But I find the saltwater croc much more menacing. I mean, you can know what rivers they're in to avoid them but they go into the ocean and up on beaches and in areas that you may not know they inhabit. They just seem far more cunning than the Nile.
