Question: How do you use the trailer light test function? I can get it to work with the GM app on my phone, but do not see any option on the truck screen to perform such. If you can or want to make a informative video on the process, than would be great.
If your truck is equipped with the Google Radio, which I’m just imagining it is. There is an icon on the radio screen via the home page that says trailering. Be careful because there are several icons and there are multiple pages, your trailering icon might be on page 2 so swipe that Home Screen on the right side of the screen on your finger then swipe it quickly left to pg 2 and you should see it. Hook up your trailering hit that icon then hit start light test from the screen. I’m just guessing that might be why you can’t find it. But, doing it the way you’re doing it from the phone app might actually be the easiest and best way doing it to be honest!
@@troydonovan7822 oh, I can find the icon on 'home" page. But "light test" is not listed under trailing or it is grayed out, I can't remember and I can't go check the truck at this time. But, I don't have a trailer. When using the phone app, which works with no trailer hooked up, the lights do flash in sequence over and over until i stop the test. So, in my mind, the test should work with no trailer when going in trailer icon on the infotainment screen. The problem with using the phone app is, I only have that for 3 years. I have no plans on renewing it. It is a 2024 Silverado LT 1500.

Congrats! Solid video. I have the 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 (6.2L) in red. For full "giddy-up" I use 91-octane + 8oz of race fuel (each, non-ethanol). You can run lower octane, but the 6.2L will roar if you can get the octane up to 93-95 octane (read the section in the owner's manual). The difference is VERY noticeable. Have fun!

Congratulations, Doug. That's a beautiful truck and sounds awesome! I enjoyed watching you race down your driveway so we can hear the sport mode exhaust. Looks like it can really haul arse! Impressive mileage on your 2018 raptor!
Beautiful truck! Im the same way...out of warranty I get rid of them. Been traumatized by electric gremlings and bad transmissions putting fixes in the $5-10k range. Im not handy enough to fix complex stuff and Im very busy at work, the little time I have I want to spend it with my family not fixing a car.
Hey Wait! is this the channel that discusses value for your purchase or up-build??? Guess not, OMG what the heck ~ Wholly Kow! Thanks for keeping the economy going! Good Luck with it and O. I am looking at a 2000 GMC Z71(whatever that means) it has 99,600 miles, gonna be the wood truck to pull the trailers. We will see if the purchase goes through...again Keep it rollin' Go GMC!
Beautiful property. Enjoy the truck. Kind of funny buying a 90K truck at your age because the exhaust sounds cool. Kind of like a 19 year old kid buying the mustang 5.0 back in the day. Enjoy the wheels.
These new trucks are just pretty awesome machines! I currently have a F-150 but I don't really care about the name on the hood thing I think all 4 of the main truck manufacturers here in the US are making incredible trucks
I'm fairly brand agnostic, but I had a 2019 Ford Edge ST. Great vehicle, quick (330HP, 330TQ), and super comfortable, but I did NOT want to be owning it when the warranty ran out. Didn't have any issues with it, but given all the electronics, twin turbos, etc, if something did break you know it would be expensive. About the same time we bought our farm, and it's also not a practical farm vehicle. Traded it for a 2021 Ford Ranger, and went the trade route for similar reasons. It actually took 5 months for them to get the Ranger, as I had to order it for the configuration I wanted. I kinda forgot about until they called me and I was "I ordered a truck? Oh, right, 5 months ago...". Pretty happy with the Ranger, although I miss a couple amenities the Edge had that weren't available on a Ranger.
I come from a GM family and I've always been the black sheep a Ford lover lol. That AT4 does look like a hell of a truck I think fits your needs alot more a better hauler worker truck probably. My truck list went from a 84 F150 to a 97 GMC Sierra then a beat up 2000 Silverado now back to a 95 F150 XLT as my work truck, Wife has a 2017 Ford Explorer XLT and my daily driver is a 2006 Ford Explorer XLT. Had a Dodge between the GM trucks but I refuse to say I owned a Dodge product worst experience I've had lol I'm a Ford guy threw and threw 😆. Loved the video!!
Doug, I get the point about trading in due to the factory warranty. These vehicles are really laid out with all the comfort features but a regular DIY guy ain't gonna be able to fix em! It would be nice if manufacturers would just make a regular truck! Good ole wind down windows with side vents , heater with 3 position fan switch. But that ain't never gonna happen!! Lol But you do have a nice ride! Enjoy!
All these new trucks are really next level, hard to go wrong on a new truck these days! Did he mention you have to have a plan to lock unlock your truck with your phone? That would suck, I use this often with my ford app.
