I agree Alan - the next best thing, and actually many experts seem to rave about 2019 far more than they ever did about 2017. When I briefly saw Tom last month he was also singing 2019's praises, and regrets not having stockpiled more wine from that vintage when he had the chance.
It was good - beautiful fruit but also those extra secondary (tertiary?) notes for added interest. A great vintage and (by Gevrey Chambertin standards) a very good price!
