I was playing survival mode today and I got attacked by a horde of super mutants. Just as they were getting the upper hand, one of my sentry bots running a supply line came through and obliterated them all for me. Bless you, Automatron :)
yeah in survival mode Automatron is a godsend as you can either mod Ada or Codworth or Curie if you have her. For me Codsworth plus sentry arm plus automatic lasers plus best armour equals the best alround robot you can have. If you want more details check out high vis harrys vids on each of the robots you can have.
As a side note to anyone who hasn't finished it yet, if you wear the Silver Shroud costume when you confront the Mechanist, the dialogue options change, as does the Mechanist's dialogue.
On a note for the perks, here are the max ranks you would need to build all of the robotic parts for your robot army. Armorer - Rank 4 Gun Nut - Rank 1 Blacksmith - Rank 3 Science! - Rank 4 Robotics Expert - Rank 2 Thought I'd list this out so people don't waste any perk points.
+Eurogamer I'd like to correct you on that Rogue Robot mission part. It would seem that if you happen to kill Mechanist, ADA takes the role of scanning for rogue robots instead.
The best perk is having Codsworth fully upgraded into a maxxed sentry death machine with a robobrain. Best companion now, ever. I pretty much dont need to do anything anymore. Full sentry supply chain plus maxxed Codsworth ensures I pretty much never die and always have insane backup.
A few things: 1: You'll need robotics expert and science perks (scrapper is also good for getting rarer materials) 2: you can kill the Mechanist and get the rogue robots quest from Ada 3: after you complete all the quests, you get the schematics for all robot parts
+Max Fenton Yes, all true. I did kill The Mechanist with one character, and it was so much nicer and faster to get the Rogue Robot quests from ADA, though Isabel is also a junk vendor with some good shipment items. Other than those corrections, the video is well researched.
+CEWIIH The Mechanist quests. After you confront the Mechanist, whatever the outcome you unlock all robot modifications to use on your own built bots with the workbench. However you still can't install the advanced mods without certain perks, unless you find them on a robot you kill.
I made very large use of Automatrons as the Minutemen's robotics brigade. Normally factory Protectrons (robots that are designed to defend industrial areas are sentry bots or for experiments they are anything) the Automatrons provide a better as guard for me since they don't require ammo they even fuck over enemies in high numbers. My Automatrons are all named after warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Mechanist Lair is used to store experimental Automatrons and incomplete Protectrons (naturally doesn't happen but if it does I sometimes forget about the half built robots)
Finishing the confrontation with the Mechanist actually unlocks all of the robot schematics for crafting, so no need to do the Rogue Robot quest for that particular reason. Also, if you tell the eyebot to look for crafting materials they only locate around 2-5 of that component making it only worth it for super rare components or rare ordinance as that returns more. Otherwise spot on video.
+Whyit1 I went with the brotherhood for a while and they told me to kill the railroad. Sadly I did it before the railroads first quest, so I don't even have the deliverer
+Christopher Brooke i went to the institue before the first quest of the railroad for some reason they hated me then and when i entered they always just told me to leave. so brotherhood gave me the mission to kill them so i did... and at bunker hill i was allied with them again cause i killed the courser ... but that didn't have much use cause well they were dead already
Lol I just turned Codsworth into an Assaultron. Its a bit werid have a womanly robot with a male English accent. Still worth it. Also turned Curie in to some badass Assaultron medic.
I,m about to start the game with all mods :D i know i bet you wish you could forget and do it all again!, any-who when you say it spawns randomly kappa do you mean in a different area or close by? its a newb question i know and i don't want to use a guide or something similar but i want to get the most out of my 1st play-through. Thanks
+Elliot Schofield Different area I've seen it spawn in two separate areas in a few play throughs. They've been generally in unmarked areas. First one I found was at a random boat dock and the second was near the racing track.
Assaultron torso and arms and at least one melee hand on a Mr. Handy thruster gives the bots a windmill attack that will quickly rend the health of anything down to nothing. And low-ish carry weight, but you can just tell them to pick stuff up like any other companion.
I like to build a Purified Water Farm at Sanctuary, and then set up three Stores: 1. Weapon Store 2. Armor Store 3. Trader This way, if you maximize your Purified water production, you can just take all of your water and trade it for Weapons and Armor which you can scrap for Screws, leather, adhesive and the like. You can also trade your water straight for Scrap, from the Trader Store. This way you can have all the scrap you need.
Sadly I immediately killed the railroad after finding them to go on with the brotherhood so I can't get the ballistic weave ability but modders have probably already made a mod for that if not get on that modders
I feel like the length of this DLC depends on how much you like customizing stuff. For 10 dollaras, I thought it was reasonable. Sure the story isn't the longest but IMO the customization and making robots makes up for the lacking story. Just my two cents tough. You do you boo boo
It's only worth using eyebots for mini nukes, missles, nuka grenades/mines and bottlecap mines imo. And it certainly isn't worth it sending them for resources as you just get a few of them whereas you can just buy shipments or find them elsewhere normally.I am really high leveled and i don't have any issues with materials anymore.
