So in my opinion, we are in the midst of what I like to call "The Traveller's Gambit". I believe that one of the truths that moth mommy revealed to us was that the golf ball is essentially a prediction engine. It's "choices" are merely mathematical decisions based on probability. Therein lies The Traveller's power but also it's weakness. See I think it is trapped by probability & it's efforts to seed the universe with life are an effort to find a species not bound by fate. A species that will, for want of a better phrase, "take a shot". Enter humanity. Something about us is different, something about us affects paracausality & once we were given a direct connection to the power of the Light, we were able to use that power to make our own fate. "Guardians make their own fate", a line from vanilla D1. Seems kinda fitting that it should all come down to that.
This is very well phrased 🙌 I also think the same but I reckon the Witnesses answer to that is to go back to the Garden where they originally played. Remember it was said that the Gardener grew frustrated with the Game, decided to change the rules and "Enter" the game itself.... and the Winnower found the first Knife in response. I think what Asher showed us is, bear with me, his artistic take on what the connection between the actual game 'Destiny' looks like, which would be the Veil, and what the background Game engine is, which as much as its still part of the computer is actually more a part of our world that directs their entire universe, or the board of the flower game itself, hence why that part looks like realistic white trees. I don't think Asher has the visual capability to truly see our universe so to his best understanding its a bunch of trees and he left the colors blank. I reckon the Witness has technically 'left' Destiny and is affecting the actual game itself to create the Final Shape, which is Destiny 3. Or the Witness left to kill the real world players and win forever i dunno you decide
That makes sense. Your comment made me ponder on why the Traveler exists at all. Light and Dark are essentially forces in the Universe, surely neither actually needs any physical manifestation? I doubt the Traveler is required to ensure that life is made within the universe, so what you said makes more sense than The Traveler just being some spontaneously made being tasked with bringing life into the Universe.
The Witness, like the Traveler, is part of an equation. A universal equation. I think their relationship somewhat mirrors Neo and Agent Smith in some ways. Smith is singular in it's goal. It's a virus, it only seeks to control and take over the Matrix. Neo is an anomaly within the Matrix, created by the Matrix itself as a defense mechanism. The Witness is, ultimately, not evil or seeking to destroy us, it only ever needed the Traveler to create the "doorway" to wherever it eventually went. Singular in it's goal, it ignores literally everything else only taking action when something or someone attempts to get in it's way. It only sees the universe one way because it's been "programmed" to do so. It only sees death, suffering, entropy. The Traveler is life, hope, and energy. Why it's goal in combining the paracausal forces of "light" and "dark" to create a portal and where that leads is the ultimate question, but it seems The Witness has deviated from it's purpose, or has changed it.
Humanity is no more special in it's ability to make unpredictable choices than the eliksni, and the traveler left the eliksni, so i don't think trying to find an unpredictable species is it's goal
This actually ties the lore together pretty well. Savathun killed Nezerec and took the veil, which made the Witness task the Sol Divisive with creating a duplicate, that ultimately became the Heart of the Black Garden. And while they failed, the heart did have some effect on the Traveler, forcing us to go in and destroy it in D1.
You a real one Mr. D Matthews. You are one of the only people I know that actually realize that this ACTUALLY ties a LOT of lore together and it IS NOT just a "retcon".
@@thisgoddamusernamestoodamnlong Nothing was "retconned" though. Nothing about the Black Heart's lore was changed in any way shape or form. We simply attained more knowledge about it than we had previously which still ties in and fits to the knowledge we had about it previously.
@@RespiteofChampionsIt's a damn good thing Bungie literally had zero idea what the Darkness was until probably around Beyond Light. All that vague story telling and non answers really helped their future story Arc.
I’m pretty sure the reason the Witness told Calus to destroy the veil was because it wanted Calus and us to fight, which ultimately leads to Calus’s death and our ghost in close proximity to create the link (a being of light, is the link for the artifact of darkness) The Witness used Calus solely to get us close enough to the Veil so that we kill him and provide a link, 2 birds and 1 stone.
