Remember to use GPT instead of MBR on new ssd as UEFI doesn't support MBR in most cases. If you choose MBR, OS will boot using legacy bios which is unsecured
What is GPT UEFI and MBR?
@@pranavjuneja GPT - Guid Partition Table - is a form of partition table which can support disk size of more than 2tb. It is considered superior to MBR ( Master boot record) which is another form of partition table.
UEFI - Unified extensible firmware Interface. It is a software ( kind of an OS itself) which is used to boot your main OS ( eg windows) it supports more features and security then the traditional legacy BIOS

For all those who are confused, lemme clear your doubt... You have to go to system information and then check if your BIOS Mode is "Legacy" Then select MBR, and if your BIOS Mode is "UEFI" then select GPT, coz Legacy mode Doesn't Supports GPT.

Hi..nice video. I bought a new laptop and inserted a kingston m.2 nvme 250gb ssd. I have cloned my existing windows 10 to new SSD. Due to bitlocker, my hard disc was formatted. While booting there is no single drive showing to process for windows installation. new SSD and hard disk were not deteted. can you please help me

But if we migrate only the system files,not whole disk... Will the old SSD(or HDD) be detected as normal storage space with all the previous partitions & data except for OS data? And also,what if there's separate Recovery partition in old SSD(or HDD)... That will also be moved to New SSD or we'd have to use it separately if the need occurs to do system recovery?

Good video but I suggest GPT instead of MBR for initializing SSD. MBR is quite old and suitable for 32-bit OS only.

Always go for a fresh install of Windows while replacing HDD with SSD. Use that HDD as external drive and access the files using an enclosure or SATA to USB cable.

Hello bro, after completing the migrating thing with data to 512 GB, can I swap the HDs places (like in 512GB to 248GB and vice versa). Does the reading of HD happens as usually or the place of installation matters (like we are placing it in the dvd basket).

I have a question tho:
I have a 1TB HDD in my laptop and I want to replace it with a 240GB SSD and use the HDD in caddy because I heard that the first data port that the HDD is connected to is faster than the DVD SATA port so the SSD should be placed there with the OS. Is it true? or can I just use the SSD with OS in the caddy?
Anyway, to do this, I'm thinking to place the SSD in the caddy first, migrating the OS, and then swapping their places meaning I will then place SSD in the original HDD place and put the HDD in the caddy.
Is this method correct? and do I need to set boot priority BEFORE or AFTER swapping their places?
I was planning on doing the same upgrade process on my laptop.
And yes, using the SSD on the original HDD slot instead of the optical drive slot will give better performance. The optical drive slot uses SATA 2 which is much slower than the SATA 3 that is used by the SSD.
It is generally recommended to change the boot priority after the swap, so that you can confirm that both the SSD and HDD are being properly detected by the system after the swap. If everything is fine, you can change the boot priority after that.
I also have the same question...... does window run if we swap HDD with SSD after installation. Have you tried?
@@cruderhythm2155 Yes Windows will run provided there is atleast one drive connected to the PC or laptop in any slot (can even be an USB drive) that has Windows installed on it.

While migrating OS, will the whole HDD be copied with all the files like videos, photos that are not stored in C: partition or just the C drive?

I think Aomei backupper is better, it can even create bootable disk and get to WinPE to boot error computer.

You can format drive
Change the boot setting in bios hdd to sdd then freshly installed new windows .

I am trying to replace my existing HDD with a 240 GB SSD. I have installed SSD inside the laptop and the converted HDD as an external hard drive.
After that, when I am trying to boot through an external HDD so that I can clone the original windows 10 to the installed SSD, the laptop is not detecting neither internal SSD nor external HDD.
How should I do it?

first put ur ssd in caddy and in cd bay and keep hdd wer it is. then it will detect the ssd in this pc - manage. after that use software and continue
Brooo how will it detect ur OS if it's in another location? Go to bios and try to see if it can detect the hdd

@@honey78665 I took my laptop to the Lenovo service center. They uploaded new windows in the SSD and replaced it with the old HDD. After that, it worked fine. With new windows 10, initially, I faced issues with a few drivers but updating drivers worked and now my laptop is working fine and smooth.

1. After Cloning HDD to SSD Only C-drive Gets Cloned or Full HDD Gets Cloned?. As My Laptop Has 1Tb HDD And Much IMP Data in other 2 Logical Drives.
2. in this Video you Showed that Disc Zero i.e. Old Disc needs to Be Allocate again that means Logical Drives Present in HDD Except Old C-Drive May Get Deleted and data on that Drives also gone..??

For example: in your case..you can assign the old SSD of 240 gb as a new drive to save random stuff. How can we do the same with the hdd once the cloning of windows is completed from hdd to new SSD. Hope you got my question.
Bro when you clone your old hdd files to new ssd and boot with ssd then go to disk management old hdd will be available there then select it delete it ,it will be unallocated and then assing it a drivw letter and create a new volume to use your hdd.

This was a great guide bro. I did everything you said and clonned my Hdd to ssd. But after installing ssd the computer started to heat more than when it was on HDD. I even reduced the processor usage to 99% and 90% also.
But still it heats and fan keep running at high speed. I even check blockage of fan, but everything is clean.
Do you have any suggestions?

you should not have cloned it as Ssd makes it file lighter whereas hdd do it according to it's properties.

Yes, since the OS is loading from the ssd every time and ssd is the boot drive , you can delete os from hdd

Sir, I have HP Pavillion 15 - n260Tx 2014 model, and now it's health is like heart patient having in icu, no response after powering on till taking 1 or 2 hours. I hope you got my point, I need to upgrade but I am not able to get it's proper specifications like, whether it is upgradable with ram or SSD/HDD but how much maximum value. So I had a 300GB system drive HDD of which 150GB was used.. while cloning the same to my 450GB SSD I selected all the SSD volume. Later when I tried to make a partition, I could only get a partition of 150GB out of the 450GB. Is there any way I can create a partition out of the cloned 300GB SSD?
