In Philadelphia there is a park called Heffron Playground at 2nd n Reed Streets in Pennsport neighborhood. There is a bronze statue of Babe Heffron there as a memorial. In that bronze statue is a bronze heart containing the ashes of Babe and his wife. Years later a bronze statue of Wild Bill Guarnere joined that of Babe. Brothers in battle and best friends reunited in bronze, captured in time.
It was only right we watched the documentary. It gives the show a different perspective & to hear their stories, from their perspective & give them the spotlight they deserve was THE LEAST we could do! Much love💙
Sadly, all the Easy Company men have passed on. The last man from Easy was PFC Bradford Freeman in July 2022. The last man portrayed in the series to pass was 1LT Edward Shames in December 2021. #RIP to all of these heroes! Currahee! 🇺🇸

The greatest reveal in history. You also need to see Ron Livingston's (Nixon's) Bootcamp documentary preparing for the movie and becoming these characters. Sadly these heroes are all gone now. They will never be forgotten... I'm so glad they and their families gathered for years later. But the men who portrayed them now have reunions of their own, that says something. Currahee! ♠
There are also videos of the actors and surviving family members that were organized by the WW2 museum in Louisiana. They can also be found on RUclips.. As can the BoB podcasts... one for each episode.. including this one.
I watched this series about 12 years ago and 2 years later I seen one of the gentleman in Wal-Mart in Azle, Texas. I went up to him in his wheelchair and I knelt down and looked in his eyes, I broke down and started crying. I told him that I was so sorry for the things he had seen and went through and that I was grateful for what they all done for Us. I know I will never forget what these men went through. I bought this series for my husband and we watched it all the time. RIP to the men of Easy Company.
There is a Dick Winters display of his den in the Hershey History Center. A visit to the Gettysburg Museum of History might be interesting for you guys. It has a lot of artifacts from the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863). They also have a lot of memorabilia from Dick Winters since he lived a stone's throw away. You might even want to watch and react to the movie Gettysburg if you haven't see it. Better in two parts. This would make the trip even better. You could do a very nice set of travel blogs videos for your channel. This would cover the museum and then the Gettysburg National Military Park. This documentary realize a great exclamation point for the series. Babe Heffron singing Bridget O'Flynn is a definite treat. Babe was also know for being able to cut a rug and doing the Jitterbug. My Dad spent 4 years in vietnam...he got a one year "hardship tour" in hawaii where he just had to make formation once a week...he never really told us what he did over there...he was field artillery, both towed and mechanized howitzers...countless medals including several bronze stars and two purple hearts...after he passed, mom wouldn't let me see his service record...she said there wasn't much to look at in it and to not worry about it...after my mom passed I was finally able to open dads records and see what he really did...everything but his awards FOB locations was blacked out and redacted...
Thanks for bringing back the epic documentary of a small part of what happened in WWII. I retired from the Army a few years back after 30 years and I'm finally going to hike up Currahee in N Georgia in a few months and next year plan to go to Normandy. Keep up the good work.

It would be so cool if you guys would react to the Ron Livingston (Nix) behind the scenes featurette of their training boot camp. So much if why the show was amazing can be seen in that experience. They did a 20th anniversary last year, delayed because of COVID, and their spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood, just like Easy Company, have maintained all these years on.
The production/film crew went around the country filming these guys before the series aired.. Some refused to talk to HBO/Hanks/Spielberg until after Major Winters told them it was OK. That Winters thought they were going to tell their story the right way... I've seen an interview from one of the assistant producers who actually visited these guys in their homes that said they tried to get as many living vets as they could... Some died before they could record their interviews. Some died before the series aired.. None of them liked to talk about themselves, but they loved to talk about their buddies or other members of Easy. The meusem near you in PA is the Gettysburg meusem of history. They also have several affiliated RUclips channels. Gettysburg is near Hershey (where Winters lived). I haven't been there myself, but being from NE Ohio, I've been to Gettysburg several times, but not since the meusem has been open. I keep telling myself I need to make the trip...

Stephen Ambrose wrote 'Band of Brothers,' 'D-Day,' and 'Citizen Soldiers.' In Citizen Soldiers, I think, he writes that one guy was so far off course when he jumped that he was alone for five days. He killed Germans with his knife, his pistol, and his carbine before he found another American.
Watched all of your Band of Brother reaction video. Great reaction. I recommend the movie Flags of Our Fathers & Letters from Iwo Jima. Hope to see y'all reaction on these two film.

