  • My day didn't go as well as planned! Firstly my train from Chester was half an hour late, so I missed the arrival of the railtour and secondly, it turned into a very wet afternoon..
First seen are class 20's D8096 and D8107 ,having arrived at Llandudno with 'The Jolly Slateman 'railtour. Meanwhile on the opposite platform class 37, D6851 'Flopsie' is stabled, having detached ,and followed the charter from LLandudno Junction.
The 20's then reverse out of the station and run round, ready to push back in later.
Finally the 20s leave for Derby, followed shortly by the 37, which will re-join the train at the Junction.

Thanks Marie. It was atmospheric, not all that cozy though 😂, and no where to get a hot drink. 😢

In the 60s as a train recorder for British Railways,I barely gave these a second glance. I think they were on the mineral freight, maybe around the Toton Nottingham area. Now they are 'Stars'.

Yes, it was just detached between Llandudno jn. and Llandudno, as the platform at Llandudno wasn't long enough.

I remember seeing 40145 at east lancs railway in Bury Manchester in august 2015 it was in large BR Livery at that time I thought it was a class 37 at first as the class 40s was never in this livery in the British rail days Google it 40145/d145 that confused me at first sight until I seen the number close up as I was passing on the metrolink tram! Good day out at east lancs railway.

@@philclarke3203 i used to see loads of 40s and class 76s on guide-bridge sidings as a kid in the early 1980s and the sound was awesome when 3 class 40s was chatting away to each other I was only 9 but best days ever for spotting stuff! Now it's boaring unless you go to crewe.
