USMC infantry officer here (2011-2020). Really liked y’all’s reaction overall and when you commented “what if you need to shit/dookie”, it made me actually start laughing. Some of the funniest/grossest moments have happened because yeah, when you cram hundreds/thousands of dudes together into tight spaces on a set mission where you can’t say “hey time out, I need to take a shit”…I remember during one live fire training exercise, one of the Marines in our XO’s vehicle got the bubble gut and was trying to crap into an empty MRE box while the vehicle was moving over rough terrain; he got about 90% into the box but then the other 10% got on our FO’s assault pack, he was so pissed haha

The last member of Easy Company died in 2022. One helluva a life. I know how I felt about my fellow soldiers who served in Vietnam when I was in. These guys saw appreciation from Veterans all over.
One of the all time best series! I appreciate the level of attention you give this… it’s respectful and shows that you’re invested. My great uncle was in the 82nd Airborne (504th), he was shot and killed as he parachuted into Italy in Dec 1943. RIP to all the heroes! 🇺🇸
Definitely has been an amazing series so far! It’s only right that we give our full attention to the shows/movies we watch. We thank him for his service & RIP💙🙏🏾
Such a fantastic opening episode to a series. The real guys at the start, the training story, seeing the bonds form, the culmination of those bonds solidifying at the end, and the brief glipse of the awe inspiring scale of that Dday invasion. Some numbers: 150,000 troops landed in france by sea and air on D day, over a million were grouped in England prior, and would land in the coming days. over 6000 ships across the allied navies set sail from england to france. 50,000 vehicles were shipped to be surfaced on the beaches, 11,000 planes fought, or delivered troops the night before or on the day. 11,000 men died on the allied side in that one day. 13000 on the Axis side approximately. That was just day 1, in europe. Not long after the allies deploy across Africa and Asia, largely with the US forces coming to relieve the last holdouts of the british across their crumbling empire, but many nations formed the allies across the world. The war went from 1939 to 1945. D day was June 6th 1944, and the surrender of the german army came on May 8th 1945. The others a bit later with the bombs in japan. A time of heroes against true evil, and we see that in the journey.
You'd be suprised how easily it is to remember names. I used to have the names, birthdays and social security numbers of all 130 guys in my company memorized. 15:00
Glad you guys are watching this series. Yes that was Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). The people in the army are separated by groups. It starts with a single soldier, then a squad is made up of several soldiers, a platoon is 3-5 squads, a company is 3-5 platoons, a battalion is 3-5 companies, regiment is 3-5 battalions, 3 regiments make up a division, 2+ divisions is a corps. a kind of fun story to watch if you are interested in WW2 is the story of Jake McNiece told by The Fat Electrician. The dudes nickname was McNasty, so you know its a good story.
Interesting fact about Winters that gives a big idea as to why he was such a good leader...he enlisted in August of 1941 and completed training as an enlisted man, then he remained at the camp where he trained to help train other men after him. He was selected for Officer Candidate School in April 1942, and after he finished that training and became an officer in July 1942 he volunteered for the Airborne...so when we see him as a Platoon Leader in Easy, that is his third set of training that Winters is undergoing.

Great reaction! The sacrifices of WW2 veterans must not be forgotten. They grew up dirt poor and starving during The Great Depression, then as soon as they turned 18 they volunteered for war. That's why they're called the "Greatest Generation". My grandpa served in the U.S. Navy during WW2 and Korea....the stories he told....
Good reaction, gentlemen. Enjoyed it a lot. You saw the situation better than others I've watched and even offered some contrasting views. Good on you. Looking forward to watching more reactions to this series with you.

@25:30 Someone wrote to another soldier in Bill Guarnere's platoon and told them Guarnere's brother was killed in combat in Italy. Guarnere took that person's jacket by accident when he went to go see the movie and then, when he read the other person's letter, found out about his own brother being killed. It wasn't completely clear the way they filmed it.
I am so glad you decided to watch this! It's easily one of the best historical depictions of WWII. Almost entirely based on real people and events, this series avoids all the tropes and traps other war movies fall into.
I will be waiting anxiously for the subsequent reactions to come out. I've watched and liked many of your videos, but now I am subscribing to tune in to future reactions. Keep it up, gentlemen!
Thank you for doing this show. These men need to be remembered, we wouldnt be here without them. As someones whos been to dozens of Military funerals, i deeply appreciate you guys watching this🙏

Great video. Thanks for the great reaction. As the saying goes, "We learn from history, so we have a better chance to not repeat it." That's why the older I've gotten the more I appreciate history, and appreciate what generations like the WWII generations did to make our lives better today - most of us would not be here today, if it wasn't for them.
