Just do your aftercare, and leave it alone between cleanings. Don't over clean; 2 or 3 times daily is enough, and don't play with it. Don't let anyone else touch it with their dirty mitts either. (Jan Griffiths).

How long has yours been red? I’m about 3 months in with my belly piercing and it’s still pretty red. It does not hurt I can move it just fine and yeah has some fluids and crusties here and there. Am I ok to change it yet? And do you know when the red will go away?

I don't plan on changing my ring for a long time. my piercer put a bar in that can have different balls screwed in on both ends so if I get tired of the opal I have on now he can just screw on different balls :)

Knock on wood but I got a belly button and inverted belly button piercing at the same time a week ago, didn't feel the actual piercing, hasn't hurt yet, no blood yet, no puss, no redness .... Wish me luck that it continues that way cuz, I was prepared for the worst and so far it's been fine o.o
same!! i got mine a week ago, didn’t hurt at all and i’ve been super careful around it, cleaning 2-4x a day, not touching it and it seems to be healing nicely 🤞🏻

My piercer told me I could change in a month and when I mentioned it takes 6 months to a year to heal she told me I was wrong and it doesnt take that long. I didn't feel inclined to believe her because all other sources say otherwise. XD
no it hasn't but it was close to falling out so i had to take it out. but the skin started healing to the peircing and had to rip it out. now its super bruised and scared. it hurts here and there sometimes. but i wanna get it repirced .
Ok this is a late reply but- What are you cleaning it with? Alcohol is awful for it and even good saline solution can be super drying and irritating, especially if you’re spraying a lot on it. How are you cleaning it? Are you just spraying it with solution or taking the time to clean it with a q-tip/gauze? You should never spray the saline solution directly onto the piercing and never try to pry the gunks off of it even if they are wet (whether after a shower or spraying it with solution) because that’s basically you ripping off scabs, which just reopens the piercing and low and behold makes it veryyy vulnerable to infection and slows the healing process. Do you and your sister have different jewelry? Are you a stomach sleeper and she’s a back sleeper? Do you work out a lot and get sweaty more often, which creates a lot of bacteria? There are so many reasons and factors for why a belly button piercing can get irritated that it’s almost insane. But also- she should be cleaning it no matter what. It’s just gross and irresponsible not to and I’m sorry for the infection! Mine got infected too after I bumped it. Hope it healed well ❤️

A belly button piercing and gymnastics do not go well together, if it catches the wrong way, it won't end well.
Jasmine Valencia Yes it could hurt a little in the beginning, but once it’s healed it shouldn‘t hurt just because of the motions anymore. You will still need to be careful though and maybe cover it before practice
so i just got mine done. and the bar to the jewlery is really small and when it starts to swell the small bar squeezes it and makes it worse... what should i do.
callie I got mine done about 2 weeks ago, mine hasn’t swelled but the piercers are meant to pierce with a longer bar incase of swelling, just try not to catch it on anything so it won’t x

to anyone who's watching this recently- a lot of this is incorrect information, you should only clean with sterile saline solution. also, keloids are permanent scar tissue that will not go away without medical treatment. what she is talking about is IRRITATION BUMPS. super different. irritation bumps will go away if you leave them alone- don't add tea tree oil, just continue cleaning normally and LITHA (LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE!!!!!)

+Savannah Mack It really should be non-iodized sea salt but if you can't find any then use as little of the iodied sea salt that you can find! Don't over use it at all.
My belly piercing is going on 7 months now, and has just started crusting some. Even though my piercer said 10-15 weeks healing time, I know it's not fully healed. It is healing on the inside. Thank you so much for such an informative video!
Excuse me WHAT My piercer told me 4-6 weeks for healing, she said not to change it until about 12 months but the better part of healing is withing 6 weeks or the chance of rejection. Damn, she's been piercing for a super long time so now I don't know what to believe 😅😭