I think it was actually both the reason in the video and this one. He had the radial mast as a means to link without us. And if we won then he had the plan to use our ghost as well. If calus got the radial mast in there, then the plan was to destroy the veil adter the witness went through essentially closing the door behind him. In the end by sending calus, the witness created a lose lose situation for us because if we kill calus portal opens, if calus kills us, portal opens. Even if we killed calus earlier, we’d still have to fend off a massive horde of cabal. The veil appears to have both light and dark elements to it (dark top, light roots) so it is likely calus with darkness abilities could just as easily connected with the veil given the chance.
I just want to point out that the traveler communes via dreams. I think it did it to the speaker and it actually did to us to be able to find the shard of the traveler. The core thing is that the traveler contacts via dreams which is something that the darkness does, memory, emotions etc
No, darkness deals with the past, light with the chaotic future. Growth and dreams have been pretty firmly put in the light/future camp in the lore right?
@@vyrv6719 the light is the power of creation and universal forces. The Darkness is the power of universal consciousness in all of it's forms, but mainly memory it seems. I don't think it's past vs future because the light can resurrect that which was once dead.
I think the more important aspect of the dreams is the dichotomy between how the Darkness and Light communicate. The Darkness will come right up to your doorstep and tell you exactly what it's thinking right to your face. The Light must never communicate directly and only shows signs and visions, with the hope that whoever receives the message will figure it out.
The Veil is the offspring of the Witness and the Traveler. The Traveler has been on the run, ducking child support. Now, the Witness is here to collect.
That is one of my theory's too. I think that the veil is a version of the final shape but an imperfect one, possibly formed during the Gardener and winnower's battle at the beginning of the universe. The Witness might want it in order to ensure that they can use it's presence of light to bypass the travellers defenses and maybe use it's darkness to fuse with the traveller.
If I knew that tweet before the campaign would’ve been so much more enjoyable to play! And if the Veil “stores” the universe, then perhaps the Witness traveled in time when entering the portal. Maybe it wants to “correct” the first Collapse so none of this would need to happen to begin with.
Love the Emote Guardian montage. I feel like it fully emerses what you're communicating to us and it works. It's also incredible material right from the game the lore comes from. Excellent call on that format.
The veil seems to be like an extension of the traveler, containing its memories emotions dreams, hence why it is so crucial to the witness’s plan and why the black heart had such a great affect on the traveler
crazy theory : the Veil is the incarnation of Gardener/Winnower couple and of their struggle (game flower) in this universe. their fight in the Garden created universes, each one balanced in light and darkness, physical and psychic.., whom frontier is the Veil, which would be both the "DNA" of our universe and the final destination of all its content
So many videos on this topic, not one has yet tried spinfoil hat decipherings of all the crazy Neomuna hieroglyphics on the walls lol, I’m shocked. Lol. Anyway, I can’t wait to see the Vanguard’s faces when we allow Imaru to res Savathun and she yells at us for failing on every level without her
i think the 'primordial light and dark' line about the veils link was rereferring to the ghost and the witness being connected and the veil is just what links the primordial light and dark together, not the veil being the actual primordial darkness itself otherwise wouldnt the link be created as soon as ghost arrives at the veil and we're right above it?
Easily the best video on RUclips discussing the veil. Thank you for putting it out even though it's already been covered by other people. Yours is better every time
I never thought about it until I saw it again but dosen't anyone else think it's strange how our Ghost takes the position/perspective of the Witness in that cutscene when it gets 'taken over' and Calus appears with all the glass cracks as if they are one in the same
I think the Witness was playing us in that moment. It was testing that it could take over Ghost while setting a trap for either us or Calus (or both). It was all just a play to keep us and Calus out of the way.
@@DUKEzors I actually think it NEEDED our ghost, and everything else was a setup to get us into position. Why did the whiteness say they wanted to destroy it? They didn't, the Whiteness just needed us to go find the veil for it.
@@DUKEzors I'm inclined to believe this since if there was any other kind of connection between the two, Ghost would have shown their next meeting as well when Calus pooped a brick.
My interpretation was that the witness knew it was talking through the ghost so it said "destroy the veil" so that we didnt know its plan, but later when its only talking to calus it says "create the link". i think its true plan was always to use ghost to create the link and was just using calus as bait to get us there or at least that becaume the plan after the radial mast was destroyed. Perhaps the veil could only be activated with a powerful light being/artifact like the mast or ghost which would explain why calus got to the veil first but hadn't created the link and why the witness didnt just go to neptune snd create the link itself.
