Let me teach you the process of Arranged Marriage 1. Lots of photos are showed to the Guy and Girl - this is the first stage of rejection 2. If the guy and girl like the photo, next stage is Checking the zodiac compatibility 3.if both the people like each other in photo and their zodiac compatability happens, now they will agree to meet directly and here the next rejection happens 4. Final stage is both the families should be liked ie the family should be a respectable one, here too rejection happens. 5.if all these things happen then the so called ARRANGED MARRIAGE happens
Right, the end goal down the road is always gonna be getting married, getting a good job, and having kids. So why not find someone who is ready to do that? The thing is its a whole different world from being someones girlfriend or boyfriend to being their wife or husband. some people are not ready for that and it ends in a divorce. Not trying to prove arranged is better but if look at the statistics, 4% of arranged marriage end in divorce compared to 35% of love marriages.

I still find arranged marriages interesting. I have an Indian friend who was forced into the arrangement (she’s quite submissive and accepted it easily) but I have a friend who didn’t want any arranged marriage unless she knows them for a specific amount of time. I also heard of my other friend’s sister (Pakistani) who got introduced to a candidate (idk how to explain 😂) and after getting to know each other, they decided to be married. A lot of them (like my parents) find love along the way, and stay in love for a longer time. It's all about the choice of staying and making the marriage work that makes it last so long :) hope that helps! Divya Sasidharan Not every arranged marriage is abusive. And on the same vein, love marriages aren't necessarily wonderful either. My own cousin is undergoing divorce with a man who she married out of love and who ended up cheating on her and also physically and mentally abused her. So yes, I do agree, especially in the rural areas it is hard to get out of an abusive marriage for various reasons. But you'll also see many women who stay in abusive relationships in the west.
Arranged marriage is like Indian family tinder or Tinder for Nerds. your parents give you options, and you choose with whom you wanna go on dates with, and if you both agree..... Yayy!!!!!!!
The couple provided a lot info about how arranged marriage in India works and they were also enjoying the conversation. So I guess the caption is perfect
They used to be forced before our generation My parents didnt even get see each other before marriage My grandparents just randomly choose them and got them married They literally saw each other at the day of marriage 😂😂 Isnt it funny
@@quickknowledge2462 yeah although, but it isn't like that anymore 😐 why are people still acting like they are forced to marry eachother in arranged marriages, it's changed now, people can choose who they want and don't want
I don’t understand this concept of ‘love-arranged’ marriage that a lot of people talk about. If you are in ‘love’ then you already know each other. Then how is it ‘arranged’? By ‘arranged’ people actually mean ‘approved’ by parents. It is this filmy misconception that most people have that just because a couple fell in love then the parents won’t approve. And only marriages arranged by parents are approved by them. Not everyone’s parents are so small minded. Most love marriages happen with the blessing of the parents.
Charles Miller that's only partially right that's a real thing in some states . Otherwise it's done to ensure your family gets up in the social chain but most of the times it depends on the money most of the time
That 90% arranged marriages in India was a bit too much. Everyone in my family had love marriage even my grandfather who is 92yo right now had love marriage. And the rate of arranged marriages is constantly declining.
Lazy Dreamer I agree. Wish my parents knew me on some of the deepest levels, enough to chose my mate. My name is Julie Starks and I approve arranged marriages.
That's the most bullshit thing. the reason why love marriages fail is because the couple have not understood each other completely Its just about how you understand each other
Aarya Singh That apu accent is clearly an exaggerated version how the west thinks how Indians talk. But in fact nobody talks like that. In any part of india. I have never heard anyone with that exaggerated accent lol. But I guess it’s for comedy purposes.
PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND "ARRANGED MARRIAGE" DOES NOT EQUAL TO "FORCED MARRIAGE" It's just like a dating website, but instead with middle aged women setting you up!
I don't understand why some Indians here make such a fuss over her saying, " we're from Chicago." The question was ,"Where are you from?" and not ," which country are you from?" or ,"where were you born?" 4:57 I don't think anyone marries for 'spiritual upliftment' They are one nice couple!
Stereotypical Indian American: engineer, arranged marriage with a stranger, bad at sports obsessed with grades . Me : banker , in a live in with a Puerto Rican American, was a high school jock ( baseball and basketball because i was a terrible football player) and obsessed with money
80-90%, that’s accurate..considering the fact that there are 1 billion indians in india. Most marriages in India are arranged. Accept it lol. Plus some parents are starting to become open to the idea of a love marriage as long the guy/ girl comes from a good family/caste, good job, wealth etc.
That was an excellent interaction! And people even love marriages mostly are arranged. Its mostly a site, an app, a friend who mediate and hook you up. In present generation in India and especially if the individual is educated to travel to India, arranged marriage is not forced. Girls and boys these days do give many profiles a pass. And yes parents do make excellent effort for most marriages. Only change am hoping is people start marrying out side their community to allow much more mix off springs.
The guy was unable to express it well, hence the girl was trying to support the conversation to go forward. I can say, things are different in urban or metro cities, thanks to exposure to internet, smart phones, and working in multi national companies, travelling to overseas have considerably changed the scenario of stereotype ' arranged marriages ', but surely most of the Indian kids takes approval from the parents, both the families meet, and get married, many inter-racial marriages are happening, Indian parents have started accepting the changes and becoming liberal, in rural areas, still the arranged marriage custom is followed, and overall 80% marriages are successful in India, Indian people are generally more emotionally attached with their spouses or partners, and children becomes the weakest and strong link in both ways to keep the marriage strong, by not letting go easily to the courts. 🙏👍👏
This was hilarious haha Glad that people are (slowly, but surely) learning more about Indian culture, and seeing that arranged marriages are not forced, and more like online dating or being set up/introduced by a family member or friends
My marriage was arranged. But that was the most beautiful, sacred thing that happened to me . Romance started with no ifs or buts. The trust and warmth between us was on a different level. There is some charm in it when we know that parents blessings are involved!! ❤️❤️ The best part is grandparents always want to spend time with their grandchildren and always are strong unit of family.
I agree with you 100%. I dont think I would have had any better person than my better half. And as the families are in the same wavelength its so happy to see our parents respecting each other. Our generation loved our parents, looking them so happy gives me everything in my life and also I got the best partner
Homar De La Torre People who talk about such things are backward, economically troubled and very less qualified or may be illiterate. You will find many in small backward towns.
@Vijay Surya okay so if that's the thing let me tell you, i guess it's your wife who's living with you just because she has to follow her "duties" otherwise society, because i don't think so any girl would want to live with a guy who's as judgy as you're so technically that's your case and the guy in the show is way successful than you cuz he has established a life outside this country from root level and falling for thick hair, thick skin or whatever nonsense qualities you just mentioned are just temporary and after awhile it's the guy's behavior which tells whether he's capable of becoming a gentleman and a nice husband or not...and surely you lack way too much in that. So stay proud with your fertile sperms about which you just flaunted.

