Does this open completely flat?
If you unbutton the center cloth divider, then it can be folded flat.
Does the compact Version also have a serial number? If so, where do I find it?
On the outside frame near the hinge: This is a common location for many Rimowa models. The serial number is engraved.
does this fit underseat on airplanes?
No. Too tight. Overhead bins will work!
I am struggling with the Compact and Pilot also...
Let me know which one you decided to get. I have a feeling I will have both eventually. Haha.
