- If you've never played a real National Resophonic instrument, you should definitely put that on your bucket list. It's an experience like no other. This particular specimen is a 1934 Duolian that was recently resorted by Carter Vintage in Nashville. It belongs to my good friend Rick who was kind enough to let me babysit it for a while. It's strung with heavy gauge flatwounds, has gobs of patina, and was well loved over the last 87 years. It plays like butter and has the sound for sure. The tune is an old chestnut from the Robert Johnson songbook, although I play it in open E tuning.
If you dig this stuff, you’d probably like the band I play in called Skydog. Please check us out at www.skydogtribute.com and like us on Facebook at / . You can also find me on facebook here: / brianwilliewilliams - Видеоклипы
I’m glad I found your channel
Nicely done...
Jeezzum...this channel is a gift that keeps on giving. I would trade a vital organ for a 30's National. And....just realizing that you are also Skydog...Skydog is you, your gig. So, guess I've been a fan from afar for a little longer than I realized.
Perfect vibrato.
This is outstanding! 1934!
Excellent! Love it. More resonator blues!

Yo Willie! I need your help on a tune/tone issue. Happy to pay you if you can help me out. Not sure how to reach you direct. And please bring Skydog to Savannah or the SC low country soon!!

Hey Dude, is the band still intact? Hope you’re still enjoying the slide!
Hey man. Yes, band is still intact although in a bit of a Covid hiatus at the moment. Hope to get cranked back up as soon as possible. Still enjoying the slide, matter fact used it in this video.
@@VirtualWoodshed 😎 Cool