So yes, I do agree, especially in the rural areas it is hard to get out of an abusive marriage for various reasons. But you'll also see many women who stay in abusive relationships in the west.
No ways
Yeh cause the girl can’t say out loud she is unhappy

Arranged marriage is like Indian family tinder or Tinder for Nerds. your parents give you options, and you choose with whom you wanna go on dates with, and if you both agree.....
Yayy!!!!!!!
Change the caption..
"White dude roasting indian couple"
😂😂😂
She answered it well though
The couple provided a lot info about how arranged marriage in India works and they were also enjoying the conversation. So I guess the caption is perfect
😆😆
There's nothing to roast here
I feel like most people don't understand the difference between arranged marriage and a forced marriage!!! Totally different!
Exactly
They used to be forced before our generation
My parents didnt even get see each other before marriage
My grandparents just randomly choose them and got them married
They literally saw each other at the day of marriage 😂😂
Isnt it funny
@@quickknowledge2462 yeah although, but it isn't like that anymore 😐 why are people still acting like they are forced to marry eachother in arranged marriages, it's changed now, people can choose who they want and don't want
@@quickknowledge2462 Welll my parents marriage was a love-arranged marriage..
They both have adorable laughs! This was delightful to watch!
It's more like a combination of arranged and love in India
DrizzyDrake nope there is a large gap in love and arranged marriages in india
I don’t understand this concept of ‘love-arranged’ marriage that a lot of people talk about.
If you are in ‘love’ then you already know each other. Then how is it ‘arranged’? By ‘arranged’ people actually mean ‘approved’ by parents. It is this filmy misconception that most people have that just because a couple fell in love then the parents won’t approve. And only marriages arranged by parents are approved by them. Not everyone’s parents are so small minded. Most love marriages happen with the blessing of the parents.
Arrange marriages are done in India to maintain purity of blood by practising caste discrimination while selecting bride/groom.
Charles Miller that's only partially right that's a real thing in some states . Otherwise it's done to ensure your family gets up in the social chain but most of the times it depends on the money most of the time
Charles Miller dude.. you are talking about the '90s... This is no the case nowadays
Arranged marraiges are like Fast track tinder! You choose the guy and go straight to marraige😂
It’s so good to see that Jimmy is actually funny and kind. Definitely one of my favorite late night hosts (with Conan)
That 90% arranged marriages in India was a bit too much. Everyone in my family had love marriage even my grandfather who is 92yo right now had love marriage. And the rate of arranged marriages is constantly declining.
Shrushti Gupta nah you are wrong.maby that's in your family.its mostly arranged marriage here
89% arranged , 11% love in whole India, official data
are didi hmre idhr pure arranged walle h😂😂 so katti ho gya...🤣
Well in most families i know its 95 percent
Yeaa.... I think around 80 percent does arranged marriage.... Not 90..thats too high
Factz* Arrange marriage lasts longer than love marriages...😂😂
/Ps.- Foreign people dont understand what arrange marriage is...
Lazy Dreamer I agree. Wish my parents knew me on some of the deepest levels, enough to chose my mate. My name is Julie Starks and I approve arranged marriages.
That's the most bullshit thing.
the reason why love marriages fail is because the couple have not understood each other completely
Its just about how you understand each other

