    I was very pleased to see that the pads are no longer sticky ones, it's so easy to change pads with the new version & also very easy to make your own pads too.

    What angle grinder speed setting should be used for sanding wood bowl or similar projects?
    Is it ok to use a fixed speed Bosch that has max rpm of 11,000 rpm?

      Hi Paul, the Contour Sander is rated up to 12,000 RPM. Check out this video for a bit more detail on how it works ruclips.net/video/VWJNj6VNQjQ/видео.html

    Id like to buy the contour sander attachment but I can only find them with a bolt hole in the middle of the pad for securing the sanding disks and cannot find any for adhesive sand paper discs without the hole in the center. With the hole/bolt in the center it would gouge the would when sanding in a flat position because the bolt protudes out farther than the sand paper. Please advise...

    How long do the discs stand while sanding? For example the small bowl at 1:30, how many pads do you need to finish the bowl?

      +CarlosGlatzos976 We went through only 1 sanding disk for this project :)

    The tool I was looking for, so I thought.. Not a Velcro backing?? That kills it for me, I need to switch sandpapers OFTEN. :/

      The reason we don’t use Velcro is that doesn’t work in our application. Our orbit is too small and too a high frequency causing the Velcro to stall while the fibres flex. This destroys the Velcro very rapidly. We found the adhesive backed discs lasted longer, transferred
      the sanding action much better and adhered better to the rubber pad when it flexed in tight contours. The rubber pad also contains a central flange that can be used to prevent sandpaper slipping off during severe flexing and can be used to mount any type of disc as long as you cut a small cross or punch a hole in the centre.

      Josef Roesler I've answered this above but it disappears. I understand that people like and are used to hook & loop (Velcro is a brand name) but please see the following.

      Kevin Inkster Wow, only 5 months to answer a question...I guess the glue discs are great for your sales...but that makes them a one time use item. Every time you change grit, you throw a disc away? Maybe sandpaper's cheap in Australia? You didn't address this when you answered Wouter d.B. below.

    How much rpm your tool have?

    • @Kevininkster
      @Kevininkster 9 лет назад

      LiPe VoLcOm Smaller grinders typically have 10,000 to 12,000 rpm.

    • @lipevolcom2
      @lipevolcom2 9 лет назад

      He mention that it don't spin but it looks to me that spins! Usually a 7inch disc with a 6000rpm already burns the wood very quickly ! I guess his grinder does the full speed as a normal grinder without variable speeds but the shaft slips so the disc isn't totally fixed to lower the speed and not burn the wood!

    • @Kevininkster
      @Kevininkster 9 лет назад +1

      LiPe VoLcOm That's correct. It looks like its spinning but in fact it stops spinning or even moves in the reverse direction depending on how hard you push. This is the random action and it will not burn the wood or dig in at the edges.

    • @lipevolcom2
      @lipevolcom2 9 лет назад

      Then I think I got it ! Maybe a little flex steel cable from the motor shaft hitting on a fixed out of angle slot in the disc! I'm a correct?