It’s very interesting that Nezarec refers to The Veil as “the sapid secret of its [The Witness] first victims.” So the first species to be eradicated as part of The Final Shape were somehow connected to The Veil in some way. Very interesting, I bet that will be a key component going forward as we learn more throughout the year.
@@gackolpz One of Savathun’s “this is the truth” lines from the Altar says the Witness’s species was once chosen by the light but they became insatiable for knowledge. Your hypothesis tracks.
@@gackolpz What do you bet that the witness species is just future or past humanity. Doesn't it seem obvious that the Witness is human. He literally looks human
My guess is the Veil was created by a species or group of species that wielded the Darkness, possibly a group like the Ecumene. Or, crazy idea here, the first victim was the Winnower. Could the Witness be taking revenge on both sides, light and dark, thus ending the "game" permanently?
Your mix is sick. The destiny background music behind the narration had me taking out a headphone to make sure it was just tucked way in the back on the mix and not on my tv or something. Thats good sound design.
Hello good morning Myelin another well researched in depth exhaustive deep dive into the concept of the Veil it really gets confusing but thanks to you and Byf i understand some of it ....I ain't the brightest so..big hugs
Thank you for the video and the explanation. Sir!! you are brilliant!!! I know this must have been a ton of work to put together. You have my gratitude!
The implication of "The veil" is pretty clear, though. It is the veil between the Traveler's light/life and the Witness' darkness/death. The membrane that keeps them apart. Like a glass window keeping the cold out from your home in the winter. I don't think it is a conscious entity like the Traveler and the Witness, but I believe us seeing the scene between the Witness and Calus is the veil's doing.
Great video myelin, thanks for taking the time to make this one, I appreciate that you've presented it categorically to see where you pulled the info from.
So the Veil seems very much like the irl concept of the Akashic Record. In a lot of spiritual circles, the Akashic Record is a "library" that holds all knowledge in the universe. Everything that exists, past, present, and future is recorded there. Every thought, emotion, event, or circumstance is logged and if someone gains access to that knowledge they can become transcendent. For example, in the Book of Enoch, in front of the throne of God is a great stone tablet(or something?) that stretches across Heaven and has everything about the universe transcribed on it. The specifics of Enoch's ascension into an angel aren't due exclusively to reading the "Akashic Record" in this circumstance, but it's the first example of that concept that came to mind.
If you read the Unveiling lore book, there are some explanations about the final shape, also I just remembered what the witness said at the end of Witch queen when he mentioned about the traveler having no more pieces left, meaning this is a game for keeps. I think the witness is the Widower and the gardener is the traveler. In the Breakneck mission, there are markings about the traveler and the witness.
Pretty sure the winnower and witness are distinct. Since the winnower is specifically implied to be the darkness, and they describe the witness as the entity that gives the darkness a wicked shape.
So did Savathun use the Veil to steal or alter the memory of the Witness? Did she make the Witness believe that he had already won or destroyed the Traveller thereby encouraging him to retreat back out to the edge of the galaxy (not unlike the Reapers)? Forgetting what he was originally doing? The burst of light that was released when the Traveller destroyed Ghaul popped the bubble of the illusion and reminded the Witness that it was busy with something. She killed Nezerac and took the Veil to ensure that the Witness wasn't reminded and encouraged the Vex to build the Black Heart in order to keep the Traveller "indisposed". The Witness needed the Veil to regain his memories and pick up where he left off....
So from what’s stated in the video, and it does make sense, rather then alter the witnesses memory(probably impossible) she altered her own! To scramble her mind in some way maybe? Ultimately keeping this secret for a long time, I think was worthy to wield the light because that sacrifice that was made, making Savathun a guardian completely mostly wiped it from her brain
@@thisgoddamusernamestoodamnlong She tricked him somehow of course. The Veil is paracausal and the Witness is not invincible, he is a physical being just like us and paracausal in nature, just like us. If your memory of being tricked has been removed or altered you wouldn't know you had been tricked.
@@thisgoddamusernamestoodamnlong she is the god of secrets and deception. The very act of the Witness trying to unveil her plans and acts and why she was doing them increases her power and makes her able to deceive easier. It's a self-feeding cycle and the fact that her powers come directly from the dark, she became even stronger against the Witness.
