When it comes to Odysseus and Eurylochus, I’m a hater for both and a defender at the same time. Odysseus was a dumbass for doxxing himself and for sparing the cyclops but give him credit here, he was following his best friend last wishes. Eurylochus was a dumbass for opening the windbag but like he didn’t fully trust the captain after that fiasco. Odysseus is right when he says that Eurylochus would do the same. But that same thing made both of them loose trust in eachother. Both of them are just insomatic emotionally constipated idiots that miss home.

I LOVED ypu choice of Ody trying to avoid pulling his blade until the last moment. Ody's reluctance to engage Eury conveys a sense of guilt that I haven't seen in other portrayals that I think is true to his character
I definitely agree, since the whole reason he became the monster was not just for himself, but so he wouldn't lose anyone else, and now he's sacrificed six men and facing the choice of fighting someone he's close to. He doesn't want to do this, he did all of this for the group as a whole and knew no other way to get past Scylla or he would've tried that other way. Now he's having to question if being the monster means killing off members of his crew who caused problems, like Aeolus told him to.
I think this is able to show a very interesting perspective. There's nothing flashy about this which I think can kind of show just how tired everyone is. He did a really good job.
I really love that you didn’t have Odysseus raise his sword until Eurylochus was about to kill him. It’s how I’ve always imagined the scene- Odysseus trying to use his words to talk Eurylochus down as he truly didn’t want to hurt his friend. And while I may be just seeing things, the last look Eurylochus gives him seems almost apologetic or sad as much as it is angry. Very good job.

I like Eurylochus as a foil character for Odysseus, but he is also the kind of guy who ends up being a huge liability (as we see later when he does something stupid and gets himself and the rest of the crew killed). It was time for him to go.
Not to mention, he opened the bag in the first place, AND he was willing to abandon men to being pigs. Like him being self-righteously angry here when just a few sagas ago he was like "lol let's bail on our pig friends and leave them to be eaten" drives me insane.

There's also the fact that Odysseus wasn't just accepting the deaths of crew members, but actively tricking them into becoming unwitting sacrifices, giving orders he knew would kill them.
