Did you know that research suggests that stalkers are often known by the individual victim?
Stalking is a crime across the United States but how it is defined may vary. It's hard to understand why someone would seek to stalk or harass someone -- much less harass someone who is apart of your family.
There are many reasons for stalking but one main reason is to create fear and gain dominance.
In this video, I discuss and help you explore what a family member, who is stalking you, may look like.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    DISCUSSED IN THIS VIDEO:

Stalkers are unhealthy people. Aside from creating fear and annoyance, they crave control or some kind of position in your world. In this video, I share my story and target what you might have experienced yourself.

You absolutely right Tamara, my family is part of my gangs talking , THEY BLACKLISTED ME , and this all began when I discovered that I was being watched with hidden cameras and later vids being shared and posted. After I started looking for help on how to defend myself legally, the whole community harassment took place in order to make me look like a mental person, conveniently to cover all their bullshit in which they were part of. It was so hard for me to believe but it does exist. I just hope that one day all come out to light and the truth is exposed.

My father has been stalking me for years. He believes as a father, he should be able to act as cruel and abusive, intrusive as he chooses, because he can, he is a man, he is right. I went n/c 3 years ago and had to go in hiding. He still has my phone and email number and has regularly send me disturbing messages to hurt and blame me. I stopped reacting but always realistic fear he will show up one day and do something terrible. I have since been referred to a service for women suffering from family abuse which makes me feel a little bit more empowered. This man abused the women in our family terribly but since I bit back, he made sure to make my life a living hell, and ensure he could always control me. I believe they stalk because they just can't be bothered to love and understand us.

I'm so sorry. That's horrible when this happens to a child from a parent. It's really unheard of to be honest.
It sounds like he is beginning to bully you as he did the other woman in your family. Sadly, these kind of men cannot show love and do not know how. It takes a lot for them to understand the damage they cause.

They do call people that you know or use to know and tell them crazy stories to get attention that you are not giving. They will call your workplace behind your back, friends off you social media, even go through call lists... I know for a fact. They have always done that since I was a pre-teen. That's why ppl should not introduce their partners or friends to family without telling them that the relationship between the family is not good. So they cant keep secrets on their behalf.

I've been gangstalked by some of my own relatives; particularly my cousins. And to this day, I never understood why. What is the purpose to cause me such stress, when you are not getting anything out of it. It's weird. Dark energy thats not wanted. Its like just please leave me alone. To this day; its still occurring... When I bring it up, I am gaslighted, looked as if I am gone crazy. Because it's [online predatory] so it makes it hard to prove. Its just sad all the way around, because it's your own kin not a stranger or coworker. I have to manage to move on by loving them from afar, because to me, they are dangerous for my well-being.

    • @TherapistTamaraHill
      @TherapistTamaraHill  2 года назад +4

This is horrible. I'm sorry to hear that. Interestingly, the "benefit" of stalking to unstable people is control, power, and to see you feeling discomfort. Take hackers, for example. They hack into things for the sheer benefit of getting what they want, driving someone crazy, or controlling their lives. Sometimes they even contact their victims to ensure they understand they are being victimized by someone they cannot see, hear, or even find.
So you are right..."it is hard to prove" and very sad. Boundaries and distance may be the remedy and if you feel yourself doing better without them, you've made the right decision.

I’m being gangstalked too and yes it’s all about control. They think you don’t know but all you gotta do is see who is not acting like they normally do like in my case the person who got me into this mess was nowhere to be seen when the gangstalking started and is a bona fide narcissist. He always baited me into arguments so he could get supply months before the gangstalking began probably to lend credibility to the smear campaign. Now he is desperate for supply and tries to provoke me but you learn their tricks and their tricks are to get you to react so never react. I hope that helps or you can relate