About the linking/destroying the veil story conundrum, the witness tells Calus to link the radial mast , and obviously it must be linked to the veil, and see the veil destroyed. So the veil must be linked and THEN the veil must be destroyed.
I think this paints out the original plot of Witch Queen: Savathun, having hidden the Veil in her Throne World, sought to become Lightborn and free from her worm, escape would make her a god. So does and needs a method to bring herself back. Cue the Veil and it's window into the memory of everything, the ultimate textbook. Savathun leads herself to recover her objective thanks to our inadvertent help from tinkering with Deepsight *cough* i mean Strand. She reaches the Veil and regains her full memory like she did to Crow and sets out to steal the Traveler. We, having become adept at Strand cut the threads she's sown over a very long time and kill her. This foils her plan and then the Witness rolls up and cuts a triangle into* the Traveler and goes in*. Cue original Lightfall, now Final Shape.
I'm pretty sure The Witch Queen's plot was pretty intact and unbutchered by Bungie's realization that they wouldn't be able to keep up a yearly release schedule for expansions without buying some time with a minimal effort filler DLC. The only element that got taken from Witch Queen was Strand, for whatever reason - being either undercooked and needing more dev time or Bungie's new philosophy on never overpromising on products and being better to underdeliver. So they needed to make a simple, easy story that would take minimal effort and time as possible to package into a DLC while they still worked on the actual, final DLC too. Hence the plot where they came up with a macguffin that is super important but nobody tells you what or why it's important and made the rest of the campaign pretty much a training montage for Strand, which was originally supposed to be in Witch Queen as we know. The Veil may have some role in the Final Shape more than was explained in Lightfall, but I doubt Witch Queen would have involved it at all. After all, Savathun stole the Veil from the Witness and Nezerac supposedly, and having it stashed in her Throne World where Rhulk could see it would reveal her treachery to him and the Witness before she decided to change to the Light.
@@joshuavidrine889 i mean he plot line was relatively the same getting from point A - meeting savathicc to point B - killing savathicc... but lmao it was already confirmed that it was *IN FACT* 'butchered'/reconsolidated to exclude strand and the plot relevant info regarding the darkness/witness and the traveler/veil. Savathun's whole throne word is tailor made for strand and already tackles the time travel/memory snapshot stuff. Witch queen was missing something and we all knew it, but Light 3.0 made us all forget, look back at the reveal for WQ, at the end of the trailer when the Hive Risen run at us in their supers us for SOME reason the next shot (and remember bungie cinematography is legendary) , they pan to a run way shot!! why a run way shot?! why would they focus on the ground infront of them instead of the guardians they are running towards? the Answer: Our Gurdians are meant to Pop their Strand Supers right there for the big bombshell reveal that seals the deal on destiny hype. Having seen the mushroom theory, byfs, and now yours I’m VERY interested in the connection to the ghosts and the veil. Didn’t the ghost have a pocket dimension they refer to as our backpack? Access to that place could be related.
The veil's image is that of a mushroom with the cup inverted and the colours and shapes are amongst those reported by people who consume psilocybin. This combined with all of the actual fungus from last season gives a strong clue about what might have at least in part, inspired the nature of the veil. Edit: by "colours and shapes" I mean in the veil "portal" that the witnesses made in the traveller and the portal underneath the mushroom shaped facility on Neomuna.
And those colors are the same red kaleidoscope light that was shown when Sundance was killed by a weapon of sorrow. His white light exploded outward, turned to a red kaleidoscope, and then collapsed like a star into nothing.
I feel like the Egregore fungus is related to Strand given Calus's explanation of it. Maybe it's a more corrupted version but it also creates the same type of connections that Strand does, though more of a joining than extant primordial connections, like monkey paw's version of Strand.
Listening to Rasputin's "Goodbye" message again I cannot help but be angry a well-written and well-spoken Destiny character was removed from the game. I secretly hope Ana made a copy and will eventually get him into an Exo body, but that is just copium.
I'm just mad they brought him back just for that. They brought back Rasputin and Amanda just for people to get to know them a little bit so they could have easy emotional moments. All it did for me was make me mad at how lazy it was. Rasputin didn't even have a point coming back at all, he was never going to be able to actually help us against Xivu Arath, the WAR god who is *billions* of years old. He should have made his last stand against the fleet in Arrivals and died gracefully there rather than leave him as a dangling thread to use when they need a filler season. The season didn't even tie into this seasons story, we got bits and pieces of lore that hinted at Neptune via the dungeon but the season itself? Nothing. It's the worst tie in season to date.
