    Just went out and bought this trimmer a couple days ago based on your review of it and dude, this thing womps man. Super impressed. Going from an srm225 to this is like going from a civic to a gto. It's only a tad heavier than the 225 but has so much more power. Thanks for your help man! Guys like you that do these reviews help guys like me that research for weeks before buying something.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 лет назад

      Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. Glad it helps. I’m like you and research everything I buy until I’m blue in the face and have literally scoured the internet for everything I can find on that purchase. People think that because I get some products for free that it will be biased. Nothing could be further from the truth. It’s more like companies better bring their “A” game if they want stuff reviewed because I know what it’s like to spend your hard earned money and do all the research to make sure you get the right product. Congratulations on your new trimmer. Make sure you use the echo red armor oil if you can. That stuff is awesome and will make your trimmer run like new for years. I used my trimmer now for two and a half seasons with no issues at all. Haven’t even done any maintenance on it. Didn’t change the air filter or spark plug. Still the originals, and I use the 87 octane gas but I’ve always used the red armor. Thanks for watching.

      @@LawnCareBusinessSuccess thanks for the reply! Yeah, I've used red armor religiously in all my machines. I just buy the whole premix bottle. Little expensive but it's convenient and I only do 2 yards. And I come to this channel specifically for unbiased reviews, I can tell it's sincere. All this time later and it's still running great, that's awesome man. As for line, what's worked best for you? I'm really digging black diamond.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 лет назад

      I’d say the black diamond is the best I’ve used so far in terms of having the best balance of features. It cuts the best, creates little vibration and lasts comparably as long as some other lines. The gatorline square I’ve used in the past was my previous favorite. It cut nice but created lots of vibration. It was tough line though. Lasted a long time but it also hurt a lot more if you got hit buy a broken piece.

    Good information, I noticed a 1.62 gear reduction on the srm2620aa (Home Depot) priced 100 more than the SRM225 that I currently use. I find the 225 lacks power in tough grass and is very fuel efficient to use mowing in the rough. The SRM225 has been a great trimmer the past two years. People tell me STIHL is better but when I priced out a comparable model, its more expensive and the 4-Mix engines require additional maintenance.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  4 года назад +2

      Stihl is better is a myth. I’ve used Stihl for 10 years in my business and the 4 mix engines were a pain. Constantly needed valve adjustments. All the echo trimmers are made in the USA with Japanese engines. Quality through and through. Been using echo now since the beginning of 2017 and have done almost zero maintenance except for recently cleaning the spark arrestor screen. Still original spark plugs and air filters and I only use regular grade gas. Always starts, always works, used everyday in my business. Thanks for watching.

I use only the Red Armor fuel and is more than strong enough for me. I don't know any thing about the other models but the T is pretty good. The bogging is just the result of using a standard two stroke and meeting EPA compliance. As said a simple carb adjustment is all that's needed to eliminate this issue. Also you have to look hard at the advertising (which baffles me) to find the reason for the lower weight compared to the next step down in the Echo line....the crankcase is magnesium not the cheaper and heavier aluminum found in others. Also worth noting is an excellent two stage air filter.

      Oh same here. It’s Stihl everywhere. They are very aggressive about their marketing and painting a picture that because you can buy some echo products at home depot that makes them junk. Guess what there are two levels of equipment residential grade and pro grade just like Stihl. In fact all Stihl residential grade equipment is indicated by the predominantly grey plastic housing as opposed to the orange on the pro stuff. But you can only buy their residential grade equipment at dealers. Does that make it better than echo. Not a chance. In real world use their pro equipment does not even compare to echo in terms of reliability. I know because I use to run all Stihl pro equipment. But people buy into the marketing. Even the dealers. I had my dealer tell me that echo is junk and all made in China. I told him no it’s not I’ve been to the echo factory in Chicago 3 times and have seen the products being built. What they don’t tell you is that if the dealer dedicated say 80% of their store to display Stihl vs the other brands they get incentives.

