I remember this movie was so underrated when it came out. Unfortunately it came out during a period of terrible movies and seemed to get lost in the shuffle.
@AM Lightspeedy One action does not necessarily have anything to do with the other, no need to connect dots here! Even if the dots connect to the bloodshed of innocent victims…LMAO!
That sad moment when he saw the mom and the kid getting harmed by those people before that scene comes and he was like ''wtf is this'' with tearing eyes OMG I JUST WANTED TO CRY ISN'T HE AMAZING?
"Half of the guns were left, so I was entitled to half of the diamonds. If I took them, I was lost. If I left them, I was lost." That line seriously put the cherry on the cake that this scene is.
Just saw this movie only because of Jared, he's mindblowing, Vitaly was the best character in the movie (actually the only one I liked, I guess), hurts me so much watching him die! Anyway amazing movie, puts you into some thought, worths a shot!
I was talking about how selfish the main character, not Vitaly. The main character was incredibly selfish he was to not notice or understand what that business was doing to Vitaly.
@TheNuharoo HIs brother didn't do what he did because he was messed up, he did it because he had so much heart he couldn't stand to see those people massacred so he killed himself trying to save their lives.
No just naive, what do you think would happen if they said no? Oh that’s ok well do business elsewhere. Nope, your both going to die and then they will take the weapons and kill them anyway.
No . He was a ruthless gunrunner that grew a conscience at the worst possible time. There is merit in that, sure. But doesnt sponge all the years he helped Yuri with no remorse before that.
Es es fusilamiento más hermoso que ví. Jared muere como nadie. Ese pecho nació para ser acribillado así. La manera en que recibe las dos ultimas ráfagas de metralla es sublime. Excitante al extremo!
@@hollywoodshopaholic it would be nice to have it available and play with it all the time. I dressed as those soldiers, and he acting for me that death. and again. and also be his character, and have both soldiers shoot me! how I would love to act opening my chest to bullets the way Jared does!!!
Crazy how two actors that have worked with Cage .. there careers have blown up and made them a listers along with Oscar wine .. Sam Rockwell and Jared Leto.. they need to try to get Cage into the big time again
That scene destroyed me. I am male, i watched this movie 4 times now, interpreted every second to the limit...and i shed a tear each time on this scene.
well its not necessary to say that you are male - everyone is allowed to be emotional. Its very hard to see, that he is concluding the deal after the death of his brother.
Nihlus x Well spoken. I was about to disagree but then I thought about the girls and women I know and...you are right. It's not because I want to feel superior only because I am male myself, but really, you are right.
Exist64 I don't say this because I hate women or anything, I say this because it is a sad reality of the way women are conditioned from a young age. I wish it was not like this.
Whenever I reviewed the beatitude, this will always come up in my mind: "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matt. 5: 10
I always think that the character of Vitaly Orlov was very similar to Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad , and also the similitude between Yuri and Walter. The Yuri actions ans his cold realism who consist to sold weapons to the worst peoples in this world just destroy the hopes and the innocence of Vitaly , his not destinate to this world , like Jessy with Heisenberg.
***** He died in Panic Room, American Psycho and Alexander too, got seriously injured in Fight Club and had his arm emputated in Requiem for a Dream. So yeah... He does have a kind of ill fated character in the vast majority of his movies.
I don't understand why Yuri brought him to West Africa..He of all man should know his brother is not cut out to be a gun runner. I really don't see how Vit could help him out in that trip...
I think it's all in the handle off the grenade. Once the handle is released, no way back, but the pin only holds the handle back, so if you hold the handle and put the pin back, it should work. That's my guess since it seems more logical to me :)
Se mueren en mi presencia. Soy médica. En las guardias llega gente que se está muriendo. Además se me han muerto familiares mientras los cuidaba. Ya me cansé de ver muertos. Actualmente no ejerzo. Aclaro que los que se murieron no eran precisamente mis pacientes, sino que entraban a la guardia estando muy graves.
@ielvisthegreat I don't think he was that weak at all, he became addicted after he saw the consequences of their actions. There are lots of people who have a better life than this charactter, which also do drugs and get wasted. His life became meaningless and his brother probably stopped his recovery processes by giving him shots and money everytime his brother begged for ir.
*this movie scene never left my mind, I always wondered why vitaly did that, what was going on in his head, what sr.orlov was doing was wrong even so if he did not anyway others would do, but why vitaly did that? Is it worth dying for unknown people?*
igor santos I believe it's called getting caught up in the moment. Vitaly saw people less fortunate about to be slaughtered and if he didn't do something, the people behind it would get away with it. Unfortunately that something ended being getting himself killed.
I remember this movie was so underrated when it came out. Unfortunately it came out during a period of terrible movies and seemed to get lost in the shuffle.
The beginning scene where the bullets life us shown from manufacturing to a child soldier's head is pretty astonishing. Well done.
That's so smart
This movie is a great example of how great an actor Cage is. People seem to forget that nowadays.
Tony Danek idk, he always looks so stupid in my opiniom
He is one of the greatest ever.
BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA! Oh man that is a fucking good joke, cant wait to tell everyone.
@@TheMavericktheone No, *you* shut up, kid.
Uhm, this was the last and one of the only times he ever had a good Performance.
ironic that vitaly was a crackhead but showed more conscience than yuri.
He said he was clean a little before this
it's probably because he had that conscience that he was a crackhead.
Then what? They kill them both, take the guns and massacre them anyway
Well, cokehead, but we get your point. And agree.
Loved the way he spilt the diamonds like nothing happened and didn’t blame him for his brothers action! Very honorable!

If some mass shooter killed your family members, but they otherwise hold their end of bargains and pay their bills, would you call them honorable?
Vitaly's face looked truly heartbroken in the moment he died.
Jared leto deserves more than one Oscar..he's such a great actor
his joker was shit though
Panic room and lord of war both great films

Nicolas Cage & Jared Leto are extremely talented actors. Great movie for sure but sad scene :(
This is where i actually first saw Jared Leto and first fell in love with him, just for his performance in this movie.
Such beautiful eyes

Katy Perry eyes
Thank you.
Joker and Ghost Ryder
watched this awhile back and i still cry, this is one of the saddest scenes in movie history
you missed the scene when he splits the diamonds (pay for guns) in half with a machete. really cool scene
The best part, cold

The Lord of War movie it is amazing, i have seen it three times and i still say: It's one of my favorites movies and the soundtrack it's awesome!