The thumbnail- WTF IS THE VEIL - I read that in Myelin’s screaming voice like when he was looking for Billie on cam that one time and she wasn’t on any. 😂
I think the other way we see strand being related to memory is the the post-campaign for the winterbite exotic. We end up fixing all of the cloudstrider memorials with strand. Part of the quests was doing things to "link" ourselves to the actions and memories of the specific cloud striders
I was doing a Garden of Salvation yesterday and I saw something familiar. Around the last boss chest, there's roots circling the chest, reminding me of the veil.
i like to think that every major Darkness Foe we take down is cleansed and resurected into a seprate dimension by the traveler. the Withness in the end will face Guardians Crota Riven Oryx Rhulk Calus and everyone else. Withness knows of this Place exists and Tries to find it inside the Traveler.
The veil is biggest Mcguffin of all time, that Bungo created for us the guardians to chase around, just like a dog chasing its tail and after a some miracle that we mere moral will never understand, we obtain Strand, a subclass that we need a rocky montage to learn how to use it and 75 percent of the campaign to fully use it and let's not forget that it is also to squeezed 50 bucks out of everyone ( of course, if you didn't preorder and brought the 100 dollar Super dupper Mcguffin package that comes with all the seasonal content). And when it comes to the lore, well... Uhh... The veil is super powerful, over 9000 paracasual energy that everyone even their grandma knows how super important it is, how to use it, how big it is, how connected it is to all the baddies and also it's link to the traveler.
Man, the ending of this vid had me cackling. I like that you pointed out what you learned on your second playthrough of the campaign (thanks for that!) because I'm finding stuff I've missed with the weekly story missions. It's kinda hard to absorb everything when a game throws a ton at you - I'm sorry other creators beat you to the punch, but I am highly appreciative of how thorough you are. Weirdly enough, I found you on twitch first, so this is the first youtube vid I've seen. To anybody who might read this, Myelin is very amusing in twitch streams and not super serious. Also, he has a very cute baby!
I feel like there's more dots to be connected in the conclusion you made, especially because of Savathun's involvement. The Relic on Mars, the anomalies around, Stasis' link to entropy have all show us that Time is in the domain of the Darkness as well as memory. Also, Savathun's Altar of Reflection was created when the Light was brough to her throne world... a Light artefact that allowed us to view memories... I don't have the answers but I'm really hoping Sav makes a return soon to explain it all haha
I understood that the VexNet and the CloudArk are built on the same technology, so I think that would mean there could be some other type of paracausal entity under Vex control. The goal of the Vex is to assimilate worlds, so Neptune is a prime target to attack. It's never really been explained about how the VexNet exists.
Good vid. The more time goes on, the less I believe the Sol Divisive are in any way aligned with the Witness. But otherwise this seems comprehensive to me. A lot of good details that I missed or forgot that help contextualize the story.
We keep hearing the refrain “the line between light and dark is very thin” many times. The veil allows you to cross that line, from the physical to the metaphysical.
So what I'm getting from all these explanations is that Rooster Teeth answered the Veil question years ago when Delta kept saying, "Memory is the Key."
Makes a lot of sense. Also think about how Guardians have no memory when they are first revived. Because memory is not physical so the traveller (whose power is light) has no power over it. Yet life is physical so it can control that.
Hence why I was wondering if we'll see any new guardians resurrected with the Witness inside the Traveler and him unconsciously emitting darkness and sending it to the Ghosts and causing them to be using both Darkness and Light.
W for Asher though, super happy he's still out in the network, hoping that will play out into something after the light and dark saga, i definitely see the vex being tied to the plot heavily going forward after the next dlc, if they arent for some reason roped into being the kind of main enemy faction for the final shape, which idk if would make sense, but we have to see what happens with the lore and the seasons going forward to really speculate too much on that, but still.
You know, I wonder if a reason why each Disciple says “My Witness” is that each have their own perspective on the Final Shape, and each want the Witness to be their “Witness” to their vision of it. Meanwhile, the Witness is one of if not the only ones who knows what it is, and has “Witnessed” it, and is just using the Disciples. It would be a great thematic contrast with the greater theme of unification going on with the Alliance.