As nuke mines and grenades are some of the rarest explosives, I get my eyebrows to search for those. Seems like the only way to make more that a couple of each spawn in your playthrough.
I'm sure it was mentioned, but if you complete the DLC that unlocks all robot schematics, so no need to continue rogue robot missions, unless you want the parts. Even then I've rarely got the more interesting parts. I tend to mostly get the same ones over and over.
another perk of the rogue robot quest is that you can occasionally rescue settlers from it, allowing you to recruit them. On its own that doesn't sound like much, but there is a bug/glitch that lets you surpass your regular settler limit this way.
Only Automatron tip I have is never combine the sentry chest with a ton of unstable mods. Luckily I reverted the save, bot I made couldn't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag without self destructing after firing 2 rounds from its explosive ammo in guns.
+The Cynical Brony's Official RUclips Page yeah, I tried making this OP killing machine and this fucking robot seemed to self destruct every engagement we got into, it was pretty sad to watch.
I like how when he sends his eyebot out to search for missiles he gets 18 of the damn things but when I searched for ceramic, I had to fight through an enormous building of high rank gunners only to get 3 ceramic -_-
+DARK-EVIL-GODS21 From my understanding the amount you get is on a leveled list so the higher level you are the greater the chance it yields high amounts and also it depends on exactly what you are looking for and the rarity of that item. Resources tend to come in low amounts especially if they're rare so don't compare the amount of ammo you might get versus the amount of resources.
leveling up is easy even at level 130. build a cooker, a chem bench, gun workbench and an armour bench all beside each other. when you do a mission that includes clearing out a building , kill everything first then pick everything up that isnt bolted down and bring it back to your base. breakdown the guns you dont need for the components. Make whatever you can with the chem bench, upgrade any armor or guns that increases you attack and defence. Several perks will help you do this : a strength perk that lets you fast travel, a scrapper perk that lets you get extra stuff from scrapping armour and guns, also have provisioners going your settlements to your main base or at least connected to your main base. Sanctury hills connected to red rocket connected to the Mechanists lair. This will save you carrying everything or dumping some stuff so you can fast travel back to your base.
I had to move my eyebot pod, every time I would try to send it out ,it would fly into my yellow house in Sanctuary... I moved it and then it worked properly
Things I learned. Side with machinist if I have trouble finding components and build a massive eyebot farm in a random field for hard to find crafting ingredients. Good to know. Also there are very good mods for this dlc
I turned Ada into a sentry with a Gatling laser, flamethrower, gas launcher, and far man launcher. I'm surprised no one in the game called me a psycho.
It would have been cool if Isabel could become a companion and add a cool companion perk. That was a missed opportunity in my opinion. There are a number of good companion perks in the game, but also a bunch of terrible and/or useless ones. Adding another good companion perk seems like a no brainer for this DLC but they didn’t do it for some reason. Isabel just hangs around your gimped settlement and she does sell you circuitry, which is good. She gives you a pretty simplistic radiant quest that will take all of 10 seconds to complete. Such a waste of a character.
I finished every quest from Automatron DLC in 3,5h but there is a catch i made new character just for DLC so 0,5h for creation 2h to get lvl 15 and last hour for DLC.
You assign people or robots to shops, scrap stations, and plants in the workshop menu (where you build things in your base) you just click on the settler then click on the resource you want to assign them to.
I got it *only* for the ability to replace settlers with robots, the robots *will* take their jobs, the robots don't need to drink or eat, the robots don't rest, the robots don't whine about unreasonable work conditions, the robots are nothing but cold, infallible steel.
+Ashton Lnu I just loaded a save literally right before the spot where all of the factions split (Mass Fusion is at the point where you either choose to stay undercover/allied with the Institute or inform the Brotherhood, and Tactical Thinking can be started) but there's a bullshit glitch where even if you haven't actually started Tactical Thinking, P.A.M. acts like you have and won't speak to you, making it impossible to get Ballistic Weave if you haven't already. :(
You can make some truly broken builds with Automatron, I turned ADA into a death tornado with twin gatling lasers, tricked out armor, and even made her a near limitless pack mule on top of that by giving all her armor extra carrying capacity. It took all the challenge out of the game, she would literally rush into a huge group of enemies with both laser gatlings roaring and kill them all before I could even get a shot off.
'they are a good way to farm robot schematics' um, you know after you beat the final mission for automatron all schematics for robots are automatically unlocked anyways?
Does anyone know if there's a console command to get unlimited resources for robots building and weapons mods? TGM doesn't work for those, only for settlement building.
