Arin and Dan being far away from the mics when it's their turn is the authentic bowling experience of trying to talk to your friend as they go up to bowl and you stay seated.
The trick with old Wii bowling was you do the bowl motion but don't let go, then release, the ball leaps out and always gets a strike
The trick for strikes is to hit right in between the center pin and the one next to it, slight angle, wipes em out

I think Arin is overthinking how he throws (too fast!) while Dan is throwing slow enough for the controller to pick up his form (which makes it think ah good perfect form!) and it gives him the strike.
Kinda wish they were playing online so we can see them panic with the timer and witness the insane amount of strikes everyone else gets but I don't think they'll get past round 1 that way.
I don't think I will ever get tired of Arin having to explain how to use a control pad to Dan.

The annoyed silence from Dan after Arin said “if you can win then you can win now” after begging to be done bowling was very palpable
Here's how bowling scoring works, if you're interested. I first learned this when I was in high school.
You get a point for each pin you knock over. If you get a spare you get 10 points plus then number of pins you knock over on your next throw. A Strike gets you ten points plus the number of pins you knock down in your next *2* throws.
So bowling a strike then rolling a gutter and then a spare (all ten pins on your second throw when you guttered your first throw) then 9 pins and a miss ( X | 0\ | 9 0 ) is worth 20 then 39 then 48 in those three innings. If instead you bowled a strike a strike then 9 and a miss (X | X | 9 0) is worth 29 then 48 then 57 in those same three innings.
Three strikes followed by a 6 pin hit and then 2 pins (X | X | X | 6 2 ) you get 30 points in the first inning, plus 26 to 56 points in the second, plus 18 to 74 in the third, plus 8 to 82. You really see how successive strike is massively powerful. A perfect game is ten strikes in a row plus 2 more "strikes" in the final frame granting you a score of 300. This is also why strikes and spare mean the score doesn't get calculated right a way. The game doesn't know how much it is worth yet, I could be worth ten if you gutter or 30 if you turkey.
In the final frame only the first set of 10 pins adds to your score, the other two sets are only there to determine what a Strike or spare is worth. So if you bowl a strike in the final frame, ten more pins come down, but the pins you hit ONLY add to the strike and do not count on their own. Getting a turkey in the final frame is technically worth less than anywhere else since the second and third strikes are only there to add to the previous strike and don't count by them selves.
How this makes sense!

The explanation I read for the last frame scoring was that strikes and spares don't double points, but I think your explanation makes way more sense.
I will say that getting a turkey is not worth less in the tenth frame as it could be the difference between you winning the match and you losing. Also, they’re called frames, not innings. 😊

Because it used to be that way on Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Nintendo likely changed it because back in the day tons of people ended up chucking their controllers at the TV as a result of accidentally letting go of the whole controller rather than just the trigger.

@@Mortimer107 I don’t agree the Mii designs are bad and the sports mates are nice looking, I mean they are not terrible but the Miis are way better imo, you could insert yourself into this games, if you put like 5 sports mates next to each other they look almost exactly the same.
I do kinda hate the new mii's they wouldn't be so bad if they had more options, but you cannot make them actually look anything like you anymore unless you have a very basic haircut with very little texture. as a person with extremely curly hair the lack of curly hair options on avatar builders is one of the things about video games that frustrates the shit out of me. So them replacing a system that had those options with one that doesn't does piss me off quite a bit not going to lie.
I liked the miis, they could be cute... and utterly terrifying you was part of their charm. Plus they have developed miis to being and looking better in games like Smash Bros, plus who can forget Matt the Boxing instructor, or when you throw the ball back and they all dramatically jump and spin in bowling.
You could absolutley make a mii out of any person and make it look exactly like them. Dan said that they're weird looking. That's the entire point of them, is to look reminiscent but discernable and recognize the fact that they're video game characters. Charm comes from creativity.

The sweat bacteria may be good for you, but the bacteria that gathers on your skin from going without showering is bad for your skin and causes MRSA. And they outnumber that other good bacteria in a way that makes their benefit ineffective. I mean think of it this way, the small area of your armpits are fighting against the surface area of rest of your body.
Take showers people. Staph infection sucks. Maybe not every day, depending on your activity levels.
Also, shower like a Roman. Use hot water to start and wash yourself. Turn it down to a luke warm to rinse off for a few minutes. The slowly turn the water to cold, and stand in that for a minute or two.