I love retroactive continuity.
You a real one Mr. D Matthews. You are one of the only people I know that actually realize that this ACTUALLY ties a LOT of lore together and it IS NOT just a "retcon".
@@RespiteofChampions I mean, it IS a retcon. not every retcon is bad. pretty much everything in star wars is a retcon
Myelin, don't ever hesitate to make a video on a topic that's already been covered by others. You always manage to add something different!
I’m pretty sure the reason the Witness told Calus to destroy the veil was because it wanted Calus and us to fight, which ultimately leads to Calus’s death and our ghost in close proximity to create the link (a being of light, is the link for the artifact of darkness)
The Witness used Calus solely to get us close enough to the Veil so that we kill him and provide a link, 2 birds and 1 stone.
That or the Veil is needed to be able to pursue the Witness. If it is destroyed then he won entirely.
Way to convince me a theory has to be fact. Now I'm always going to assume this is what happened Haha.
The intro on its own deserves a comment, that's funny AF
The Veil is the offspring of the Witness and the Traveler. The Traveler has been on the run, ducking child support. Now, the Witness is here to collect.
ironically their color schemes are reversed
That is one of my theory's too. I think that the veil is a version of the final shape but an imperfect one, possibly formed during the Gardener and winnower's battle at the beginning of the universe. The Witness might want it in order to ensure that they can use it's presence of light to bypass the travellers defenses and maybe use it's darkness to fuse with the traveller.
Whoever edited this spent sooo much time on it, great job!
Best, most u understandablevideo I’ve seen on the veil. Worth watching, well done
The veil seems to be like an extension of the traveler, containing its memories emotions dreams, hence why it is so crucial to the witness’s plan and why the black heart had such a great affect on the traveler
Yeah
crazy theory : the Veil is the incarnation of Gardener/Winnower couple and of their struggle (game flower) in this universe. their fight in the Garden created universes, each one balanced in light and darkness, physical and psychic.., whom frontier is the Veil, which would be both the "DNA" of our universe and the final destination of all its content
Anyone notice how the witness looks like an upside down hour glass. Infinitely pouring up
Easily the best video on RUclips discussing the veil.
@@DUKEzors I'm inclined to believe this since if there was any other kind of connection between the two, Ghost would have shown their next meeting as well when Calus pooped a brick.
myelin games i don’t know if you noticed but in the red war campaign when we have our vision we see the veil connected to something
Thank you for the hard work and effort you put into your videos. You are appreciated.
Saw the thumbnail..got hyped. Let's fucking go Myelin! Get this lore!
*checks date...wait a sec it's not 1st of April. What are you cooking Myelin?
Very interesting, I bet that will be a key component going forward as we learn more throughout the year.
if the Witness has a backstory similar to Rhulk, the first victims are likely to be the Witness' own species.
Yeah, super interesting. I kind of just ignored it for this video because I don't really know what to say about it
@@gackolpz One of Savathun’s “this is the truth” lines from the Altar says the Witness’s species was once chosen by the light but they became insatiable for knowledge.
*”Oh thank the Traveler…”*
-Bungie
Thank you for the video and the explanation. Sir!! you are brilliant!!! I know this must have been a ton of work to put together. You have my gratitude!
You sir are a cornerstone in this community. Love you brotha
Winnower*
Pretty sure the winnower and witness are distinct.
Since the winnower is specifically implied to be the darkness, and they describe the witness as the entity that gives the darkness a wicked shape.
Def the best video on this. Only thing missing is the fungus/egregore connection. So strand is pretty much mushroom powers.
The Witness needed the Veil to regain his memories and pick up where he left off....
that's a good theory, but how would she do that without the whiteness stopping her?
So from what’s stated in the video, and it does make sense, rather then alter the witnesses memory(probably impossible) she altered her own! To scramble her mind in some way maybe? Ultimately keeping this secret for a long time, I think was worthy to wield the light because that sacrifice that was made, making Savathun a guardian completely mostly wiped it from her brain
@@thisgoddamusernamestoodamnlong he forgot to stop her?
Hive guardians and Strand Guardians would made this the new Taken King but they decided it's best to not Over Deliver and just drip feed us the content to another 'expansion'
Neomuna is just a Polished up Titan with sparrows
@@joshuavidrine889 I would wanna believe Savathun would have been good enough at hiding it from Rhulk as well, its not like he had omnipotent vision of the place.