    I hope you and/or some with experience with the Echo 2620/2620T can answer my questions. I'm very interested in the Trimmer, and was ready to pull the trigger on getting two of the units, but it was brought to my attention that users can adjust the carburetor without removing it and removing a screw that prevents adjusting... ???
    I'm not a Lawn Care professional, I'm a wildlife biologist and would need the trimmers to maintain fields where I have Bluebird Nesting Box Runs and footpaths to other Nesting Boxes in the field. Not being able to make adjustments in the field to the carburetor (low & high and idle) is a major negative and possibly a deal killer. I work in places with differences in altitude and being able to adjust the carburetor is important. Is there a way to make to make it possible to make adjustments without taking things apart?
    I would appreciate feedback. Thank you.

    I’m late to the party here but watching the clips of it running I’d say the carb needs an adjustment. It shouldn’t be “four stroking” under load. The long warm up complaint also makes me suspect it’s running a bit lean but without having it in my hands I couldn’t tell you for certain. It will likely have a fair amount more power once the carb is set properly.

      @@LawnCareBusinessSuccess I'll agree they do like to warm up, but it should be rippin even in the big weeds I'd think. Not bashing them at all, have several pieces of Echo equipment myself and love them all. Thinking about making my next trimmer a Husqvarna though just to try 'em out.

    It's a carburetor engine. Totally normal to not ramp up speed instantly when not yet warmed up.

    Also we prefer Echos cause no valve adjustments to deal with and they are way less maint then stihl our stihls man after the third and fourth adjustments they never run right again i have 4 fs 90 just sitting in my garage cause off no power.

      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  7 лет назад +2

      Victor Rippe I agree. The valve adjustments are a pain. So it’s nice that the echo trimmers have no valves. I feel like I’m constantly having to adjust valves on the other brand.

      Lawn Care Business Success Yes man now im saving money in maintenance no more expensive oil that stihl requires on the 4mix just regular echo oil and echos are more fuel efficient ive seen the savings big time.

      I have a 12 year old FS90R but has been residential use since new and not run very hard. It was my grandfathers originally. I don't want to call it a piece of crap but it's been through 2 ignition coils, 2 carburetors, fuel lines, filter, air filter and spark plugs of course. Valves go out of adjustment every 10 or so hours. Starts 3-5 pulls cold and its just sort of lost its low end torque to get the head spinning fast from idle like it used to. It's the hardest thing to adjust the carb on I've ever seen. One minuscule little area in the high and low for it to run just right otherwise it runs like crap. I grew up beating on Echo weedwackers and never had to do hardly anything to them except for a tune up every 5 years or so and grease the flex shaft every other year to keep vibrations down. I won't be buying a Stihl to replace it when it dies, that's for sure!
      I sold my 9 year old SRM230 last year that I had purchased new that had 3-4 times the use of this FS90R and I flat out abused it, and it never gave me a seconds worth of trouble!

      Can’t get any easier and trouble free than this echo srm-2620. The machine has been great. No issues at all, and the speed feed 400 trimmer head is the best in the industry. Line up the arrows, put your string through the holes and pull out the other side until you have a even length on both sides, then twist the trimmer head parts to wind the line. Super simple. Refill your line in 2-3 minutes max. Thanks for watching.

    seems to me the only reason someone would need a full disclosure disclaimer is to say "i've been paid to say i like this product or service when i really don't like it or use it."
    and in answer to the top comment: i run the srm280 ( with black diamond line ), and my back up is last 2 or 3 year's 266t.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  7 лет назад

      Actually the disclaimer is to be upfront and honest that I didn’t pay for the machine. Take it for what it’s worth. My reviews are always my honest opinion. Look at all my reviews. I’m always honest with what I don’t like about any product. Thanks for watching.

    • @Pure_KodiakWILD_Power
      @Pure_KodiakWILD_Power 7 лет назад

      the reason for your disclaimer is clear enough when you made it. my point is, lately it seems like youtubers are pressured by certain kinds of viewers to make disclaimers in the first place about how they're given products by companies to review, rather than just doing an honest review, and viewers can take it or leave it. it feels defensive. but anyway, if disclaimers are your thing, more power to you.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  7 лет назад +1

      kodiak wild ok. Thanks for clarifying. I think of it more like if I did the review first and you learned that I got the product for free at a later date that people would find that deceptive. My hope is that by being upfront and saying I got it for free first and then clearly my review points out the negative aspects regardless of how big or small they are it becomes clear that it is a honest review.