I got my belly button pierced 4 days ago, it just started crusting today, and when it is super tender and swelling I found what helps is using cold and hot compresses. Cold really helps with swelling and hot helps calm the redness. But that is just me personally! I started to freak out when I started seeing white puss coming out but this video helped me not freak out as much! Thank you so much! I'll definitely keep an eye on mine as it is "hard"/swollen and red in between the 2 balls.
How did it go? I'm 3 days in and it's swollen and "hard" between the two balls but it's only the tiniest bit red right by the holes. It doesn't hurt but i can kind of feel the bar(? I don't know how else to explain 😭
You can do exercises when you feel ready- keep in mind the more ab exercises you're doing in the beginning the longer it will take to heal and the more irritated it will be upfront. Also, keep in mind how dirty it gets when you're sweating or out at the gym touching the equipment with your body. When I work out with my belly piercing, as soon as I get home I soak it with a salt water solution and I didn't work out my abs for the first 2 wks
Alyssa Cruz I believe it is called "Plank Workout for a smaller waist" domething like that and it is super. You get used to it because at the beginning it's hard.

i think the part about taking 6-12 months to heal is false. i pierced my bellybutton about a month ago and all the redness is gone as well as the dryness. i even changed my bellyring this moring and i had absoulutly no pain or troubles. everybodys body is different
Kimberly Lyzbelle yeah, you're right, because my cousin changed hers like 8 months after have been pierced and it rejected a few weeks later... and I came to notice that lucky people whose body accept surface piercings have no problem, but when you don't really know how your body is going to react... it's always good to be cautious. Just in case.
Kimberly Lyzbelle piercings heal from the inside out. the skin around the piercing hole may be completely healed, but the deeper layers of the skin are still fragile and healing for several months. the same goes for tattoos- the deeper level of skin takes months to heal after the scabs are all gone
My redness went away right after she put the needle in, when I went home I'm literally washed my bed sheets clean my hand constantly and I cleaned my phone. I use hot water and a Q-Tip for cleaning mine out. I just got mine yesterday btw. Thank you for this video btw.

So far my navel and my industrial piercings are my slowist healing piercings, I've had my navel since April 2015 and my industrial since October 2014 obviously my navel isn't healed yet but neither is my industrial (hypertrophic scarring) like ugh my industrial frustrates me but I love it :)

I would recommend not laughing like i did thought because the piercer said it was more difficult to do it but yeahhh! also, its different for everyone too, and when they mark it, don't be embarrased to move it they wont be rude!! theres also LOADS of different options usually, and i had a two-jewled (srry idk how to spell it lol) puple one. its so cute, and ik this is long lol. healing time is 6 months - 1 year for average ppl. last thing is to go to A GOOD piercing place. dont go to a place where they just do tattoos, not all tattoos shop can do piercings! tattoo AND piercing shops are good too as i had mine done there. tysm for readinggg! pls dont come for me if i didn't add something btw

I'm 5 days post pierced belly button peircing. It doesn't hurt anymore, i have little redness, slightly pink, no crusting, no pain. Clean my peircing 2 times a day. I take hempseed oil capsules for my eczema and it healed my infected eczema in a week. So i tried taking hemp for my belly button peircing. I'm going into my piercer tomorrow to ask them for their thoughts. It looks a okay and I'm hella impressed! When ever i take hempseed oil for wounds on my skin, depending on the size of the wound, it can heal overnight to a week 🥰

The best thing to use for a Keloid is vitamin E oil. It takes the maximum of two weeks use it 3 to 5 times a day n you will see how its going away you can get it at CVS,Walgreen's n is only $8 n its really good n works! I got my targus Peirce and I had a keloid growing by my piercing and a experience friend of mine told me to get the vitamin E oil n I did n about two weeks it was totally gone so try n leave a feedback please! Just an advice to help your u-tube page! :)

For practice, I would cover it with breathable gauze but be very, very careful. A belly button piercing and gymnastics do not go well together, if it catches the wrong way, it won't end well.

so i just got mine done. and the bar to the jewlery is really small and when it starts to swell the small bar squeezes it and makes it worse... what should i do.
callie I got mine done about 2 weeks ago, mine hasn’t swelled but the piercers are meant to pierce with a longer bar incase of swelling, just try not to catch it on anything so it won’t x
+pat ll That's the problem, you're using regular salt on it. You're not supposed too. Antibacterial soap, and non-iodized sea salt is just enough.

a lot of this is incorrect information, you should only clean with sterile saline solution. also, keloids are permanent scar tissue that will not go away without medical treatment. what she is talking about is IRRITATION BUMPS. super different. irritation bumps will go away if you leave them alone- don't add tea tree oil, just continue cleaning normally and LITHA (LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE!!!!!)

