Cowboy is the perfect combination of badass and cool as shit-- a great ambassador for MMA.
My 2 favorite cowboys. I've been a huge cowboy fan for 15 years now. Guy is a living legend. Live a life with living. When he said that, my whole mind set changed
Man ya'll r some lucky cowboy's. To sit down and rub elbows with folks like this. Cerrone is a legend to hangout with that guy for a day would be awesome.
FYI I'd about bet anything if he pulls it off and rides that bull he will get on another one. With the newly found balls I don't see him stopping there.
Dale, you are really getting great at this whole interview/podcast host thing.. alot of hosts like to talk to much or interrupt. You say just enough to keep the conversation going and exciting. Keep pushing Dale cause it's working
100% correct
Graduated in 98, was born in 1980. I remember buddies who were steer riding in Jr High. Me and a few friends set up a drum between 4 pines at my families place and we went to work. The next weekend I mustered up the courage to start bulldogging (steer wrestling) and within a month I purchased a bull rope, riding glove and some resin. Then gathered up the courage to get on the back of these boney ass 800-1000 pound wild ass steers. Damn I miss them days of hot beers, wranglers and most of all the fellowship!! Enjoyed the ever living phuck out of this conversation, thanks to everyone involved 👍
Cowboys a legendary fighter one of the best to ever do it hall of famer and to think the hardcore fans were lucky enough to see him come up through the tapout days wec to UFC
This particular video was a recommendation after I got done listening to the "Don (Frye) & Dan's (Severn) Toxic Masculinity Podcast" so it's definitely having a show that's about Bull Riding and one of the greatest to ever fight in mixed martial arts. For anyone who hasn't seen his WEC days prior to the UFC and you're a current fan; those are must see and I'm sure they're on YT...or Fight Pass if you've got that.
MMA has been "mainstream" less than 20 years. It's crazy to think this was almost completely outlawed (headed by Senator McCain). As as a former fighter myself, listening to the guys who were doing at a much higher level than I was (back at that time) and the old school guys who were there at the beginning, telling stories that I can relate to -- Let's just say this type of content is sorely needed in today's world with the lack of manliness that's been pushed by almost everything else that's "mainstream".
Cowboy Cerone is LEGENDARY amongst the hardcore fans...aka, fellow fighters and people who train (or trained) on a regular basis but he garnered massive popularity from your Mainstream fans once he hit the UFC. The Cowboy-Connor fight was a disappointment to some and even Cowboy himself; However, anyone who has ever done this for an extended period of time knows exactly what he's talking about with not wanting to be there for whatever reason, which usually didn't end in our favor. Other than that, I cannot remember ANY fight that he had that was considered a disappointment and there were a TON of them.
That all being said -- I've always found bull & horse riding to be interesting to watch and to be fair it's no surprise that he's giving this a shot; even if it's temporary. Not too bad of an interview so I might have to check out a few more guests.
*Edit* Congrats on training some BJJ because that will help you with EVERYTHING you do in life and if I had to take a guess; definitely with the Bull Riding!
Cowboy is one of my ALL TIME favorite fighters! For all the reasons
You have my respect cowboy! Love what you're doing for the kids my man.
Was on set with cowboy for his first feature film. Dudes a real cowboy without a doubt😂. There was a bodybuilder type dude who came by and watched filming for a bit with his girlfriend, after he left cowboy turns to me in between takes and says “aw shit, I was enjoying looking at his woman” 😂
Dude is seriously hilarious and on top of that a great actor even in the first film he ever did. It’s fun when someone you watched for years is even cooler than you imagined them being. Actually a super humble dude too. Legend status without a doubt.
“Clean up on isle 5”😆
That was great Dale!
About time this dropped..I searched high and low for this yesterday at work.
Right ? I was even looking in the scrap metal bin smh
Love cowboy! Hope he rides 92 on ol twisted steel! Need to see more of these two together! Great pod 👏
One of the best interviews ever on this channel.
Donald is a real one!
We fucking love hearing old cowboy stories!!! And we love you dale!
Been waiting for this interview for a while!