+teamhex You can add any number of items to your inventory. I think the code is player.additem [itemcode] [number]. Google hte item codes and you're set.
OR get the cheat room mod for pc or ps4 or xbox. It contains cheat rings that can max your carry weight and other stuff, and also contains boxes for all junk and scrap in quantities of 65,001
so i made a settlement populated by only robots and it was pretty fun and when the raiders came knocking sentry bot 1-20 would essentially instantly destroy them
you can use ballistic weave to upgrade, Maxson's battlecoat, and the mechanist armor, why cant you use ballistic weave on the minutemen outfit, colonial duster, or minutemen general uniform?
Just to clarify: eyebot pods are not at all worth the legwork. When you activate the pod (which is expensive to build and requires 6 power) the eyebot's mission generates and a container somewhere is stocked with random loot that includes what you're after. It's not noticeably more than you might otherwise find, though. So if you were only going to raid that raider rading camp IF it had circuitry for you to load, then the eyebot helps with that by keeping you from having to kill all those bad guys for loot that doesn't include 2 circuitry. But chances are you'll find more of what you're after by simply playing the game and showing up at random locations to kill things. The eyebot pods are totally ignorable and not even worth the space they take up in your settlement.
Speaking of robot settlements: Supply lines and farming - wokrs just fine. No farming animation (as Greygarden robots plays), but it's ignorable. Robots DO grow food, and that's all that needed. Trading - there are troubles. Robot accepts the job, goes to the shop, the shop produces happyness - that's ok. But I can't trade with robot, only common dialog is avaliable (take robot as companion instead of trading), wheather personality subroutine is engaged or not. Artillery - tried to used it 3 times. Range is ok, and no other artillery nearby. All 3 times radio confirmed fire mission, but only once one single shell was really fired. Two other fire missions ended without firing any shells at all. Such a way, there are also troubles with robot-manned artillery, so I'd rather thrust human settlers to provide fire support. Anyway, maybe it's just my troubles, I don't know...
Honestly robots are the perfect settlers because you can custom build them for specific jobs. Got a supply line robot? Make it fast and carry lots of stuff. Need guards? Make a kill bot
Hours to level up? I'm 85 and still level pretty quickly. Just make sure you get the party boy/girl perk for doubling the effects of alcohol and down Dirty Wastelanders with Idiot Savant perk maxed out. I've gotten two levels from one dungeon even after 60. All it takes is popping the kill exp multiplier and then clearing a room with a legendary or two in it.
Have your main base populated with just robots/cows/cats/dogmeat. They don't steal your armor. I kept one human until he took all of my legendary miniguns out of my inventory. Away he went.
I just picked this one because it mentioned robots. They don't gripe, they're metal- ergo inherently tougher, and of course they have brutal weapons. Oh and scoutbots? Bonus!
Man if we can customize those eyebot pods much like mr some mr handy they could've just deliver the requested items back to the base once they found it
I turned Codsworth into a glorious loveable tank of Assaultron legs, Sentry torso & arms, and Robobrain head. They have a hammersaw right arm, gatling laser left. They have full hydraulic armor except for their head and their left arm, which has voltaic armor to increase their gatling laser damage. I gave them a turtle helm for their head simply because I don't like the look of the brain. They had an Assaultron head laser, but the accuracy is awful, so I made the hard decision to go for the Robobrain head for the accuracy. They also got two bomb launchers on their back, I almost want to give them a mini nule launcher but based on his habit of firing bombs close to me indoors I deem this a bad idea. I kind of want the drill for the Big Daddy look, along with one Assaultron arm for extra damage, but I'm a bit of a hoarder and I need that carry weight, and I like symmetry.
I've been playing on ps5. Once I made 5 robots my game started crashing. Is that likely the bug. To many robots. Should I scale back an hopefully rescue my save
Problems with this video: Defeating the Mechanist unlocks all robot mods. And robots assigned to perform tasks in a settlement will unassign themselves after the Sole Survivor leaves for a time. With the exception of supply line provisioner
i am with the brotherhood of steel and killed the rail road and had the ending but can i still get the ballistic armor upgrade? or i have to create another person
if you do enough railroad missions tinker tom randomly gives it to you no dialouge he just goes up to you talks to you theres no dialouge options it just random
How much Robots can you build, can you name them, is the Tesla Gun good, are there a lot of building options, can you give orders to the robots like real companions and do you liked the Automatron DLC ?
Answering your questions, you can build infinite robot followers whom you can name and also command like other followers, the tesla rifle is good if you have the charging barrel and have invested in rifleman (with the T-60 tesla armor I get it to around 290 energy damage also lvl 5 rifleman: warning it is only short to medium range), there are not many building options added by the dlc but it wasn't focused on settlement building, and I like the dlc because the robotic followers are much better than the normal ones.

