I am a Singaporean but have been staying overseas for many years. Most of the places in the videos are places that I have never been to. And it is great watching them. Good job Richard!
As a Singaporean, I really enjoy watching your videos. It brings out the other side of Spore. Which sometimes, we local don't even know about. And yes, I'm proud to say though we are small n dense, we do have many green spaces. Thank you for your videos ☺️
Surprisingly interesting hike…the next time I am in Singapore I will give this walk a try…I suppose you did this during a dry season…I wouldn’t want to do this if there was any chance of running into an afternoon monsoon shower
Loving the videos Richard. Would love to do more hiking when I visit Singapore but it’s always sooooo hot. A walk around the botanic gardens is about all I can manage before dehydration sets in
do not worry I myself trek along the bicycle trail too and in the early night time but there will be a few nortunal animals which will be crossing your path too as for me I came across to my suprised a big monitor lizard, thinking it was a python...so but if possible if you were to trespass just dont record it here...i do my trekking over without any recording and its all abuot nature and myself throughout the forest and trails..but I did hear cyclist too but they just pass by me and thats it...and continued to dairy farm park sheltered.
Singapore in January when it's not as humid was good for me . I'm going to the treetop next time i'm there but not a 20k walk like you did , good job :-)
After watching this video, I complete same trial no the next very day, it was just awesome. Walked even under rain. Unlucky tree top is closed for maintenance.Richard keep hiking... 🙏
Watching this in 2021 and finally found out when your video titlecard sequence was filmed! 10:33 . New to the channel but hope you are safe and doing well in Taiwan!
My mates and I often run the trails. Enjoy your videos very much. If you want a 30 km start at Zoo / Trail 15 / Bukit Timah / RR road / Macrtichie out at Venus up to Lower then Upper Pieice Reservoir. There is a tral called the woodcutters trail that starts at upper pierce and connects back to pipe trail..eventuallly !
u should go n walk side by side the quarry too its amazing but be careful of the thick branches coming out from the caves and trees below the quarry....
My longest walk was from Mandai Lake Road to Macritchie Park. I took the Gangsa Trail to Chestnut Park. From there made my way to Zhenghua and picked up the pipeline trail to Rifle Range Road, through the forest, and you know the rest. All in all about 20 kilometers by my partner's ancient GPS thingy.
Fortunate it wasn't pouring. With all the trees around panoramic views are limited but micros are interesting. That ant exodus was awesome - wonder about the dynamics of the stationary islands. With it's small area Singapore is like an experimental hot house where civilisation is never too far away.
Watching your videos feels like walking into an oasis of serenity amidst the bustling city. Please do a video on coast-to-coast (C2C) trail. A 36 km trail that spans across Singapore, stretching across nature areas, parks and park connectors from Jurong Lake Gardens in the west to Coney Island Park in the northeast. Have a great day, Cheers!
Haha!! Great sense of humour. I enjoyed the whole video. Next time, you come and shoot a video at Bt Batok Nature Park ok? There's a trail that can lead you to the WWII memorial, pretty simple trails. If you survive Bt Timah hill, this is nothing but you get some good views here too.
Great video with a very special passages. I went to Singapore many times, then i worked there, but i never reached a few places showed in your video. Well done.
I watched and rewatched this green video and i enjoyed it everytime, i was wondering if you will remake this video in another direction like clockwise anti clockwise to tweak some sceneries for another beautiful angle. I hope you could. Anyway, thanks again and looking forward to see tomorrows video release ! Cheerio!👍😁⛰🌏
Thanks for the great video. I thoroughly enjoyed it cos I've hiked through a great part of those places.. but took us several separate trips. I've hiked up those few hundred steps up to Bt Timah peak and I don't think we will want to do that again. BTW, my sister and I are both in our sixties and we took up hiking a few years now. Thanks for showing us certain parts of Singapore that we may never visit. Keep it up.
@@AsiaHikelopedia hiked to it in 2012 & 2013, difficult to access, but didn't know it was restricted access. Saw other groups visiting it, there are old pumphouses in that area too
I remember when I reached that summit, I jokingly posted on Instagram about climbing Singapore's tallest peak - friends back in Australia not familiar with the geography were impressed until I admitted just how (not) high that towering pinnacle truly was 😂
The bridges you see at the 14.30 mark are not 'colonial' as you put it. There're built by the Japanese as the path you were on leads to the Japanese Shinto Shrine that's been destroyed by the surrendering Japanese administration at the end of WW2 to prevent desecration. Some remnants of that shrine still remains but are now covered with thick undergrowth.
The treetop walk is close for now. You can still go to the macritchie reservoir and the trail. Here is the link from the local park authority for updates www.nparks.gov.sg/gardens-parks-and-nature/parks-and-nature-reserves/central-catchment-nature-reserve/treetop-walk
This guy teaches us more about singapore than we even know about
Keep it up. We really like your video. It is calming, and not pretentious
Thank you! Will do!

can tresspass when no one is around and after hours, like after 7pm, I did do that from 6.30pm upwards, just be careful on the tracks though...

At Bukit Timah hill you can see the African tulip
The waterfall at Kota Tinggi is worth exploring
Nice drone aerial view.

Fantastic videos. It’s pronounced “boo kit” btw
Are we allowed to fish there?
my knees hurt just from watching this
Intro is almost looking towards the site of the old WW2 Syonan Jinja shrine ruins . Will you visit that in a future video?

A saw a (the?) giant turtle there too. It was a highlight of my trip.
This guy hike before most Singaporean even called them self "hikers". Forest is the new orchard.
At the rate u r going, u probably going to cover the whole country in less than 6 months 🙂
What's name here?
👍👍👍
Thankfully he wasn't riding mrt too late
nice vid
Thanks!
hi dude, why r u wearing a POLO TEE for a hike ?
What should I be wearing?
@@AsiaHikelopedia a fitness singlet or something for more heat to get out of the shirt. It also dries easily. SG is hot and humid as FUCK
I wear more because I burn easily and don't like sunscreen. Would rather sweat than get burnt!
6am already got people in train??
Always full!
Do people have to pay some fee for entering nature reserve ??
No. It's free.

hi Richard must be very tiring...huh?😅😅
Yes. It was hot that day.

Is it always so dang hot there?
Most of the year, yes.
It does get a few degrees cooler during monsoon.
hi I've been to bukit summit, how to reach the top tree walk?
