Phrasing,musicality,drama is very attractive.
Sinceramente creo que Carreras en esta aria está sublime, posiblemente está será una de las arias que mejor canta el tenor, y también creo que la canta magistralmente, Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! toda una demostración de entrega total y maestría.
Jose Carreras is a very fine tenor. I enjoy listening to him.

Those who only know Carreras from the 3 Tenors can now see that prior to his tragic illness he was perfection. A compelling matinee idol, with poetic expression and the most thrilling tenor voice of his generation. These particular videos from "fabiantenor" are the best documentation of the Jose Carreras who was knocking New Yorkers on their uhh "ear" at the NYCO in the early 70s. If he and Sills were doing "Lucia", a lot of smart opera goers were taking a left turn at the fountain.

Surprisingly I really enjoyed this rendition of Carreras. His voice does sound fresh, potent and clear, specially in his low and middle register. He could never really get to manage well or dominate technically his high register, and it shows including in this rendition, when his voice was clearly in it's prime.

I'm sure you're right. He looks so young. His hair thinned out after the cancer treatments. 1984 was before that of course. I first heard him live in the seventies.

Grande sorpresa. Carreras fué grande cuando joven. Grande interpretacion,bella voz. Está entre los mejores interpretes de esta aria.Lastima que posteriormente su voz se arruinó.

His illness I know didn't help! But his voice was deteriorating prior to that, sadly. I love him in his prime.