They are all the stereotypes of indians, but it was still hilarious
Except no Apu accent mwahaha

That apu accent is clearly an exaggerated version how the west thinks how Indians talk. But in fact nobody talks like that. In any part of india. I have never heard anyone with that exaggerated accent lol.
But I guess it’s for comedy purposes.
4:55 loll dude you are not alone. I am sure there are a lot of people there who can relate to this.

PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND "ARRANGED MARRIAGE" DOES NOT EQUAL TO "FORCED MARRIAGE"
It's just like a dating website, but instead with middle aged women setting you up!
I don't understand why some Indians here make such a fuss over her saying, " we're from Chicago."
The question was ,"Where are you from?" and not ," which country are you from?" or ,"where were you born?"
4:57 I don't think anyone marries for 'spiritual upliftment'
They are one nice couple!
Yes quesrion was not very clear
Stereotypical Indian American: engineer, arranged marriage with a stranger, bad at sports obsessed with grades .
Me : banker , in a live in with a Puerto Rican American, was a high school jock ( baseball and basketball because i was a terrible football player) and obsessed with money
FYI, the 90% figure was just pulled out of thin air.
Sudipta Adhikary I feel it is a pretty accurate number.
80-90%, that’s accurate..considering the fact that there are 1 billion indians in india. Most marriages in India are arranged. Accept it lol. Plus some parents are starting to become open to the idea of a love marriage as long the guy/ girl comes from a good family/caste, good job, wealth etc.
My husband is from India. Punjab more exactly, and he says that figure is closer to 50%. It has been on a decline.
I too think 90's a bit too much... maybe like a 75-80%.
Sydney Sahota yes he's right.. people in Punjab are rather chill in case of love marriages
Well, my parents saw each other only once before their marriage 😂....they’re still together after 26 yrs🤣.
They’re cute. I hope they’re good to each other all their days.
It is not because they are emotionally attached, it is because of social pressure.

Glad that people are (slowly, but surely) learning more about Indian culture, and seeing that arranged marriages are not forced, and more like online dating or being set up/introduced by a family member or friends
Awww I’m glad it worked out for them and they are supportive of their children choosing their own love.
One of the funniest from Kimmel!!!! Always human like, this man.
My marriage was arranged. But that was the most beautiful, sacred thing that happened to me . Romance started with no ifs or buts. The trust and warmth between us was on a different level. There is some charm in it when we know that parents blessings are involved!! ❤️❤️
The best part is grandparents always want to spend time with their grandchildren and always are strong unit of family.
I agree with you 100%. I dont think I would have had any better person than my better half. And as the families are in the same wavelength its so happy to see our parents respecting each other. Our generation loved our parents, looking them so happy gives me everything in my life and also I got the best partner
Arranged Marriages are not forced upon. You have the freedom to get married or stay single or do whatever good.
prachi pandey hell yeah! Get married or stay single... that was good. Still laughing
Lies a lyft driver from India told me about honor killings...you notice how they didn’t answer when they were first asked

@Vijay Surya chal paka mat to
@Vijay Surya okay so if that's the thing let me tell you, i guess it's your wife who's living with you just because she has to follow her "duties" otherwise society, because i don't think so any girl would want to live with a guy who's as judgy as you're so technically that's your case and the guy in the show is way successful than you cuz he has established a life outside this country from root level and falling for thick hair, thick skin or whatever nonsense qualities you just mentioned are just temporary and after awhile it's the guy's behavior which tells whether he's capable of becoming a gentleman and a nice husband or not...and surely you lack way too much in that. So stay proud with your fertile sperms about which you just flaunted.
