this dress is gorgeous!! i haven't done a bias cowl neck dress because i dont think it would flatter my hips, and this solves that!! thanks for your video and pattern, you're so cool :)
Just finishing dress - long, sash bow, except we couldn’t turn them so made straps shorter! - for my daughter’s prom (in UK). Fits nicely but had to make some slight size adjustments. She loves it.
just made a muslin.....using this pattern for my daughter-in-laws wedding dress...planning on using a white poly/crepe back....going to look so great!!! ( least hoping:)
Best to always take a break when you get stuck, and write down the steps on a piece of paper you can look at, before getting started so you know where you left off!
@@adric9246 pretty okay, I definitely could have done better but no one really noticed. It was a traditional wedding not the “white” wedding yet so it was okay 👌🏾 everyone liked it at least ☺️☺️
I’m a sucker for a cowl. These turned out gorgeous Kiana. What bust cup do your patterns cater for? I’m a curvy gal, and though I can draft it myself, it’s nice to support other designers!
Beautiful dress, Kiana! Did you happen to make that green tank top with the matching long sleeve top you were wearing at the end of the video? It’s super cute!
Hi! I recently used this pattern to create my bridesmaids dress and I am in love! However, the cowl neck has too much fabric and is sticking out pretty far when viewed from the side. Is there a way to fix this? I am definitely a beginner so not sure how to remedy this! Thank you!!
Hello , I found watching the pink dress was much clearer, the dark colour was hard to see. BUT I want very pleased to see its down. I have never made anything before clothes wise, my daughter likes this style so want to surprise her, she is going to be a bridesmaid at her dads wedding. She does want a cowl for the back as well though, do you have a video of making one that I could attached to the dress? Thank you Sharon UK
I love this so much it's making me want to try sewing clothes for the first time in my life. What level difficulty/experience would you say this pattern is?
Hi Kiana! I'm trying to make your cowl dress and I have a slip polyester fabric with a little bit of stretch kind of similar to the one in your video. Would you have a recommendation on the types of tension settings?
Hi, I’m kinda a new sewer and I have one question. When sewing the facing to the bodice are the steps the same for both the bow strap and criss cross strap?
This dress looks incredibly beautiful. I have my prom coming up soon after my exams and would love to be able to make this but I’ve only sewn a tote bag where the stitching wasn’t straight (probably just need to draw where I need to sew and that should help for now) so I doubt that I’d be able to make this. I might buy some satin and muslin though so I can use the muslin to have a go. In terms of the sizing I would also need to adapt the sizing as I have a wider waist than the pattern. What would be the best way to do that without changing the drape of the fabric in the cowl? As I don’t own a serger, would a zigzag stitch be fine instead?
I'm doing this exact thing with a beginning sewer. She also has only sewn a tote bag, so this is definitely doable at a beginner level, if you have help. If you are going at it solo, I would suggest making it a couple of times in a nice light cotton or drapey rayon (called rayon challis). This will be much easier to work with, and this pattern is great as a summer maxi dress! To answer questions - we added about 3 inches to her pattern at the waist, if I remember, her natural waist measurement is 38". For the top back - we added 1.5", at the back fold line. For the top front - we added 1.5", at the arm side. On the skirt back - we added 1.5", on the fold line On the skirt Center/Side - we added .75", on the side which is sewn to the back. On the skirt Center/Front - we added .75", on the side which is sewn to the back. We shortened the entire bodice by about 1", because she has a shorter torso. What will probably be trickiest - the invisible zipper. Watch a few different tutorials, be patient, and use a zipper foot. =) Oh, and a zig zag will be fine instead of a serger, just play around with the machine settings to see how wide or narrow it should be for the fabric you're using.
Hi Kiana, Can you please assist. At the 9.47 (the part you are holding) mark there is a raw edge that we dont sew, there is no full picture of the dress from the inside once you have completed, and I just can not seem to work out what to do with that part???
It was a great dress and pattern, not disrespecting but for Indian market the pattern price is kinda high, from my POV, I would definitely buy the pattern if it was 5 dollars or 10 dollars, otherwise I can get a full dress like this in 15 dollars here
I haven’t even watched the whole video yet and I just bought it. I love that your pattens are available as A4. All your designs are so pretty 😍

Hi.we like your videos.can we have a video for a winter coat.thank you.😘
This is such a gorgeous pattern. Have you included lines for shortening the pattern at all? I would love to make the maxi with the slit or the midi.
I bought the pattern but how do you make a shorter cowl neck as I want to be a little more modest for my upcoming event
Hi! I am thinking of making this for a wedding, can I add sleeves to this?😅😍

I love this dress soo much! Question, is it a must to have the zip? Can l get away without adding one? Lots of love and thank you for this ❤️
The front and the back bodice do not fit on eacother. Am I doing someting wrong?
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍amazing thnkuuuuuuuuuu
I love this! Do you think I could make it out of crepe scuba knit? Or would it drape a bit oddly?
What program do you use to flat pattern? Can you teach us??

What fabric did you use for the dark red maxi dress? and where did you get it?
Hii Kianna! Is it ok if i use a 18” zipper?
What happens if I want the slit to be on my right leg. Can I make the adjustments?
How do I adjust the pattern if my busy is a couple of sizes smaller than waist/hips?
I can't seem to find the cowl neck dress pattern below or on etsy.
