the Tessamans collection is a collaboration with the Dutch-based design studio Raw Collor.
Here in Europe, I can see a group of color lovers, that are definitively not Gen Z. But arty people inspired by the Bauhaus who love bold & bright colors. (mostly primary colors but pastels are a hit too!)
Anyway, the collection sold out so quickly in Amsterdam that I haven't had time to have a look at it.
Finally time for some colors, yeah!

This is how I feel! I’m a painter and ceramicist and love color. I draw inspiration from many of the artistic and design movements under the ‘Modernism’ umbrella. I think intentionally placed colorful pieces from different styles and eras can really make a room pop. Some of these pieces could enhance a space without being cluttered by the same palette.

Being a Dane in my mid forties, the fabrics and furniture give me really strong summer in the Nordics, visiting the family summer cabin and walking to the beach in my childhood - the patterns and colours were so cringe to me as a teen, but by now it's all just nostalgia.
None of this will ever make it into my home, not in a million years, but I could absolutely appreciate visiting someone else and and enjoying the happy vibes and the lack of mildew funk that is otherwise stuck in my memory and forever associated with yellow and orange flower patterns for me because, well, damp summer cabins in the Nordics 😅😅

Oh gawd! I was married in 1974 and the vomititus colors of orange and Avacado green were gross then and they still are today somethings never change. I collected Shaker and primitive painted furniture. My three children have some pieces along with tradition things. I find my old style looks fabulous still today. My home a 200+ historic one is on house tours from time to time. It works and I’m still happy at almost 70. Love to you Nick😊

Yeah, I was married in 1975 . I’ve always hated orange in most any tint or hue, and though green is my favorite color, not avocado green. And the two colors together I found absolutely distressing! I didn’t mind the harvest gold though, and actually purchased a refrigerator in that color. I was SO relieved when 1980 brought the natural and organic, neutral colors and shades of brown and off-white.

I am also an older Gen-X. The house we bought in 1999 came with avocado green kitchen counters. They’re still here. They need replacing, but I like them. lol The orange is ok in small amounts as decor, though I don’t currently have anything that color in my house. Harvest gold is an absolute no.
My mother had a 1950’s style pink kitchen the whole time I lived at home, and my grandparents’ house remained firmly in the 1950’s, so I didn’t live with it to now hate it. Mom did have some harvest gold small appliances, so there’s my issue with that color. lol

Back in 1965 I baby sat for a family of three rambunctious boys. One evening (while the boys were arm wrestling in their mutual bathroom over which one could brush his teeth first), I needed a toilet trip of my own. I decided my only option was to use the master bathroom. To access that toilet area, I had to walk through the master bedroom, which I hadn’t yet seen. The wall to wall carpet in the bedroom was a shag of long fibers, some turquoise blue, others chartreuse green. That color scheme and carpet type were not unusual for the era. What traumatized me was that this carpeting was not only wall to wall, it was ceiling to ceiling. The carpet covered the floor and ran up all four walls, ending at the intersections with the ceiling. I felt liked I’d been swallowed by a sea monster from a Peter Max poster. I decided that I didn’t want to see what decorating nightmare awaited in the master bathroom. I fled into the hallway and waited for my turn in the boys’ bathroom. Messy as it was, I felt much safer there.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed to not get a description of that master bath! I knew of the trend to completely carpet every surface but have only seen it applied to panel vans, where it made some sense in case you bounced into the ceiling!

I actually had a red metal bar cart in the mid 80s when I was in my early 20s. It wasn't Ikea, but it was from Europe. It had two glass shelves painted with a 1 inch, thinly painted gloss black grid on them, and it had black casters. I really loved that cart as a young person.

I married in the mid seventies and I had a very dark brown wall in my sitting room and a terracotta painted, feature wall in my bedroom. Dark brown sheets and towels and a sofa, all from Habitat. It looked fine with off -white walls and oatmeal Berber wool carpets and some bright cushions rugs etc.
I wasn’t into avocado or brown bathrooms suites though.

I’m a millennial (like smack dap in the middle, can’t be anything else) and I have been thrifting 60s/70s home decor my entire adult life and I’m loving all the vintage designs and color.
The bright sunflower fabric is especially calling my name.

That mobil reminds me of my favorite film, Auntie Mame. As an aunt she's my inspiration. I never abandoned color. My kitchen table is red formica from the fifties. I collect vintage swung glass in all colors. I am so happy to see the color! I thrift flipped Merry Mushrooms. It was listed for five minutes and already had a buyer. The kids love the 70s style.

So THAT'S why your clock is always at 12:18! I had thought either you were very prompt with your video start times... until the hands never moved, or was that a still shot background. I guess if it's actually concrete it would be a challenge to remove & replace the battery😊. Love your commentary, so fun

I do like orange, so that is the color of my car exterior. Easy to find in a parking lot! In my house, it is a combo of old family furniture, furniture I brought home from Europe and Ikea. And it all works.