Cowboy is still my fav even though time caught up with him in the end🤙
We could see you were not there against Conor, which is super shame. Wanted to see how you headkick him following up w some super necessary hammer fists. But Cowboy is still a real BMF, legend! Great podcast, enjoyed it.
Cowboy was always one of my favourite fighters.
Great interview Oh Dale ya.love Dons stories .
There are still positive male role models if u know where to look,Mr Cerrone is a class act,it's been an honor to watch him fight and be rad
Cerrone is a real G
Thanks @cowboycerrone for this interview.. hopefully we get one on your progress over the next couple months.. and good job for the questions from that @DaleBrisby guy..
We love Cowboy!🤠
Badass podcast right there bro! Thoroughly enjoyed every second!
57:43 right around here. Coach Cerrone sounds amazing. I know he’s done fighting. He’d be an amazing corner man. I bet he’d say some epic shit in the corner.
Cowboy 🤠 has always been 1 of my fav MMA fighters and he lives life to the Max ,,, Good Dude too Great PodCast and im a New Subscriber 💯🔥 💪 👊 💣💥
I’m stoked for Cowboys debut. With his killer mindset, strength, and conditioning he might shock some folks.
The groin was a bad deal for me when I was starting out. Get on a horse bareback and ride often and it really will help
Dale's man bun means business😂
Let's go cowboy can't wait to watch you ride!
8:32 Donald said, "...which is why I think I had the fans I had". Newsflash Cowboy: the fans that you HAVE. We still appreciate you. Enjoy the ride. (You're alright too Dale. If you made a 'Super Puncher' vid with Cerrone, you'd be even better.)
Reply
the professionals do look good ridin them but gotta remember and thier riding rank bulls !! salute !
Cowboy is tha fn man, dale yeaa!
Kevin Holland is the cowboy of today !
Freaking awesome and crazily educational..❤😊
Great combo! Great interview! If that doesn't motivate you to go out and tackle life, what does?!
My Favorite Fighter of
All time. Riding a Professional caliber
Bull. Is very very Dangerous. Wish you
Could find a another way to help raise Money for those Kids.
Bullriding can be a deadly game.
Cowboy is a rarebreed. respect
Cowboy if you ever wanna come to the mountains of east tn and hunt and fish holler lol
I've seen Cowboy before.
When he announced he wanted to come into the Rodeo world on a challenge. I started looking at him.
He can make it. Glad to support him . I personally backed away from the UFC for all the yapping the new guys do.
As ya'll were talking. That is one of the things that turned everyone onto the PBR. We no longer had to check in with a secretary in the afternoon and lay around and wait for 6 events and everyone to get out of our way.
Between Dale and J.B. he has a good shot at covering this bull.
Ya'll should think about a 3 shot deal.
Keep him healthy and train him up Dale.
Toes out. Chin down Ol Son!
What % do consider a “good shot” at success against Twisted Steel? I’ll give you 2 to 1 odds he doesn’t make 8 seconds! I love Cowboy..but just like fighting, there’s levels to this game. The absolute BEST in the world have only rode Twisted Steel 3 times! Even with Dale and JB…he has almost no shot. I wish him well. And kudos for having the balls to even attempt it. Cerrone is a legend.
@@dalereinhold640
I am a retired rider.
I understand the game.
A rookie rider against a rank bull is a bad match up. I think they should do a 3 shot deal to be fair.
Experienced riders have a hard enough time. Riders sometimes make it look easy.
This is good PR for all involved. I would like to see him cover the bull.
@@travishendrix7026 Yeah, don’t think Dana wants to put Cowboy in danger anymore than the 1 ride. He’s knows he can’t talk him out of trying once, so he’ll pay the 100k to charity and let him get it out of his system, but he cares about Cowboy and his well being to agree to multiple attempts.
