Today we're working on a space that connects up all the other spaces we've been working on throughout the home. I knew I wanted to use an accent color on the doors + trim and after some consideration i went with RED! I was finally able to go through my small collection of vintage.art and find homes for them within the hall which i'm excited to continuously add too!

❤FOR SQUEAKY FLOORS - I was told by my 94 year old Nana to work in some baby powder to the area where the wood floors squeaked, and it fixed the problem!!! It took some work but problem was solved!😊
@@olgasantiago-agirlfriendsguideI like squeaky floors! My home is only from 1960, but the squeak is reminisce of a much older home.
I would think baby powder would work because it would cause a barrier between the wood slats from rubbing together or at least making that noise.

When I was younger I had the opportunity as a Journalist to visit may country homes of very wealthy people from "old" money. All their houses were warm and comforting, walls full of art and bookcases full of old books and odd and interesting things. You can never have too much art. You decorate like an old wealthy soul and you make it all look like it's been that way for years! Fabulous!
What I love most about your work is that you take us out of our comfort zones and always land on something so perfectly styled and cozy at the end! I was like - glossy terracotta doors in a tight corridor...OK, let me see where this is going! And you delivered once again! You love to play and it shows in such a big way. Much love from EU :).
As usual, you have breathed life into another area of your home. You have made your old home feel like new. It's youthful and a little whimsical, with it's unexpected pops of color. Your hallway is warm and inviting. It screams, "WELCOME!" I love it!

A plain hallway went from utilitarian point A to point B, to "welcome, take your time & enjoy" too bad there wasn't a bit extra width in order to include a small chair or bench so as to really take some time for appreciation! ❤❤❤

Nothing like the color red to attract the eye; it is vibrant and commands attention. The high gloss was very bold, but in my opinion, you were totally right with that choice. The space looks amazing ❤
I feel like the high gloss adds a slight modern edge as almost everything else is vintage or older!
@@lonefox I think glossy finishes are rather traditional. Although it is not as popular as it used to be (maybe because it is difficult to work with), it can create beautiful finishes; the proof is what you did in your hallway, just beautiful. You were very savvy in the use of the color red, a very predominant color in Spanish homes as well as yellow, which are the colors of the Spanish flag 🇪🇸 ☺️

You really have a gift, vision because every single time, during the process, I'm like : "are you sure about this colour? Are you sure about this, about that? Mmmh not my taste" and in the end I'm blown away, it works! This corridor looks like it's been there and tastefully curated for years! It really feels homely, well done!

I’m blown completely away by this makeover-everything you’ve done is perfect for the space and the home! There’s nothing you’ve done that seems off or doesn’t fit. It’s just perfect!! Your skills are really increasing with every space! When I see this hallway, it looks like photos I’ve seen from very old homes in Spain or France.

This turned out incredible! You've got such a natural talent for envisioning and executing your ideas. I have to say, that one angle you shot, coming from the coffee bar area peeking into the hallway, I literally gasped seeing that red with the brown in the foreground of the shot, it just did something for me. I am always inspired by you and your vision and you make me excited for when I buy a house, what I will be capable of creating.
YOU MUST see it during sunset because the sun floods into the dining room and coffee bar and the colors are just BEYOND!

To be 10000% honest the adjustment with a new puppy has been a lot! Winston is one of those puppies you have to watch 24/7… I’ve always worked myself from sunrise to sunset and adding a dog to the mix, I couldn’t fulfill every obligation if that makes sense! So just adjusting back into the groove up regular uploads! This hallway and the bedroom drama also was quite a process

My Oliver has been battling Heart Failure (Maltese) for three years now and I’m seriously considering getting another puppy, I’m talking myself into the process of starting all over again. I don’t know how I can live in this house without a dog 🐶. It’s just part of my world ❤

At first, I didn't think I was going to like it. I thought that colour was just too much for such a narrow space as a hallway. But it absolutely makes the space! The touches, from the doorknobs and plates, to the addition to the baseboards, the makeover is fantastic! The added touch of the oversized lantern, the stained glass, and "Winston's Toy Box" ... chef's kiss! The desk pulls from the dark in the carpet just as much as the red doors pull the red from the carpet. I truly enjoyed this one, Drew!

The blue hutch really ties everything in by adding the last primary color to the yelllowish walls and the red doors. It looks fabulous! The art pieces are not my cup of tea as they're pretty dark and heavy, but ofc it all looks amazing together. I really appreciate how you've honored the era of this house and really took this renovation as an opportunity to innovate and finetune your personal decor style (+ you're still so young wtf you are going to be big in the design world in a couple of years/decades, you have the potential to become one of the GOATS of interior design)

The gloss doors are incredible! As soon as you popped the blue desk in there (and even the shots throught the bluish on screen kitchen) - the blues completed the primary colour triangle of the yellow (ish) walls and red doors - balance! I can't believe this was a complete makeover in one video - spoilt! ✨

I've always thought of a hallway as something you use to just get from one room to another but you have made it a "room" in it's own right. I was a bit surprised to see you paint the door handles that came with the house, seems like it would make them harder to reuse, if not for yourself then for someone else.

Super minor detail but if you ever plan on changing out the light switches, I feel like a brass toggle light switch (or a brass knob dimmer) would be super cute and match all the brass you already have going on in the room :)