We appreciate you & thank you for the support! Learning from the past is very important as it can give us hindsight which can help us in the future as we go through life. Seeing what they went through was hard to watch but also should be watched!
This show is INSANE my guys. Like EASY top 5 shows ever made, no question. Can't wait to watch it with you guys. Easy company is legendary. These dudes were all straight badasses doing some unreal stuff.
An excellent show, i was a paratrooper in the army and when i graduated jump school it happened to be on a day when the base was celebrating the 555th parachute infantry regiment. One of the surviving members pinned my jump wings on, in 2006. The triple nickle was the only all African American paratrooper regiment in WW2.
Great reaction, guys. It's always good to see people who want to learn about the price paid by our greatest generation to protect the freedoms we enjoy. Great insights, too. I subscribed so I can enjoy the journey with you. CURRAHEE!!
What impresses me with this series, is how closely they tried to stick to the truth/facts. Most films that are based on true events are good to be 11-15% in accuracy...this one (due to the fact that there were still living veterans of Easy at the time to cooperate with) worked a lot hard to be as close as possible, within reason. I believe this is why so many are drawn to it, becuase it didn't try to add to or deviate from the actual battles, actual events, and actual dialogue. Plus, the cinematography makes you feel as if you are right along with the men of Easy. Thank you both for taking the time to react to this series, and for being willing to share that with the world.
From what we have watched so far (on Ep 6), we can agree w/ you about feeling as if we were there. From the opening scenes of having the veterans speak, gets you invested into the show while also being able to pay respects to them! Can’t wait to see where it takes us & thank you for supporting us💙🙏🏾
22:53 back then, if you wanted to ship someone a firearm overseas to use, you could do that. In this case, Talbert got a Colt New Service revolver from his town’s Chief of Police. The same worked the other way around as well. If you happened to capture an enemy pistol or rifle, you could ship back home to keep. I actually own a battlefield pick up Japanese rifle from WWII, thing hasn’t had it’s internals cleaned since the 1940s.
This is by far the greatest show ever aired. It was perfect from start to finish. I envy you guys for being able to watch it for the first time. Enjoy!!!
It would be really cool if you could react to Masters of the Air, showing now on Apple+, at the same time, at least for the last three chapters of Masters, which premieres tonight. You will appreciate those fliers.
You guys are in for a roller coaster ride of emotions. Last week I finished watching Haylo & KIss react to this series. Now, I'm excited to watch Da Kids react to it. I didn't get to see this when it first aired on HBO, "I didn't have cable". (If you know, you know.) Anyway, I have seen the series multiple times since and I have watched several reactors. As a retired Air Force Veteran I understand the Brotherhood aspect of the Men, fortunately, I never had to experience the emotional aspect these Brotherhood of Men did.
We have been in for a roller coaster being on ep 6 (watching that tonight) I (swizz) am subbed to Haylo & Kiss on YT on my acct & haven’t watched any reactions yet but will once we are done reacting to the whole series! We both played sports & collegiate sports so we understand that brotherhood as well going through that trauma bonding together through workouts, losses, etc (obv this is on a whole other level)! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE💙🙏🏾
@DaKidsReact thank you. Believe me, it was a pleasure to serve. Not all of the time, most of the time. I got to live in England for nine years and Germany for three years, consecutively, so that was nice.
Guys, remember everything you're watching is not a story, it is a historical fact. If you watch the documentaries about Easy company, you'll see that, also the biographies of lieutenant Winters and such. Incredible respect for these men.
Sobel was in the National Guard before the US got into WW2, and he had years of experience. He was a brutal trainer, and some of Easy Company men gave him credit for preparing them for combat, but he wasn't a good leader, and he was not cut out for combat.
Christianson, the one who drank all his water from his canteen when they were told not to was played by Michael Fassbender before he really made it big in Hollywood with x men etc.
If you're going all the way with this...be prepared to grow, laugh, learn and suffer with these characters. The first episode is in some ways my favorite, if only for the innocence and the fact that I know what lies ahead for these men. This was when their biggest threats were "Army noodles with ketchup." I love the power move Winters makes by literally grabbing the pen out of Sobel's hand while he was abusing his power...it's brilliant, and a true story. "Jumping into Band of Brothers..." That's funny. It's a 12 hour Saving Private Ryan in quality...CURRAHEE! ♠
Your thoughts about the danger of riding an airplane into combat are insightful. Even worse, I believe, was riding in a glider pulled behind an airplane before it is released to 'glide' to the ground. Lots of the gliders had bad landings, and Walter Cronkite, later a famous news broadcaster on TV, rode into WW2 on a glider himself. He said riding inside a glider was like riding inside a snare drum - The glider was a box covered in cloth-even less protection than an airplane.
