    iFlight Mach R5 is a racing FPV that comes highly recommended. It's what I wold have ordered but stock ran out and the Nazgul Evoque F5 came out so I went with that instead. On the flip side, there's also the Five33 Tiny Trainer, which is a tiny racing kwad that was designed to perform like a full size kwad. It was designed by Evan Turner to let him train for races no matter where he was. Unfortunately, it's also sold out.

    One thing I wish people did in cinewhoop reviews: record cinematic footage with color grading. In every single review in the testing part they just fly around doing freestyle like it was a freestyle drone. These drones are meant for cinematic shots so people watching the review and wanting to buy a cinewhoop are probably not gonna use it for freestyle, but cienmatic shots.

    As a Fpv pilot i say stay away from RTF or Ready to fly. Beginners its a hit or miss that you will get a fully built quad that works perfectly. I speak from experience, when i was starting and got a bad RTF i didnt know how to fix it let alone diagnose what went wrong. Please guys take the time and build your own but go small for starters. They will be easier to build and set up and its a good learning experience.

    I never bought one but I have a DJI mini 2 which super easy to fly that is why now I want to buy an FPV drone with goggles...
    I like the cinewhoops very much!
    They are beautiful as well as durable...
    I don't know much about different transmitters too as I never bought that thing in which you have to buy a seperate controller...
    I always bought an RTF kit but now I am trying to understand how they work...

    I would say that:
    1st simulator,
    2nd 5 inch freestyler
    Simulator is for figuring out your rates. (Low rates vs high rates... how much expo you like and etc)
    I have five years of experience.
    Mike, if you look what ammount of money you spend on your gear, then you see, that drone itself costs about 10-25% of all investment. Most is goggles, remote, charger, batteries...

  • @nullx8
    @nullx8 3 года назад

    well the first step is sure not a Bumblebee !!
    First, get the Velocidrone simulator ! and fly for a few hours with whatever controller you have (box, ps or computer gamepad, doesn't;t matter)
    if after a few hours this is still something you want to do, buy yourself a Proper flight controller (depending on your preference digital or analog) and keep flying with it in the Simulator.
    then buy a Tinywhoop and fly indoors, as this will teach you the hard way that there is a massive difference still.
    tinywhoops are cheap as dirt, lots of fun to fly. but pointless outdoors, but the key here is the crashing.
    and THEN (4 - 6 months in) skip the Bumblebee and get the ProTek or a Flight DC 2/3 depending on what style you are planning to fly on.
    get LOTS of spare props and guards, and about 5-8 batteries.
    that way you will save A LOT of money, props, frames, guards, and batteries if that is not something for you.
    and if it is something you want to do the steps extend each other so you not need to re-purchase things.
    For an example, if you get the Flight DC2 HD .. you can use the DJI Air Uit later in your own build .. but by buying the ready-to-fly drone first you save yourself the hassle.

I've done nearly a nundred hours in Liftoff and I desperately want to buy a real drone but I have no idea how to begin. This video is nice but doesn't explain buying from literally zero equipment. I buy the drone and the goggles, then what? What controller do I use? How do I set it all up? What spare parts do I need? Batteries? I just get so overwhelmed and in the end just keep playing Liftoff... How can I break the cycle and actually fly for real?

    I'm just getting into fpv and my brain is more fried from doing research on this hobby the last 3 months than all the weed I have ever smoked in the past 30 years! There is so much to learn and all the products out there make it very hard to decide on what works best for what you wanna do I definitely don't want to bow down to the faa so sub 250 is the route I wanna take. I do want to start out on HD however it's super expensive so analog will do "for now"😏 I want to do freestyle and race type of flying so that is the problem I'm having trying to find a sub 250 is hard! I have a brand new in the box never ever been flown DJI phantom 3 and I'm trying to get rid of for what I want to do I do wish I would've flown it but oh well lol I would had alot more experience doing so but I have a mini quad that I'm learning on but you are so right about building your own👍 thats the only way to really learn about what's going on inside and it will help alot to know what components do what you absolutely nailed it man✌ great vid!

      @@jondoe6618 Ahh well good to know I picked a decent one to start out with at least, cheers bro.
      I mean I'm not a total noob person. I used to mess around flying 5-inch fpv drones years ago with some mates fairly regularly, and started to get half ok at it by the end. But haven't flown at all since then, cept on a sim... i always mean to get one and get back at it but then..... life, you know? 😏
      These rtf fpv packs helped me take the dive though. They didn't have anything like that back then and mostly everyone flew 5-inch analogue drones that they made and set it all up themselves.
      (My mates did most of that, I just used their gear and flew haha)
      Didn't even have all these cool mini HD Action cams either..... let alone quality HD digital FPV systems that actually work well. (Way too much lag for fpv still back then)
      Amazing to see how far it's come in a few short years.
      Amazing.... but also, frightening too. 😬😬😬
      (Believe me, I have my reasons)
      To be honest I haven't flew these little fpv quads in ages but the last year or two I've (regrettably) had to become rather well acquainted with some various drones/UAV's that are on awhole other level to these!
      (Though in a way, not all that different)
      And not for fun!
      Including being on the wrong end of the camera, and witnessing first-hand just how devastating and terrible a thing they can be, especially in the wrong hands! 😬😬😬😔
      (And how very very effective! All too effective! )
      And I'm talking relatively small and inexpensive, easily available units that are exported globally (and indiscriminately) by places like China and Turkey.... that even your well-to-do Uncle Joe down the street could probably afford to get his hands on.
      And it's only going to get more and more so.
      Anyway sorry bro, I'm ranting haha. Or projecting, or both LOL.
      But suffice to say much as love flying these fpv's (and even dji type drones to a degree) and appreciate the advancements..... I can't help but be abit wary around it or to recognise the very dark side of this new and game-changing technology also! 😬😔
      Ps: I quick checked out that nazgul5 6s and it does seem a pretty sweet rtf.
      I am looking for a nice 5-inch atm as theyre still the meat and potatoes of fpv flying IMHO. Just wasn't sure what'd be suitable
      Think I just have to work out if I could fly that with the equipment I have from the nov-2 (or with buying minimal extras) and I'll place an order for it too!
      Cheers

