I bought a Stihl FS-76 back in 1993 and its never failed me yet.I bought it with the automatic feed head on it and when it gets too short,it automatically feeds the .095 line out to the proper length without stopping the engine at all.Its been so dependable Tayrl that the spark plug lasted up till just this past fall.(24 years of trimming 14 acres of property)
I use Amsoil 2-cycle oil in it mixed 80-t0-1.(2.0 ounces to the gallon)

Father had a weedeater brand trimmer. Took care of it. Emptied the fuel out of it after every use ran it out of fuel. Had it for like 10 or 12 years. Just died last season

I like Echo in general. I've got a trimmer, backpack blower and the "Timberwolf" chainsaw which easily keeps pace with my Stihl. Echo makes good stuff...probably not as heavy duty as some of the Stihl...but then again, they're half the price for an almost equivalent tool in some cases.

Hi Taryl i have this trimmer myself and i love it it's like a handheld lawn mower i use .105 ECHO black diamond line and VP fuel mixed with red armor oil. I highly recommend this trimmer to anyone we have Johnson grass around here i use .130 line for that

Bought a Shindaiwa T-260 some 25 years ago, still runs great as of yesterday. I did have to rebuild carb, and also put on a line head same as the echo comes with. That echo looks nice. I believe my trimmer costs at the time around 450.00, hated to pay so much, but now 25 years later Im glad I did. What do you think about small 12 inch gas Echo chain saws, I need to carry it with me into the trees. Stilh used to have a great, small one , Now they sell one thats seems not as good, tho I like and have alot of there equipment.

STEVE ROB go to your nearest lawnmower shop they'll have it. If not somebody will and they usually have the different nuts and spacers inside the packet but you must get the correct directional one for your machine which is just either standard or reverse thread inside.

Echo has been around a long time. They have always made good stuff. Best kept secret in the industry. They have, at times, led the industry in engine research and development. They run for a long time and very clean, for a two-stroke. Simple construction too; for ease of service. There are a lot of other machines too, but for economics, they're pretty hard to beat.

Nice Whippa Snippa !! nice whippa snippa, nice whi...... Hey it's the ECHO....lol.Hey, can anyone tell me the right way to load up cord on a Stihl FS 55 RC? I borrowed it from my Dad, last week, it has this auto feed bullshit, I'm not sure how to reload cutting cord onto the twin spool. It tells you the direction, that's ok, but it has a wire bail on each side that I'm not sure about. First attempt, the cord just flew out and vanished,,,lol.

I have one, junk. Trigger grip is horribly uncomfortable, trigger itself hard to pull, throttle hangs wide open sometimes, heavy for a 25cc trimmer, pull rope is extremely hard to pull, has cheap chinese carburetor, fasteners are all cheap and corrode quickly, knobs on air filter are a pain to access and there are two instead of one, has flimsy cable drive instead of steel. If used in hard commercial environment, (such as myself,) it will eat a spark plug or two every season.
Redmax, Husqvarna, and Maruyama all offer lighter, more comfortable, more powerful, better quality trimmers at the same price point.
The FS94 Stihl is lighter and much more comfortable, about the same amount of power as the 2620, it is only marginally better in build quality. While Stihl has better plastics and fasteners, it uses the same chinese carburetor.