We appreciate that & we feel those are things that are lost when thinking of war, the plane ride, jumping out, the landing in the dark, the emotions & nerves before even getting on the plane!
Currahee is 3 miles up and 3 miles down. Once you reach the top, the hard part is not necessarily over as the road to the top is up and down the whole way. Even on the 3 miles down there are uphill sections.
As a Navy veteran, I appreciate your respect for those that served. Sometimes these guys were killed before they jumped (anti-aircraft flak and bullets, plane exploding or crashing).
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE💙 We talked about this in our reactions to later episodes & it’s was sad to see first hand watching. It’s a sad situation overall to be put in & then also to see it happening.
32:10 Sobel did jump on D-Day and Market Garden but not with Easy. From what I've read, he actually can lead. There are some parts left out by the show which understandable including how some of the men made Sobel's situation worse by tampering with Sobel's equipment. Also about Sobel and Winter grudge, there are two sides of that story. But don't think about it, it's a tv show after all, not historical document.
Thanks for covering this series. In my estimation one of the best series ever. If I was a tyrant leader of the country I'd mandate every senior in high school watch this series.
I think "Ross" said Currahee was 3 mi. up / 3 mi. down. As to it being "harder" back then, it was (harder times, harder war). WW1, the Great Depression & WW2 produced tough generations of American Men. Times & Technique change. As does equipment, technology & tactics. Pretty much every generation of Americans has answered the call when needed & done what was needed at the time. Easy to underestimate people, but never a good idea to underestimate the US military (yesterday & today). Those who have have regretted it. From all us Vets (as said below) Thanks for watching Fellas!!!
This show is going to be epic with you two guys 👍 I’m fully in for this one 👏👏👏👏 …..AND Private Ryan at the same time…..wow! Is Schindler’s List on the WWII schedule, too…..?
I'll never forget the day at the Airport in Kuwait City seeing coffins draped w/American Flags being loaded aboard Air Force planes. We were returning home from Iraq. Put it in perspective (we were walking onto the plane, not being loaded on).
As far as true war stories goes this ranks at the top. My blood line comes from Germany and I had ancestors fighting on both sides of the war. I find the entire conflict fascinating.
Sobel, while proficient in finding each paratrooper candidate's STRENGTHS AND LIMITATIONS, nonetheless was labeled a "chicken shit" officer by author Stephen Ambrose -- bullying and punishments for petty regulation violations. Another possible adjective for Sobel's type is "martinet," anyone in authority with a tendency to cruelty. Those men who wrote the refusal to serve under Sobel were very brave men, fighting for common sense at home even before fighting an flesh-and-blood enemy in Europe. I'm duly impressed by Winters as he lends a hand to EACH ONE OF THE MEN IN HIS UNIT, helping them up and looking them in the eyes, before boarding those planes.
There were a lot of great actors that came out of this series. Always kinda makes me laugh seeing Donnie Wahlberg in this. I always remembered him from New Kids on the block 😂.
Call of Duty: World at War mentioned! Maybe the most underrated game in the series, I LOVED that game. Fun fact, the Call of Duty series was directly inspired by Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers! Great reaction, can't wait for more.
DEFINITELY the most underrated & when Zombies started in the series! First game where legs, arms, etc would blow off from trip mines, shotguns, etc.. That’s something we didn’t know! We appreciate you & every Thursday🔥
Looking forward to watching this with ya'll. A good recommendation after this series would be The Pacific, which is on the Pacific theatre against the Japanese, which was a far more inhumane and barbaric war. Then Generation Kill, which is during the Iraq war in 2003. It's interesting to watch these because you get a comparison in how war was treated by people back in the 1940's to today.
Happy to have you here w/ us! We have gotten a lot of request for the pacific so it will definitely be added to our list! We personally love watching war stuff bc of the insight & learning what people went through is intriguing for us so we will get to it🙏🏾
This is the first video I'm watching from you two. Trying to place the accent. Baltimore? Philly? Definitely sound mid-Atlantic. The only reason I bring it up is because I could listen to you talk all day.