I was around the fight scene for about half a decade as an amateru with a pro coach and im not guna lie when he said 12 and 12I thought he meant 1200 lol not 12 000 and i I was think ya thats pretty rough, but 12 000 your first fight in the ufc when you dont even have a name yet. Thats pretty good money, I remember my coach fighting in a lesser org making 1000 to show 1000 to win as an undefeated fairly accomplished up and coming pro. He used to tell me when/if i went pro I could expect to make 500 to show 500 to win in my first few fights, I got a fulltime job shortly after and never looked back hahaha Oh ya and cowboy was always my favorite fighter met him briefly when I did a Fight camp in Albuquerque back in 2017.
Let’s go !!!!
And im a 100 percent with the road rage issue and its getting worse the foreigners r terrible drivers.
"Getting my ass checked that I can't cash. But I'm here taking out withdrawals so I can cash it later"
-Donald COWBOY Cerrone
The way they were talking about how you can't think or worry about what happened the previous time someone rode such and such and got messed up is all well and positive thinking etc, but after Tuff got his face brought down onto the head of Bodacious that time, i doubt anyone riding that bull after that didn't have that vision running through their mind
Dale needs a shirt of himself in a martial arts gi with his hat and glasses. I may have misspelled gi
Ye boy cowboy
Every fighter instantly ages ten years once they retire
My mom knows who Dale Brisby is. She said his fame is legendary.
46:23 oh i stay pissed off in traffic! I stopped and got out and punched a guy through his window once. The window was down he was trying to get it up. I punched a guy that was on a motorcycle one day also and he took off and stopped at a pay phone. For you younger folks we didn’t have phones n our hands they were on poles spread out all over town. Always one on a corner. So he was calling the police so I didn’t stick around.
I fought a guy for about 45 minutes one day and i did damn good for the first 15 minutes the next 30 minutes this guy managed to beat me beyond recognition. That’s when i learned about endurance lol.
Volc is like cowboy
Two bad motherfuckers right here!! Let’s go cowboys! God bless
MMA is amazing you can do it dale
Could you imagine if jb mauney got on trt he would be a beast
Ol’ boy spits TRT dude! Lol
How has he been doing riding? Actually got him riding twisted steel
how did you get your hair done, Cowboy and where? how much was it?
Thee Ol Son, holy guacamole 🥑
Night night 😙😙
I train the horses yall ride from Tom tomas house.
Donald has for sure got on some doctor prescribed supplemnts. His facial structure has changed. Definitely test and probably something else. I dont blame him. If you can afford it, why not? Makes your quality of life better and aging an easier process.
Granite
Whats the Wolverine super mixture?
🧟♀️ 🧟♂️ Apocalypse.... I'll take Cowboy, Sean Strickland, and Bryce Mitchell in my camp !! We liven for a minute!!
Did they slide a "so gay..." in there? 🤠
Cowboy if you’re selling jerky we should link up.
Clean up on isle 5 😂
😮❤😮❤😮❤
You can't compare what you made 800$ to 12/12 with the way inflation rates are. It will never work. Also, Cowboy himself said he never saw ppv money from any of the cards he was on.
Money Moicano is the new Cowboy
No…he’s definitely NOT! Moicano is not “Anyone, anytime, anywhere” fighter. He wouldn’t call himself “Money Moicano” if he was. He wouldn’t fight Bobby Green when Green needed an opponent. Cowboy would’ve took that fight,no questions asked.
@@dalereinhold640 fair enough.
Volkanovski? Seems ready for all the heat.
First 🤠
BMF Hostile Hostel.
🤔
24k is not a lot of money….. cmon man
Before the Floyd fight...Conor was that guy....Okay Aldo cant go whos next.
Fights his way up through 145 beats a man a warrior who had defended the belt for 10 years in 13 seconds.
Jumps to 155 then Desantos pulls out so he fights Nate at 170
Whips Nate the first 8 mins of the fight and gassed out not to mention it was 2 classes above his class at the time Nate chokes him out
He comes back same weight when they said he could get the Conor Nate #2 at 155 he said no i want 170 he beats Nate
He takes out Eddie
He goes 10 rounds with P4P the greatest in Boxing
After that he comes back not as hungry and Khabib beats him
He refocuses comes back at 170 and knocks out the man in this podcast.