Those are normal signs but you shouldn't be using alcohol that's way to harsh for your skin and your piercing.

My belly piercing is going on 7 months now, and has just started crusting some. Even though my piercer said 10-15 weeks healing time, I know it's not fully healed. It is healing on the inside. Thank you so much for such an informative video!

6 to 12 months is simply a median healing time. Mine took a year and four months to heal. The waiting was quite tedious, but well worth it!

I got my belly button pierced 4 days ago, it just started crusting today, and when it is super tender and swelling I found what helps is using cold and hot compresses. Cold really helps with swelling and hot helps calm the redness. But that is just me personally! I started to freak out when I started seeing white puss coming out but this video helped me not freak out as much! Thank you so much! I'll definitely keep an eye on mine as it is "hard"/swollen and red in between the 2 balls.
How did it go? I'm 3 days in and it's swollen and "hard" between the two balls but it's only the tiniest bit red right by the holes. It doesn't hurt but i can kind of feel the bar(? I don't know how else to explain 😭

You can do exercises when you feel ready- keep in mind the more ab exercises you're doing in the beginning the longer it will take to heal and the more irritated it will be upfront. Also, keep in mind how dirty it gets when you're sweating or out at the gym touching the equipment with your body. When I work out with my belly piercing, as soon as I get home I soak it with a salt water solution and I didn't work out my abs for the first 2 wks
Chloe Ting has a plank workout that is super amazing. It works your abs and core and it doesn't affect your piercing at all. Super safe.

i think the part about taking 6-12 months to heal is false. i pierced my bellybutton about a month ago and all the redness is gone as well as the dryness. i even changed my bellyring this moring and i had absoulutly no pain or troubles. everybodys body is different

Kimberly Lyzbelle piercings heal from the inside out. the skin around the piercing hole may be completely healed, but the deeper layers of the skin are still fragile and healing for several months. the same goes for tattoos- the deeper level of skin takes months to heal after the scabs are all gone

My redness went away right after she put the needle in, when I went home I'm literally washed my bed sheets clean my hand constantly and I cleaned my phone. I use hot water and a Q-Tip for cleaning mine out. I just got mine yesterday btw. Thank you for this video btw.

So far my navel and my industrial piercings are my slowist healing piercings, I've had my navel since April 2015 and my industrial since October 2014 obviously my navel isn't healed yet but neither is my industrial (hypertrophic scarring) like ugh my industrial frustrates me but I love it :)

I got mine done yesterday.. I'm on vacation and IVE BEEN SWIMMING ALL DAY. I'm in Panama city beach in Florida which is a tourist area. Especially this time of year. My piercer didn't tell me anything about going swimming. He just said to use h2ocean and it should heal in 8 weeks. But apparently not 💀💀

edit: hey yallll! BIG update. for me it was like a 5.5/10 pain and if u don't like the pain try holding on to something and it would help loads. I would recommend not laughing like i did thought because the piercer said it was more difficult to do it but yeahhh! also, its different for everyone too, and when they mark it, don't be embarrased to move it they wont be rude!! theres also LOADS of different options usually, and i had a two-jewled (srry idk how to spell it lol) puple one. its so cute, and ik this is long lol. healing time is 6 months - 1 year for average ppl. last thing is to go to A GOOD piercing place. dont go to a place where they just do tattoos, not all tattoos shop can do piercings! tattoo AND piercing shops are good too as i had mine done there. tysm for readinggg! pls dont come for me if i didn't add something btw

I'm 5 days post pierced belly button peircing. It doesn't hurt anymore, i have little redness, slightly pink, no crusting, no pain. Clean my peircing 2 times a day. I take hempseed oil capsules for my eczema and it healed my infected eczema in a week. So i tried taking hemp for my belly button peircing. I'm going into my piercer tomorrow to ask them for their thoughts. It looks a okay and I'm hella impressed! When ever i take hempseed oil for wounds on my skin, depending on the size of the wound, it can heal overnight to a week 🥰

The best thing to use for a Keloid is vitamin E oil. It takes the maximum of two weeks use it 3 to 5 times a day n you will see how its going away you can get it at CVS,Walgreen's n is only $8 n its really good n works!
I got my targus Peirce and I had a keloid growing by my piercing and a experience friend of mine told me to get the vitamin E oil n I did n about two weeks it was totally gone so try n leave a feedback please!