15:14 keep a keen eye, you’ll notice a lot of World at War weapons in the miniseries, since both pieces of media take place in WWII. Speaking of World at War, I would recommend watching the Pacific after this. Not only do both pieces of media cover the US Marines fighting the Japanese in WWII, but both also show off their renditions of the Battle of Peleliu and Okinawa.
Yep, that's Abraham from The Walking Dead. TWD and his role was 13 years after this though. One of the best mini series ever made, Band of Brothers that is. Are you going to react to the three TWD minis. The episodes with Rick and Michonne just started last Sunday.
@@DaKidsReact Honestly, those were brutal, brutal deaths. Saying that, Negan, who killed Glenn and Abraham, is one of the best characters they put on The Walking Dead. If you can see a villain, and know he's a complete psycho and still like him, that's talent and Jeffrey Dean Morgan did it amazingly. If your brother hasn't seen it, maybe a redo on those seasons and continue on. Seasons 7 & 8 are probably two of the best seasons the show did.
Just subbed from this reaction nice job guys 🎉 I’d suggest the Lord of the Rings Trilogy all extended versions if you guys have not seen them yet. Over 20 years old now and still the best fantasy cinema and story ever written
Bruh after these 10 episodes, you have to watch The Pacific. Its another 10 episode mini series also produced by Steven Spieldberg and Tom Hanks. Much more intense.
I've watched a lot of these BoB reactions but you guys are the first to mention, "what if you sh*t your self in battle?" I would say you are well and truly fucked at that point... lmao
Not shown in here, but when they're crawling through the barbed wire and pig guts? There was also a machine gun firing live rounds over their heads. Keep. Your head. Down.

Definitely has been insane so far & love the different POV’s & plot they have! Easy company was on of a kind!
@@mysticramen1721 this is so cool, thank you for your service and for sharing this story!!
@DaKidsReact it was a very proud experience for me. The triple nickel was a highly decorated and respected unit. I highly recommend looking into them.
Yesssssssssss. The best tv in tv history. So happy for yall
Man you guys watch the best stuff and are killing it rn. Wish yall nothing but success 🙏
We appreciate you & your support this means a lot to us! Much love💙
Great reaction, guys. It's always good to see people who want to learn about the price paid by our greatest generation to protect the freedoms we enjoy. Great insights, too. I subscribed so I can enjoy the journey with you. CURRAHEE!!
We appreciate you, your support & WELCOME💙
Can’t wait to see more from you guys man! This is honestly one of the greatest shows ever and you guys seem cool
We appreciate you & thank you for your support💙
Can’t wait to see where it takes us & thank you for supporting us💙🙏🏾
Even just watching, you will be different by the end. Glad you both are watching.
100%
Band Of Brothers is some of the greatest tv ever produced! You will love it!
That’s a memorable firearm!! That’s amazing to have that still!
Love the reaction. Subscribed and thanks for watching something like this.
Appreciate you, your support & WELCOME💙
You guys are great, can't wait to see the rest of the series with you
We appreciate you💙
Enjoyed ya'lls reaction! nice job...
We appreciate you💙
This is by far the greatest show ever aired.
That's why they called me wild Bill. I did a lot of killing on D-Day.
~Bill Guarnere
“What if your stomach hurts” 🤣🤣🤣 facts though! I always thought about that
🤣🤣 that’s stuff people don’t think about lol
If you're going all the way with this...be prepared to grow, laugh, learn and suffer with these characters. The first episode is in some ways my favorite, if only for the innocence and the fact that I know what lies ahead for these men. This was when their biggest threats were "Army noodles with ketchup." I love the power move Winters makes by literally grabbing the pen out of Sobel's hand while he was abusing his power...it's brilliant, and a true story. "Jumping into Band of Brothers..." That's funny. It's a 12 hour Saving Private Ryan in quality...CURRAHEE! ♠
My theory. He put that letter in his jacket intentionally so Bill could get the news more casually and on his own.
Okay... I am going to have to do the Patreon. I got to see the remaining reactions.
You guys are great. 👍👍
True Detective. Season1. You will trip out on this series
Not finished with the first episode but good conversation so far, guys.
Thank you, we hope you enjoy the reaction(s)🙏🏾
Salute, sir! Thank you for your service!
This show is going to be epic with you two guys 👍
I’m fully in for this one 👏👏👏👏
…..AND Private Ryan at the same time…..wow!
Is Schindler’s List on the WWII schedule, too…..?
Strap in for the ride!! And yeah we made sure to give you guys that film around the same time of this! It was only right and we’ll have to see🤔👀
Damn, this is real life, history,...