I was being stalked by someone I don't even know. My X-husband used to stalk me too. I told my oldest son first that I was being stalked by someone. At first my oldest son didn't believe me until one day he was with me and saw the guy stalking me. We both ran into a public place. My oldest son apologized to me for not believing me. My brother stalked me, might still do but I'm not sure. I came off social media. Apart from RUclips. He would say things.. like give clues when he spoke to show I knew he had hacked my accounts. Which he did.. He would say things I'd said to others. He knew my phone passwords, no idea how and smirked whilst telling me he knew it. He leave me text messages from fake Internet accounts again talking about things I said when we were in the same room. He would talk hours on end about me to others, who would tell me what he said but I'd brush it off thinking it wasn't true. Until his ex showed me his texts to me too about him Backbiting about me. I guess out of vengefulness but made me also realise how toxic and obsessed he was. And people weren't lying. Telling people I thought too much of myself etc. All untrue. I hate being in the limelight and like a private life. He would tell people I was jealous of him and 'she dies everytime someone compliments me'. Making me out to crave attention when in actuality that was him. It was all in his head but he was the golden child, my mother would often feed to him that I was jealous of him in the hopes that we never stayed close. So I guess some of it was from her. There was a lot of triangulation from my mother too. But as he grew older he started to become fixated about me and my life and who I liked and spoke to etc. I had to cut ties...my therapist said he seemed to have gender dysphoria and was jealous I was female and he couldn't be.. hence his fixation with me

Thank you for a video addressing this. My husband’s family, adult child(ren) an in law or two have had us hacked for almost a decade. The ex wife doesn’t hack she watches and has done the address and mail fraud but.
What started it was the adult children saw he and I was having serious marital difficulties. To make a long story short- we both contributed to problems.
Most of those problems are 4 years in the past and the issues from then are no longer issues. On my end, any problems I contributed to I have completely come clean and there is nothing he doesn’t know and of course, he too has pulled some past stunts.
Now given all that is past, it seems the main issues causing it is insurance money his ex wants for their adult disabled daughter and herself (in the 100’s of thousands). And one adult daughter in particular is displeased bc my husband isn’t giving her the attention she wants and resents it.
I caught on to the hacking and stalking. I have had to file police reports and have evidence of the hackings photoed by police.
There are a couple of certified computer experts in this family.
They believe it is my fault my husband isn’t coughing up all of this money or up his daughters backside. So, they hack it to be privy to it . And, control.
I want absolutely nothing to do with these people. They don’t like that either. I have even had my email, bank card put on the dark web by these ppl and had money taken from my account.
A family member of mine had a similar experience. It’s just insanity and I think they’re psychos . There seems to be a significant narcissistic bent to it as well.
It’s hard to get emotional support bc who wants to talk about this with people? “Well, my husbands siblings, adult kids, in laws and ex are a group of psychos who hack and stalk us.” It doesn’t make for good general conversation.
It has reached the point I’ve caught them sitting in their vehicles in front of our house. One had the cheek to point a cell phone at me on my porch.
I had to file a report on it as well. It would be comical if it wasn’t downright insane.
They won’t call or talk to my husband. They hack and stalk and his daughter is one of the ring leaders.
His entire family, nieces, nephews the whole family is doing it. Be it the actual hacking, watching it done and invading our privacy, sitting in front of our house or showing up places we go.
I have never in my life seen such a family of ppl. Then they wonder why…. I reject any form of any relationship or communication Who wouldn’t?

People are so horrible. I had no idea so many people were horrible until recently. Sorry, not here to be negative but I'm being real about a hard truth I've learned to accept now. I'm starting to accept this reality about the world and now I understand why so many people are in therapy. I hate to say it but as a black woman I truly feel disappointed in my race. Intellectually I know that everyone isn't the same but my stomach turns when I think about people that I call "my people" and how I've personally experienced betrayl and cruelty on a level I never knew before. I'm able to stay grounded in the fact that I know I truly care for people but this is a new feeling that has developed over time and I'm sorry to say that I've lost a great deal of faith in my people. I don't think therapy is the cure for this, I think I need to ask God to send me better people because apparently I was too accepting of everyone and anyone, I took pride in not judging people off the rip, but now it seems I need to do that...which is hard to do when you're self aware and understand that nobody, including myself, is perfect. *sigh*

A younger half sister did this to me through a friend. She got in his Facebook account… sent me a friend request through him. I accepted and she snooped, then immediately unfriended me. I was divorced at the time and this young man was single. I had removed her from my Facebook friends when she was constantly involving herself with everything I posted. An uncle created probably 12 different Facebook accounts searching for me after I blocked him. My whole family are very toxic and narcissistic. I had to remove them to have any privacy in my life. The abuse I endured by many family members was severe. It was shocking and creepy seeing the lengths they would go to to keep tabs on me.