    With computers it's generally accepted for most people to buy their first desktop. However some people want to get into pc building. For those people it's suggested to get a prebuilt, that has plenty of modularity to replace parts with newer ones over time. Are there prebuilt fpv drones like this? I'd like to get into fpv drones, but I also don't want to buy a Dell equivalent if you get what I mean. I don't want to buy something with proprietary parts like DJI (as I'm told) but a prebuilt that's has modular parts that I can upgrade over time. Thoughts?

I can swap all 4 arms/motors/ducts in 15 minutes, then turn off air mode and lower rates. Done. Yeah... no. You don't have to go above $100 on your very first fpv drone. There are beginner kits that come with everything except radio for $79 to $99. Don't buy anything more than that to start, cuz you are going to wreck your first one for sure. And if you wreck a $280 drone your first time out, you will not want to try again. Good video, but there are way more inexpensive options for beginners. After all... that is who the video was aimed towards? Right?

      @Seiishu So if I understood correctly a good way would be to start of with just a good remote in the first place. Than practice and see if I can get the hang. If I am not too bad I would purchase the goggles still at the sim. And then take the final step.

    • @michaelc5027
      @michaelc5027 3 года назад

      @@pixelundspaetzle If you enjoy it in the sim, and you are sure that it's for you, then you can get the googles whenever you're ready. Like others here have said, they won't help you with the sim, but you will need them to fly actual FPV. If you don't find yourself interested at sim level, then you can always sell your remote.
      Also, I would definitely recommend a smaller, more decile drone as your first, as it will help you learn real life FPV flying skills, will be much easier to fly, and will be harder to break. I went the DJI route and used the iFlight ALPHA A85 tinywhoop, and even though I also had a 5" drone at the time, I found that it was easier to learn the fundamentals on the small drone, as it didn't feel as daunting and high strung as the bigger one.
      Just be patient, practice, and most of all have fun.

    Quality content Mike, and I completely agree with your opinion on buying your first drone. It makes it easier to learn from, figure out how it's built, learn to repair it, and to experience what a properly tuned drone should actually fly like. I got into FPV just this past summer, and just recently built my first Apex with some quality T-Motor components, basing the build on all the experience that I had acquired since I started flying earlier in the year.
    BTW, loving that hype, new intro! 😁👍

      As for your build - sounds great! I've had a very similar build myself - Apex with Tmotor F4 Stack. Great choice! Happy flying 🙌🏼

      @pdub422 Год назад

      I would have to disagree, buying a pre-built would most certainly make it harder to know how it's built, and how to repair etc, if you build it yourself you will have a much better understanding, and there are so many kits and videos available to help these days you don't have to start from scratch, I think a kit with all components already matched up for you and we'll documented instructions/videos are the best starting point

    I want to start flying FPV after I've been flying the DJI Phantoms for a couple of years.
    I find i t hard to know how to buy all the parts needed, such as controllers, goggles, batteries, protocols etc. Really don't understand what all the terms mean and what I need... :/ Thinking of getting the Chimera 4 since main usage will be cinematic filming and the GPS function feels like a good-thing-to-have option.

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  3 года назад

      The Chimera 4 is a good choice but i cannot carry a full-sized GoPro! Keep that in mind, it's meant to fly a naked GoPro (one that you strip down yourself.)
      So it might not be the ideal 1st FPV quad. Check out the iFlight ProTek35, it's a cinewhoop but it's also quite fast and it can carry a full gopro, i'd say that's perfect for cinematic flying!

      @@DroneSupremacy I have a vague idea, trust me.. I'm also into 3D helicopters, so I know very well what it means to crash very often and have to repair yourself.. Fixing a crashed 6CH 3D helicopter is not a simple task, but it's so very fun!
      I get the same amount of fun out of flying my 3D helicopters as I do when I have to build and fix them..
      FPV drones are probably also cool to work on, but balancing everything and setting up and configuring everything on a 3D heli is like heaven for me!
      Although my Mavic Mini has really overtaken my 3D helicopters hobby I still do maintenance on all of them and I do fly them to keep their LiPos healthy..

    Hey so I’m new to this. Since these drones are digital I would need the dji headset right. But what controller?

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  3 года назад

      Yep that's correct. You can purchase the DJI FPV Remote or get a 3rd party one, however for that you'll need to install a "receiver" on the drone itself. It's easier to go for the DJI FPV Remote, however the 3rd party controllers are smaller, in many situations more powerful, cheaper and offer more. It's just a personal preference.