That's a nice looking truck. All those electronics have me concerned about longevity though, especially if driven in a harsh winter climate. Looks like you're enjoying it already.

Nice choice Doug, now Adam will say neighbour Doug is on the road again. Now you can have some American Graffiti fun at stop lights. Like you mentioned you’ve opened up some new capabilities with this Truck that will add Smiles to your Neighbour Doug Skills as you travel the Miles. 😀👍👍👍
Absolutely beautiful truck Doug, wishing you many happy miles and smiles 😊 your so lucky in the states to have such beautiful large trucks unlike here in Ireland .
Perfect choice, you should develop a Doug version of a semiautomated undercarriage wash so you can drive your truck year round in any condition. Could use to clean equipment also, I would if I lived in the rust belt. I hate using a truck as a daily driver as well, complete waste of resources but nothing replaces the capability of a truck. My trucks have always had a hitch ball on 24/7 and that's mostly what I use them for. I generally don't buy anything newer than 8-10 years old because at 10 years and older registration and insurance drastically decreases where I am. You were definitely gambling keeping that Ford longer than 5 years even with the low mileage.😂
I bought a new Denali Ultimate recently. I got the LZ0 though. Not like I had a choice at the time it was the only Ultimate I could find within 100 miles. Not sure I shouldn't have just got the 3/4 ton. I didn't know a 3/4 ton Ultimate existed when I got mine. I do already have another crew cab 8 foot 3/4 ton though and the 1/2 tons ride so much nicer for an everyday truck. I really like the LZ0 though. Crazy fuel mileage. When I run back and forth to home in SC to the other house I am at right now which must be pretty close to you since Titusville is pretty damn close to here. I got on average 35mpg on the 2 long trips I have taken from up here to back home or home to up here whatever. I have got as high as 40mpg. Actually thinking about maybe replacing my 19 Suburban with a new High Country Suburban, Yukon XL Denali Ultimate, or the Suburban length Escalade with the LZ0. I think in 24 they will have the LZ0 at least pretty sure 23 still had the LM2.
If I ever drop my 350, GMC is one my front runners. The column shifter is a requirement for me in my trucks though. If I'm reaching for the console to shift, it better be manual.
Own a 23 AT4X. You will LOVE your GM! I had orginally Ordered a 22 Raptor G3, but when FORD started deleting features, I cancelled and ordered an AT4X. Absolutely love mine. The Off road capability has served me well, and it rides like a dream on the pavement too!
What an upgrade! Nice truck just don't understand why they have to have such a short bed, but of you have a trailer its not a problem. Trucks came a long way
If you go to the dealership its like 90% crew cabs with the shorter beds. I prefer the double cabs with the bigger bed. It's an testament of trucks being used less for work.
You can still get the 6.5 foot bed with a crew cab but you will most likely have to order it. Rarely do you see them on the lot at dealerships. Some of it depends on which trim you buy too. I have the Denali Ultimate and the only options you really have to pick from is paint color and 6.2 or LZ0 Duramax. Everything else comes standard and they all come with the shorter bed and crew cab. If I got a High Country though I could have got the 6.5 foot bed and I could have got I think 3.73 if you get the max tow package. I like the interior of the Ultimate better one of the main reasons I bought the one I did.
I’ve got the standard bed on my Sierra, and I could never pick a short bed truck again. I got lucky as I found mine new sitting on a lot in Wyoming. No parking sensors to go bad, but I still got the rear sliding window and heated and ventilated leather with dual zone climate and no dynamic fuel management from factory and I absolutely love it!
Best of luck with the new Jimmy. I would have liked to see the adjustable seat for Autumn. I know your going to be the one who uses the truck the most but, it's nice to see if there other features also. Also, anything underneath like suspension? Best Wishes. 🤠
Do you really need a separate data plan to run all the tech stuff, or can you use the hotspot feature from your mobile service on your phone to 'feed' the built-in apps/features of the infotainment system??
I believe you only need it for the maps feature which is BS. It used to be free with the truck. I will not be paying for it. My phone can do the same thing with maps and I already pay for that.I will not be paying for XM radio either….
New technology in nearly 6 years is nice, like the charger but forward camera especially when you can’t see over the bonnet. I love the look of your Ford Rapter 2018, I’m sure you’ll miss it....😊 I. Sure the Dealer will make good money on your 2018 Raptor🧐 $20,000 extra sounds great but only 3 year warranty is a bit low, they don’t see:to back their vehicles and you’ll be in the same position in 3 years than 5.😢
How are you loving the AT4? Still loving it? I have a 24 SLT 6.2. Regretting trading off my 23 3.0 diesel in some ways but loving the 6.2 in other ways. Do you run premium in it? Just wondered how you feel 1 yr later.