Welp no more ballistic weave for us
I just downloaded a materials mod, it give you 60K of each building item. now I have 14 robots is sanctuary along with minutemen and all companions
Great vid low spoiler count and great tips to get the most out of the dlc
liked sub-ce'd thanks
You can make some truly broken builds with Automatron, I turned ADA into a death tornado with twin gatling lasers, tricked out armor, and even made her a near limitless pack mule on top of that by giving all her armor extra carrying capacity. It took all the challenge out of the game, she would literally rush into a huge group of enemies with both laser gatlings roaring and kill them all before I could even get a shot off.
'they are a good way to farm robot schematics'
um, you know after you beat the final mission for automatron all schematics for robots are automatically unlocked anyways?
Also make sure to transfer at various robot workbenches in the mechanist lair
Does anyone know if there's a console command to get unlimited resources for robots building and weapons mods? TGM doesn't work for those, only for settlement building.
+teamhex You can add any number of items to your inventory. I think the code is player.additem [itemcode] [number]. Google hte item codes and you're set.
teamhex mabe you use a resource glitch
OR get the cheat room mod for pc or ps4 or xbox. It contains cheat rings that can max your carry weight and other stuff, and also contains boxes for all junk and scrap in quantities of 65,001
How do you run out of ceramic? coffee mugs are every where and next to nothing. I think I currently have about 3,000 mugs. between all my settlements.
+Trey Patch - Probably built a lot of power connections if I had to guess.
+Trey Patch
You can go to this graveyard and there's flower vases all over the place with 2-3 ceramic each
+Trey Patch You! Hey, you! Yeah, you! Got any mugs?
How to upgrade mehanich armor if you kill Railroad?
I wonder if I can still do this even though I destroy the institute and the railroad.
so i made a settlement populated by only robots and it was pretty fun and when the raiders came knocking sentry bot 1-20 would essentially instantly destroy them
you can use ballistic weave to upgrade, Maxson's battlecoat, and the mechanist armor, why cant you use ballistic weave on the minutemen outfit, colonial duster, or minutemen general uniform?
redninja 64 You can.
nooo you can use it on the battlecoat too?? I really wish I helped the railroad now. :(
Just to clarify: eyebot pods are not at all worth the legwork.
Speaking of robot settlements:
Supply lines and farming - wokrs just fine.
I like making robot provisioners since they suck as settlers and hurt your overall happiness.
did not know about the eyebot searching, good info. thanks!
Honestly robots are the perfect settlers because you can custom build them for specific jobs. Got a supply line robot? Make it fast and carry lots of stuff. Need guards? Make a kill bot
How do you build the machines with buttons
AWWW ROBOT SETTLEMETNS DIDNT THINK OF THAT!! THANKS DAWG
Also, if you kill the mechanist, ADA will give you the rogue robot missions.
I just got this DLC yesterday and read rocket is filled with robots I’ll never use. More defense now I guess.
I just picked this one because it mentioned robots.
They don't gripe, they're metal- ergo inherently tougher, and of course they have brutal weapons.
Oh and scoutbots? Bonus!
you get all robot mods for your robot work bench when you complete the main story of the automatron dlc
Bro i have nearly 1000 hours in game, and i had no idea about the eyebot pods until now. Thanks!
Love this DLC
already emptied out the railroad guess no ballistic weave for me
Awesome DLC !
The volatile frame armor actualy has the highest carry weight actually
I've been playing on ps5. Once I made 5 robots my game started crashing. Is that likely the bug. To many robots. Should I scale back an hopefully rescue my save
Problems with this video: Defeating the Mechanist unlocks all robot mods. And robots assigned to perform tasks in a settlement will unassign themselves after the Sole Survivor leaves for a time. With the exception of supply line provisioner
he sounds like Richard hammond
i am with the brotherhood of steel and killed the rail road and had the ending but can i still get the ballistic armor upgrade? or i have to create another person
if you do enough railroad missions tinker tom randomly gives it to you no dialouge he just goes up to you talks to you theres no dialouge options it just random
@@AAARTEMISSS644 he killed the railroad tho
damn i never knew how legit the eyebot pods can be, about to make some in my modded playthrough later tonight 😂
Is there a way to get more rogue robot missions if you kill the mechanist?
Ada
+HowieQuickSticks Ada
Ada
+man you dont know Ada
I cant assign a robot to a farm or anything like that even in an empty settlement
Who's behind this charming posh voice?
That first boss in the DLC, I took him out instantly with vats and my 5 crank laser
thought all the mods are unlocked after dealing with the mechanist.
600 hours and I never knew robots can actually tasked to do settlement chores .__.)
Are you kidding me?! i sided with the institute and didnt do any missions for BoS or railroad
I killed the railroad before I got ballistic weave. Any other way to get it?
Mods or console commands