They are parachuting into northern France, beyond the beaches, before the beach landings begin
I'll never forget the day at the Airport in Kuwait City seeing coffins draped w/American Flags being loaded aboard Air Force planes. We were returning home from Iraq. Put it in perspective (we were walking onto the plane, not being loaded on).
These men gave there all for us so we not sucking on cold potato my hats off to those men !
As far as true war stories goes this ranks at the top.
My blood line comes from Germany and I had ancestors fighting on both sides of the war. I find the entire conflict fascinating.
Having family on both sides must have been conflicting during those times. This series has been amazing so far for us!
We personally love watching war stuff bc of the insight & learning what people went through is intriguing for us so we will get to it🙏🏾
Winters was 26 years old. Most of others were much younger
This is the first video I'm watching from you two. Trying to place the accent. Baltimore? Philly? Definitely sound mid-Atlantic. The only reason I bring it up is because I could listen to you talk all day.
We are originally from NY but live in Harrisburg PA & went to school near Pittsburgh so we use slang from all areas. We appreciate you 💙
@@DaKidsReact OK. I'm near Pittsburgh too. What school you go too?
I (swizz) went to IUP (football) & sheim went to Lock Haven (football) @@timlois
@@DaKidsReactOh nice. I'm Slippery Rock U.
Dang, AN ARCH RIVAL lol@@timlois
15:14 keep a keen eye, you’ll notice a lot of World at War weapons in the miniseries, since both pieces of media take place in WWII.
Speaking of World at War, I would recommend watching the Pacific after this. Not only do both pieces of media cover the US Marines fighting the Japanese in WWII, but both also show off their renditions of the Battle of Peleliu and Okinawa.
That’s what the plan is for now
Sobel is insecure about his authority. He sees anyone who is compentent as a threat.
helll yeah best show ever
The $50/month bonus in 1942 would be equal to nearly $2,000 today. The $10,000 life insurance policy in 1944 would b like about $172,000 today.
Puts everything into perspective!
Jarhead is underrated. Good shout.
Was one of my (Sheim) favorite movies for awhile! Love that film!
Yes that is Abraham from The walking Dead
love the reference to cod world at war
Reminded me of it especially since i was a HEAVY cod player growing up
@@DaKidsReact yup was one of my favorites too, hope you guys enjoy the show just finished my first rewatch of it!
The Pacific is also a banger....
Added into our schedule to watch🔥
@@DaKidsReact ♥️🔥♥️🔥
some of these men were only 17 so dont tell me we cant good things in life because we can if we want to !
Yep, that's Abraham from The Walking Dead. TWD and his role was 13 years after this though. One of the best mini series ever made, Band of Brothers that is. Are you going to react to the three TWD minis. The episodes with Rick and Michonne just started last Sunday.
I (swizz) watched up until G death & that was it for me & sheim hasn’t seen it at all so we definitely might!
Seasons 7 & 8 are probably two of the best seasons the show did.
nice reaction
Appreciate the love!
YOU GOT TO REMEMBER THESES GUYS WERE SPECIAL FORCES
Is your girl Kristiina here. Please do The Last Kingdom, pretty please.
Just subbed from this reaction nice job guys 🎉 I’d suggest the Lord of the Rings Trilogy all extended versions if you guys have not seen them yet. Over 20 years old now and still the best fantasy cinema and story ever written
Pvt. White is going to the infantry, tomorrow.
10K bought you a house in those days so that life insurance usually went to Mom or a Wife.
Yep, that’s Abraham.
Bruh after these 10 episodes, you have to watch The Pacific. Its another 10 episode mini series also produced by Steven Spieldberg and Tom Hanks. Much more intense.
I've watched a lot of these BoB reactions but you guys are the first to mention, "what if you sh*t your self in battle?" I would say you are well and truly fucked at that point... lmao
🤣🤣 but those are things that are real & raw that most people don’t think about. It came to my mind & i had to say it
@@DaKidsReact Lol, I with you man but that was funny shit though...
Call of duty world at war was indeed that shit 😂
IYKYK🔥
Not shown in here, but when they're crawling through the barbed wire and pig guts? There was also a machine gun firing live rounds over their heads. Keep. Your head. Down.
Makes that scene much more nerve racking🤯
His name is Winters not Waters.
First ep, takes times we got it right after.
100% abraham, but before that, he was Bull Randleman.
Right I saw it as Bull was on the Walking dead
SOBEL CAN TRAIN HE CAN'T LEAD
Are you going to stroke, twist and massage you're beard on camera the entire series man?,...honestly it's unnerving to have to watch. Please stop...Thanks :)