How do these AT4 hold up with city driving (3.0 vs 5.3)? My commute is a maximum of 10 miles, but is 100% city. I currently own a 2023 Tundra (8,500 mi). I love the truck, but the premature engine failures have me concerned. Dealers aren't even accepting 22/23 trades because of the issue and toyota dealerships can't sell impacted inventory until their is a fix. I bought the extended warranty because i planned to have this 15 years but not if an engine blows!
Not sure on the city driving. I don’t do much of it here. I guess like any vehicle and the manufacturer, sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you get a bad one. Good luck! I haven’t heard about the Toyota engine problems. I’ll have to look into that.
Have you tested the 2024 silverado? Is there a road noise difference between silverado and sierra? Id get a RST because its a little cheaper but id prefer a quieter vehicle
Thank you for the business once again Doug, it was a pleasure and lot of fun going over your new GMC Sierra AT4 with you!

Sweet looking ride ,love it sounds awesome!
9000lb payload? Holy cow, thats amazing!
Tow capacity. Payload is less than 2000 lbs.
Wish you all the best with the new truck doug
So can u find out if theirs any custom parts on the new FallGuy truck for fall guy the movie comes out in may
Shoulda bought it in 3.0L! Also you bought their BEST color. Love the Tit Rush!!
My next truck. I am waiting to find a nice used one.
Congratulations 🎉
Good looking truck Doug. Sounds good too.
Best of luck with the new Jimmy. I would have liked to see the adjustable seat for Autumn. I know your going to be the one who uses the truck the most but, it's nice to see if there other features also. Also, anything underneath like suspension? Best Wishes. 🤠
Beautiful truck, i have a 1500 SLT, but can't afford the new truck payments. lol
I have a 2021 Denali. I've been thinking about going to look at new AT4s.
I like the 1500 Denali ultimate that has the Vader chrome and white.
I love the 3.0L LZ0 DuraMax! 30% better MPG than 6.2L and diesel is $0.30-0.40/gal cheaper than 93 octane!
He gets 3 years of mobile hotspot
New technology in nearly 6 years is nice, like the charger but forward camera especially when you can’t see over the bonnet.
I love the look of your Ford Rapter 2018, I’m sure you’ll miss it....😊
I. Sure the Dealer will make good money on your 2018 Raptor🧐
$20,000 extra sounds great but only 3 year warranty is a bit low, they don’t see:to back their vehicles and you’ll be in the same position in 3 years than 5.😢
Holy shit. 9000 lbs payload on a 1500? That’s a record for sure!
Most definitely doesn’t have a 9,000 lb payload. Towing capacity is around that. Payload is less than 2,000 lbs.
@@AB-coyote thanks captain obvious
Me with my 23 f-150 I got in august already at 5k miles 😅
I’ll keep my TRX ! , no pano ceiling ? I like the AT4 though
How are you loving the AT4? Still loving it? I have a 24 SLT 6.2. Regretting trading off my 23 3.0 diesel in some ways but loving the 6.2 in other ways. Do you run premium in it? Just wondered how you feel 1 yr later.
Still enjoying it! Yes I run premium 93 in it.
Can you do a video where you set up a camera in/on your trailer then haul it all the way to Hometown Acres' place? Asking for a friend...
Lol
Congrats pretty truck
Thank you!
love that truck!!!
Nice truck, but I don't know of any circular saws that would work on 400 watts!
They don't actually power tools they are only good for charging batteries and stuff. If you hook a saw up to my F-150 it kicks the breaker immediately
Mis info there on my part! Maybe battery back charge up for a little hand held one!
You are going to have mad neighbors!
Also Authorities are putting cams to detect decibel of noise.
Do you have a little shooting range on your property? That would be badass. Looks like you got tons of space and privacy for one
Great Truck Doug. You're gonna love that 6.2 !!!! And You can have Your man card back, now that you're Fordless. Lol.
You got that right!
Have you tested the 2024 silverado? Is there a road noise difference between silverado and sierra? Id get a RST because its a little cheaper but id prefer a quieter vehicle
Sorry, I didn’t road test the Silverado.
Nice review on the AT4. You ever consider checking out a Tundra? You may enjoy the reliability of a Toyota.
Toyotas are trash. Tundra is so behind and nobody wants a hybrid.
@@wint_62you’ve probably never even owned a Tundra
These new Tundras haven't been as reliable as the previous generation.
Very nice truck!
I thought you had jeeps? I drive a gladiator 2021. Got any info to share on jeeps?
I do have a well built Jeep JL Rubicon I did back in 2020. I have not done any videos on it at this point. Both my sons own Jeep JL’s as well.
