Videos like this kill me. Home boy keeps talking about how this setup just "works" for him when it's obvious that this rig is pre-fab, factory new and has never been on the road before. He didn't build it, hasn't used it, but acts like he lives in it. Also guessing the only time he spends mountain biking is on that plush (also probably brand new) e-bike. So-Cal trustafarian.
I think he's got close to 20k miles on this setup if I recall, so it's definitely been on the road for a while. When referring to the camper layout and how it works for him, it's helpful to hear the feedback. New FWC owners often find it hard to decide between front dinette vs side dinette and it's nice to see there's not a regret with that layout. I do see owners selling the side dinette to go with front however more often. nbg just thought I'd share in case anyone else was curious.
Love the Rig and the set-up! I have almost the exact same style camper except I chose the Camp X. For the 2022 AEV… Have the same Rigd tire carrier and folding tray…minus the bike rack. Love the seat delete and looking at that addition next. These AEV Ram’s are the best platform for a complete comfortable set-up! Thank you for sharing, Hope to see to at Overland Expo West. Cheers
You say that the thermal packs don't do anything. We've been traveling for over a year and a half in our hawk four wheel camper and yes the thermal packs aren't that great but they sure do make a difference. But four wheel camper did was not really finish the thought process on making them work better. Like they just droop at the ends. We put velcro on the ends to hold them up. We are currently designing a new insulated thermal pack for our camper.
We added some Reflectix in between the thermal pack and the popup and it helps a bit. It also acts mostly as a blackout layer and does offer some relief from direct son. Would love to see that insulated thermal pack you have in mind!
@@4x4ready it's light weight sleeping bag material. Put a 2"x 4" piece of Velcro in the front and back on the sides of the canvas pop up and that we'll help hold the thermo packs up. I don't know what fwc was is thinking with letting the ends just hang down.
An eMtb certainly won't "destroy" the 1up rack. I have over 10,000 miles all over the country with nothing but an eMtb on it and never had one issue. 🤷
Why not use a mount that swings the bikes up onto the roof during the night? A solid locking point would make me feel safer than if they were loose on the back.
FWC makes decent campers (not perfect), but they've gotten stupidly overpriced in recent years, especially including the updated options they've recently added, which should be standard equipment. A well equipped Hawk with lithium, RedArc power system, solar, Truma heater and other necessary options now costs over $60k which is just ridiculous. I can't imagine who is paying these absurd prices.
Love it. My only negative comment is why would anyone spend that kind of money for a full sized camper and its anything less than an 8 foot box. They just cost too much money. I have an 8 foot grandby for my 8 foot bed, F250 diesel. I can't image being in anything smaller, its damn small, but I love it, they are bitchen campers. But like 6 foot, trust me , I have had 4 people in mine and it was packed but doable, 6 foot, not going to happen. 35k for a 6 foot camper is insane. Just saying. Otherwise a bad ass set up
Everyone has different needs. Obviously that truck does not come with an 8 ft bed just like a Power Wagon. FWC has one of the best products out there. Now that wouldn't work for me either because I'm a full timer in Capri Camper that is longer than my 6'7" Silverado bed.
I specifically wanted the shorter wheelbase 6.4ft bed. Being used to a wedge camper it's plenty of room still even 1 year later. It depends what you do with the truck to. I mean why not go 40ft trailer if space is only concern. For me this truck is very easy to drive, agile and the camper flexes with the bed when it's articulated. For each use case just find the best setup you need. Some people never leave pavement and some are fitting it on tight trails where a long bed wouldn't work.
молодцы американцы, а в России одна нищита живет и выбраться мы уже не сможем. жаль, осознавать это еще больнее, чем жить в самой богатой ресурсами стране и нищими людьми.
So much “sick” and “rad” stuff. Wondering when guys starting talking like vapid sorority chicks…”like,” and everything is a question? You know? I have the lights on the front? It just works for me? 😖
This made for a great drinking game. Every "Rad" - take a shot.
🤣🤣🤣
If it was "like" you'd be in the hospital..
The vocabulary of a 14 year old.

You know someone is a legit outdoors person when they have a beanie on and a coffee cup in their hand
Coffee not allowed while making a video..?
I love your setup!!! I have a question. How does the indoor shower drain?? Thanks!!!

Maybe the issues was that it was 2 and they were doing a little bit of off roading

Coming from my Tacoma wedge camper I think my 6.4ft bed FWC is the taj mahal.