The Vail us the holds the blueprint and the witness is trying to use that traveler to make it real in our reality

This is the best video about the veil I've seen.. it's also the only video about the veil I've seen
Having seen the mushroom theory, byfs, and now yours I’m VERY interested in the connection to the ghosts and the veil.

Good on you! You and your team is always so freaking thorough.
The veil's image is that of a mushroom with the cup inverted and the colours and shapes are amongst those reported by people who consume psilocybin. This combined with all of the actual fungus from last season gives a strong clue about what might have at least in part, inspired the nature of the veil.
Edit: by "colours and shapes" I mean in the veil "portal" that the witnesses made in the traveller and the portal underneath the mushroom shaped facility on Neomuna.
nah, it looks much more like an Eye. Mushroom tendrils grow everywhere, while Veil Tendrils grow in a circle, and retract.
And those colors are the same red kaleidoscope light that was shown when Sundance was killed by a weapon of sorrow. His white light exploded outward, turned to a red kaleidoscope, and then collapsed like a star into nothing.
thank you as always. Very helpful and enjoyable to link it all together
Very good synthesis of what information we have available. Hope you're enjoying your holiday, Matty o7
The thumbnail- WTF IS THE VEIL - I read that in Myelin’s screaming voice like when he was looking for Billie on cam that one time and she wasn’t on any. 😂
We love a Myelin video. Doesn't matter when we get it, so long as we get it
Awesome work Myelin, as always :)
I think the other way we see strand being related to memory is the the post-campaign for the winterbite exotic. We end up fixing all of the cloudstrider memorials with strand. Part of the quests was doing things to "link" ourselves to the actions and memories of the specific cloud striders
finally a lore youtuber plays the osiris pond cutscene. I knew that had something to do with the veil

Strand and Stasis being tied to thought, memory, and information has a lot of interesting connections to physics. Very interesting.

Yep you could have just read a tweet but here we are!
Lmao, dude I watch all your vids anyways! Keep up the great work!
Also, he has a very cute baby!
thanks for making your lore videos constantly aVeilable :)
Great work as usual man - you are appreciated
I feel like there's more dots to be connected in the conclusion you made, especially because of Savathun's involvement. The Relic on Mars, the anomalies around, Stasis' link to entropy have all show us that Time is in the domain of the Darkness as well as memory. Also, Savathun's Altar of Reflection was created when the Light was brough to her throne world... a Light artefact that allowed us to view memories... I don't have the answers but I'm really hoping Sav makes a return soon to explain it all haha
"The Final Shape" will be Guardians wielding the third Darkness subclass. Perfect harmony between tangible and intangible.
Late, as it has become usual in your channel, but good. Very good. Thanks!
This is the best veil video I've seen yet.. thank you..
I understood that the VexNet and the CloudArk are built on the same technology, so I think that would mean there could be some other type of paracausal entity under Vex control. The goal of the Vex is to assimilate worlds, so Neptune is a prime target to attack. It's never really been explained about how the VexNet exists.
Maybe CloudArk turns into VexNet in the future.
Another great video, thanks Myelin.
Good vid.
The more time goes on, the less I believe the Sol Divisive are in any way aligned with the Witness. But otherwise this seems comprehensive to me. A lot of good details that I missed or forgot that help contextualize the story.
The fact that being created by the Traveler itself, you'd think the ghosts would know about its own Momma.
Have been eagerly awaiting this one from the best in the biz
strands are lines of action, the flow from cause to effect. paracausal effects are produced when manipulating the strands with your space magic.
Love the edits docta
W for Asher though, super happy he's still out in the network, hoping that will play out into something after the light and dark saga, i definitely see the vex being tied to the plot heavily going forward after the next dlc, if they arent for some reason roped into being the kind of main enemy faction for the final shape, which idk if would make sense, but we have to see what happens with the lore and the seasons going forward to really speculate too much on that, but still.
Loved it great video! Just facts , really good :)
Good stuff I appreciate all the time and research.
Awesome video. Thanks Myelin
Or its simply just how we say "my liege" or "my queen"
@@TotalXPvideos Could totally be, just thought it could be an interesting double meaning!