And the 1-1 vs Dustin the 3rd fight was a fluke Dustin walks aroumd like he did something after getting his head and face boxed off before the leg break
At 1 point Conor was THAT GUY
he praised dana for pay in the past. he prob salty he didnt get hired for slap or commentary
Such a shame to see a legend (Donald) taking time for a fake (stale frisby)
The cowboy of today is Kevin holland
Indeed... he even turned down a fight WITH Cowboy because he respected him so much he didn't just want the name on his resume.
Started Judo in 1967. Raced motorcycles in the 70's. In the 80s I worked around a boxing family (Arroyo's). In the 90s I lived next door to a family of ranked Bull Riders (Stephens) and eventually helped with schools and even built a portable arena and promoted 40 man Jackpots. You two remind me of all those folks and how solid they were. Some of the best people I've ever been around.
Dam Johnny, you need to write a book. A man of many talents.
Man that was just how people were then and I think it’s coming back as fast as it left.
This is only about 25% of what I've done. I've been lucky, just being at the right place at the right time. @@mattmorrison9379
I smell bullshit
I smell bullshit
Cowboy may not be undefeated or my top fighter but he is legit the baddest dude in the company (ufc) dude was always ready for a scrap. Much respect
Found this channel yesterday. I’ve already listened to 5 pods. Had to subscribe, great stuff.
I forgot to mention ,I'm 39 and have been watching UFC for 25 years we'll say. Cowboy is the most memorable fighter in my mind along with the Diaz Bros. I really hope he conquers twisted steel that would be the coolest thing ever. I've only been to the rodeo once and that was at MSG so real rodeo idk but amazing to see J.B. in person and catch a hat. #cowboy #twistedsteel #danawhite #olson #dalebrisby #pickme
I’m sitting here in my lazyboy thinking how hard could it really be Cowboy?
If somebody grabbed your hair the wig would just come off
Great video keep up the work dale
You two have renewed my faith in people. Thank you.
Be part of the machine means.... Do what Dana says and what the UFC wants and you will keep fighting....
Love the cowboy most famous person that is for the blue collar working man and we appreciate it brother great episode dale.
Company man cerrone
re. his hair, "Maybe they would give me time to put it in a bun...?" Lmaaooooooo!
Such huge life lessons explained so simply. Needed this one for sure 🤙🏼
Awesome video love you cowboy
Dale. I moved to Texas to ride bulls and punch fools. Haven’t done either of those things yet, and I’m 32… if you’re ever close to Abilene I’ll come see you. My 3 kids love you and JB. My son talks about you guys non stop. I didn’t know that I could have asked you to autograph the stuff I got him for his birthday….. keep up the cool stuff man.
I’m tired of hearing all the old guys saying be happy with 12 and 12 because I fought for 500 bucks in a high school gym in 1997. The ufc is worth billions. There’s only about 500 ufc fighters in the entire world. 50k bonus has been the same since like 2006. Inflation? You shouldn’t have to “sell out” every PPV to make what you would expect a professional athlete to make in 2024 with fights on ESPN and the octagon looking like a nascar. Only like 10 people in the history of the sport could “sell out” a PPV. There’s a reason Dana white loves bringing in tons of rookies on the contender so they can all start out with peanuts. The ufc revenue has to be even higher considering they stopped having events at real arenas and have 75% of them at the high school gymnasium that is the ufc apex.
I don’t think you watch the UFC
JB and Cowboy have alot in common in how they made their names huge. JB would get on anything at anywhere and especially the ones nobody else wanted to ride. Cowboy fought whoever, whenever. He was there to win and his opponent shouldn't take the beat down personally because Cowboy was there to do his job..
Cowboys attitude reminds me of the sawmillers and loggers I grew up with. All my best buddies. You’re gonna ride ol Twisted Steel. Maybe not the first time but you’ll get it done brother!
Great interview. Cool setup. Good peoples.
I’m a 45 year old man and would probably learn something from Cowboys kids camp lol
What you see is what you get, but the hair is another story
Doesnt get any more real than cowboy
The chest game of LIFE!!! ❤❤❤
