    Impressive stuff!
    As an all-rounder I would probably go with the ‘DCD 796’.
    Having the ‘DCH 133’ in the toolbox is also an important addition, especially for those tuff difficult situations.
    Thanks for the demos, always nice to see what the machines can do!
    Really enjoyed it

    Great to have such an interesting review by local guys - well done. For me balancing overall performance against price and possibly ergonomics the DCD 796 is hard to beat. The DCD 709 is small and ergonomically very attractive. If I owned both I can see that for 70% of what I do I will grab the 709 especially if I have to bend down and get into awkward places. Sadly the DCD 776 has been eclipsed by newer technology although if value for money is a major concern then it is STILL a sensible option especially if you can buy a gently used one from guys upgrading of at a discount from stores shedding old stock.

    Thanks for the review guys. Would be good to know what settings used for each. Isn't it true that Slower speeds have higher torque on these drills.. which is better for drilling steel? Keep up the reviews 👍

    Pretty good review, but for future reference, you should use the same battery on each tool. Higher Ah batteries actually output more power on full charge than smaller Ah batteries.

    • @CIBTV
      @CIBTV  3 года назад

      Thanks, we will do that next time. We wanted to test them with the standard Ah battery that normally comes with the drill. But we will do another test with the same size battery soon.

    I have a 777, and it outperforms the 708 all day long, but it’s a little bigger and heavier.
    Bigger body equals bigger fan equals less heat buildup.

    Thanks guys, very informative reviews. I'm a DIY-er and retired electrician, for a number of years I've owned a dcd776 which came with 2 x 1.3Ah batteries, one of which is starting to fail. So I've been looking to purchase another Dewalt drill kit with 2 batteries, and after watching your video have decided to go for the dcd709.
    Many thanks for your review.

    Great review guys. So nice to watch South African people doing these reviews. My pick would be the 796. The 996 is way too big for my not so big hands. 5ah dewalt batteries lasts for hours.

    I have the 796 at home. I have wood and concrete construction so I need the heavy output. But with so many small projects I need the less power, you can dial it down and the drill weight makes controlling it a breeze.

    Please also you do the same tests, but use the exact same battery on all. The entry 776 is way under rated. I have 2 of them that has been put through it’s paces on our construction sites. Co-incidental also bought a Milwaki at more than double the price and was surprised how well the 776,s did. In hind site 2 x 776 would have served me better.

  • @flyerh

    If you want to really scientific you need to look at the amp consumption for each model for a given application.The reason for that is if you for example use the same battery fully charged, how long will that battery last before charging. It’s all well and good a particular drill drilling through steel in a shorter time than a cheaper drill but how many holes can it drill before charging.After all said and done if you are a professional, you need maximum endurance over time to drill a hole etc.

    709 is amazing. I know it lacks in power but it’s not supposed to be powerful. It’s supposed to be brushless and light weight. It has a perfect balance where if you hang it on your finger from the trigger area it sits exactly level for drilling. Extremely beneficial for ladder work

    hello good video, of all those models I have the dcd 776 and I have used it a lot and I find it excellent in metal work and screwing in wood and metal to make drilling I feel that it is very good in metal and wood, but in concrete drilling bad if it is good for brick... or not very hard walls, I think that each tool is for something specific, for concrete it is the rotary hammer... I also have the dcd 778 without carbons and that if I find it more powerful... Kind regards from Santiago de Chile...

    Atomic stands for hobby the 996 is a good machine but the 998 will do the trick if you want to combination go for the 999 you get to hate and power battery and a charger to go with not to mention a carry bag for all that almost forgot the dcd998 and 999 have 29% more power than the 996 Unfortunately they have a 5% higher drain on the battery which is probably why they come with an 8 Amp Hour battery one more warning 2796 has a light frame it will break on you the drill is too powerful for the plastic case that they wrapped around it

    • @apa7611

      On 796 that’s for sure or the model with out the hammer drill broke one of them

    • @barretharms655
      @barretharms655 2 года назад

      @@apa7611 yeah I totally blew it with the 998 in the 999 being the same tool they're not the 998 is the XR and a 999 is the flex and as far as I can tell the 20 V Flex is a really bad hammer drill because the flexvolt battery will destroy the tool eventually I don't have anything that uses a flexible anyways so I'm good with my purchase of the 998 and if they end up making a 6-volt flat-pack I might decide to revisit that but right now I am using two batteries a day with my hammer drill why turn it into why would I want to buy eight flat packs to do the same job

    What a stupid video! To be a fair test you have to use batteries with the same amperage in all drills.

    • @CIBTV
      @CIBTV  3 года назад +6

      Hi, we were testing with the battery that is sold with the drill. The amperage would only influence the runtime, but not the power or torque. We were not testing for runtime.

    • @osvaldogarcia3812
      @osvaldogarcia3812 3 года назад +1

      that also didn’t sit right with me

    • @sizif717
      @sizif717 2 года назад +2

      @@CIBTV That is simply not true. Amperage affects power on those machines. Maybe not on all applications, but definitely on the thicker holes and screws. And there is no point of sticking to the batteries in the kits, because those are just your kits, there are numerous kits and battery options that this machines are sold around the world with. Nice review otherwise though. But you should say the setting each test is conducted with.
