I have always been terrified of snakes, small and large and have had many close encounters while living in Guyana. However, I decided to watch this documentary to learn about how researchers & scientists go about looking for these reptiles. I feel scared for them because the waters in Guyana have many dangerous species below and on land. For example, the electric eel, these kill many divers and can live in fairly shallow waters. There are also the piranhas, besides the caimans, black caimans, monster snakes, poisonous vipers, there are many trees and flowers that secrete toxins. Knowledge is power and once again, thank you for this educational documentary. This is what should be shared in schools. It is great that the indigenous peoples know how to be safe. I would like to do something to help protect them and wish that there were more funding for these people who are brave and relentless on their projects. 🥰
I only learned a few years ago just how large Guyana really is. It seems only a very small part (Georgetown, Berbice, etc.) is developed. Most looks like jungle "savanna."
@@antoniotula262 You are right, mostly marsh lands, jungles etc. England can easily fit into Guyana. It costs money to develop areas that can benefit the peoples living in those regions so I am happy to learn that some exposure is given to the land, animals and people. With Eco-tourism, hopefully it can further develop more areas.
I been to the jungle in Peru, once it hits sun down you cannot see your hand infront of your face. It's scary dark, I had to sleep with a candle lit at night. I can't imagine living in the jungle in that type of darkness and having a predator like that around you.
Finding a giant anaconda in Guyana is an exhilarating adventure that requires skill, expertise, and respect for the natural world. It offers valuable opportunities for scientific research, conservation efforts, and public engagement, contributing to our understanding and appreciation of these magnificent reptiles and their role in the ecosystem.
Everybody says that Anacondas are the biggest snake on earth, but the official world record for both heaviest and longest is held by Pythons. No idea why this is so!
A 20 foot anaconda weighs nearly double a 20 foot reticulated python , there have been 26 foot anacondas found in Brazil, Guayana & Surinam , there have been 30 foot Reticulated pythons but the bulk of the anaconda blows away the python ….
@@samuraininjarockstar9355 maybe, maybe, maybe...... but officially, Python blows away Anaconda in both length and weight. Anaconda wins only in girth.

Please come to Sungai Lokan, Kinabatangan District, Sabah, Malaysia where The Black roams freely and enjoys its meal with human flesh; and enjoy your adventures there, too.
I have seen anacondas in its habitat, the thickest i have seen was a think as a 20 litre bucket which we threw next to her. We didn't bother her further, not that adventurous, then again I was very much younger and didn't have the knowledge that I have now, and was more fearful than cautious from all the stories I heard growing up.
My grandfather reported to his children one hundred years ago that he encountered an anaconda on one of his jungle trips as a prospecter for gold and diamonds that was the size of a large tree trunk big enough for someone to sit on. One of his men did so by mistake.

I'm actually petrified of snakes, but still watching this documentary. Utterly terrifying 🫤
Would you sit next to a sedated anaconda for 5 minutes for 5 million dollars?
Me too lol 😅😂

So much respect! Could not pay me enough to go into a jungle, much less search for an anaconda.
The video is a little staged
Lol
I would love to do that, actually. For free.

surprisingly these anacondas are friendly most of us are afraid even the tiny one, but this team they're brave thanks to factual.
Docile, not friendly. They were not hungry so weren't bothered.
Anacondas and friendly should never be used in the same sentence
The 'team' and the technology they used to fly the drone were like something out of 80's Knight Rider.

Pretty sure that’s because the largest python was in captivity just from what I have read

Both Pythons and Anacondas have been bred and taken care of in captivity.