Unfortunately, no one from Easy Company is alive anymore or the 101st airborne that you saw. I won't plug another channel, but if anyone wants some real history of the 101st and Easy Company, check out The History Underground. They go throughout the war they faced.
If y'all ever react to the Pearl Harbor film please do the rare R rated directors cut version not the normal PG-13 rated version that everyone else has seen 💯 its pretty different & a million times more brutal !!!!! Probably the greatest directors cut ever made along with the movie Donnie Brosco !!!!! Most directors cut versions of movies are barely any different than the normal versions but those ones are crazy different
You guys should check out a video called "The First Medal of Honor Ever Recorded". Its drone footage from a CIA drone capturing a man fighting dozens of enemies to protect his teammates. You can watch the whole thing unfold and John Chapman, the man who did it, could arguably be awarded TWO Medals of Honor for his actions. Its crazy to watch.
Check out Ron Livingston's (Nixon) behind the scenes bootcamp footage! He filmed and documented their actors boot camp where everyone did 1940s style training for the show!
Forrest Guth is a very interesting character, he was written to be in the show, but sadly he was nixed at the last moment, because the producers were worried that his name was too close to "Forrest Gump". He was known for having a LOT of extra pockets sewn onto his coats, enjoying carrying a bunch of things (his character for the show was fully created and his uniform with pockets manufactured, even), and he was an extraordinaire gunsmith, able to turn the standard-issue Garands into full auto, and they were extremely prized by the men, calling them the "Guth Specials". Along with Talbert and Gordon, he came across Meehan's wreck after landing. In Hagenau, he was one of those selected to go across the river and grab some prisoners, because he spoke German, but in the show, his place is filled by Webster instead.
My Uncle lies in his grave in the Netherlands, shot down and killed when I was 3 months old. I've been to visit a number of times and often wonder if they would be proud of the way some people utilise the freedoms those men fought for today.
Keep in mind guys, when u see those tracer bullets firing at those men coming down. They are every fifth round. So. When u see those tracers, there is four more rounds between them.
I was lucky enough to grow up next door to a WWII vet in Nova Scotia. He let me pick shrapnel out of his back that worked its way out after so many years because ptsd didn’t let him go to the doctor after the field hospital.
Absolutely brilliant reaction to the whole series from you guys 👏👏👏👏 Genuine respect for how totally invested you were to the story, the men and the production values I think you’d very much appreciate another documentary- Jeremy Clarkson Victoria Cross - approx 1 hour about the history of the UK’s version of the Medal of Honor 👍
Market Garden was an unnecessary action, not because of when it went off, but instead the British general Bernard Montgomery wanted to prove his worth, after Eisenhower was made leader of the combined forces. Montgomery took certain actions that made no sense, caused the US to delay moving forward (having to fight in holland), getting stopped and the Brits to lose a way into Germany, along with a large number of soldiers. General Patton knew he had a way into Germany. But by then the agreement by the uppers was that Russia would be dominant in taking the main parts of the German homeland. The US and Brits would play a minor role from that point. A role that would allow Russia (The Soviet Union) to control most of Eastern Europe.
Footage was how many got to understand why the US went to war in the 40s. And many who photographed and spoke with the soldiers were in some of the thickest fights - many not returning alive, with their notes/pictures being the only thing left. This was the most recorded war, to this point, and likely since as reporters/documentarians where set with brigades all over the world.
FYI, the pistol Winters just showed us was received from a Major, unlike in the series, where we sim him permit a surrendering Colonel to keep his firearm. Senior officers conducted several formal surrenders of German officers located within each of their sectors. It was at the discretion of the American officers to take or allow German officers to keep their weapons.

There were a few things in the show that were found to be in error (the outcome of Blithe is one.) But the story of the pistol given to Winters was changed for dramatic license- it was decided that changing that aspect added to Winters’ character, and to the depth of the scene. Winters was consulted for a lot of the content of the show, and if he had strong objections, he would have let the writers know. Similar to the change made about the German solider from Oregon - he was actually much closer to Malarkey, but it seemed too unbelievable so the writers slightly changed the details. I saw one documentary where the actual men did say that there was not as much swearing or use of the F word back then, and that would be one thing they wished was changed, but it was decided that modern audiences would need more swearing and especially use of the F word, that it was necessary to make audiences relate to the men.
Mad respect to how much admiration these two young men have shown to the men of easy company and all who served over there. You guys are a class act!
I hate to be a broken record - but these two guys have been the most perceptive out of all of those who I've seen review the Band of Brothers series.

There were a few things in the show that were found to be in error (the outcome of Blithe is one.) But the story of the pistol given to Winters was changed for dramatic license- it was decided that changing that aspect added to Winters’ character, and to the depth of the scene. Winters was consulted for a lot of the content of the show, and if he had strong objections, he would have let the writers know. Similar to the change made about the German solider from Oregon - he was actually much closer to Malarkey, but it seemed too unbelievable so the writers slightly changed the details. I saw one documentary where the actual men did say that there was not as much swearing or use of the F word back then, and that would be one thing they wished was changed, but it was decided that modern audiences would need more swearing and especially use of the F word, that it was necessary to make audiences relate to the men.
