My goodness kids, what an ordeal! RIP window! I cracked up about the stuff in Arielle's hair and she said 'It's apart of me now!" lol! I bet that was no fun brushing out! I clapped for her when she downed her first tree! Maybe the title should have been "The Chickening" hehe. As always, fantastic video and yummy meal.

If you take coffee grounds and bake them until they start to burn and then sprinkle them around the area you’re working in it will help to deter the mosquitoes. The coffee doesn’t necessarily have to be burnt if you don’t feel like taking that extra step. Burning them just makes a stronger odor that they don’t like. The smell hides the odor of fresh blood making it more difficult for the mosquitoes to find you. I’ve always had success with this method.

As an undergrad I was tasked with the dendrochronology (counting tree rings) of tamaracks that were killed in a freakishly cold winter in a local bog. I would have trunks no more than three inches across well over a hundred years old. We had to use a microscope to count the rings, some which were only one cell layer thick.

I appreciate and love the way you both work together. Living (stationed) in Alaska for 3 years now and we love it, but tours come to an end. Next year, summer it's it. We're also from California, but southern California. Again, one last winter for us. Maybe we'll see you both in the ice. Hopefully pull out a Lake trout as that and a sheefish are the last to harvest. We love Alaska and respect and love the beauty. Thank you guys for the amazing content.

Having a light at the entrance helps them find their coop if you move it around. Works great for smaller roaming coops

I had been given a homemade coop a few years back. When I did some alterations on it and had to remove the foam board in some areas, they were infested with ants. Tunnels everywhere throughout each foam board. I'm in the upper north - east of NY. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you guys. But over time if it seems colder on the inside you might want to check them. Beautiful birds.

The moss in your hair...'oh can't get it out, its part of me now'....absolutely hilarious. Endearing that Eric was attempting to groom his love...by the way, how long DID it take to remove all the twigs, moss, etc? Great teamwork, you guys!

Consider planting lavender, around your perimeter, to reduce mosquitos and flying bugs. Maybe in raised beds. Would look lovely in large groups.
Consult your local nursery or master gardeners for alternatives and recomendations!
